  1. I did the exact same thing few weeks ago. Here is how you can do it without the use of MOOSE or MIST. Create a trigger for each vehicle that should count as destroyed that way: TRIGGER TYPE: Once Comment: [a name of your choice] EVENT: NOEVENT CONDITIONS TYPE: UNIT DEAD UNIT: [the unit] ACTIONS ACTION: FLAG INCREASE FLAG: 900 (or any other number you want to use as flag number) VALUE: 1 Then at the end of your mission, create two trigger (I trigger my end mission when the plane is parked back in its parking space). In the following example, you need to kill 11 targets to win. One for mission success TRIGGERS TYPE: Once Comment: [a name of your choice] EVENT: NOEVENT CONDITIONS 1 TYPE: FLAG IS MORE FLAG: 900 VALUE: 10 CONDITIONS 2 TYPE: UNIT INSIDE ZONE UNIT: [your plane unit] ZONE: [Define a zone where you will park your plane] ACTIONS ACTION: MESSAGE TO ALL TEXT: MISSION SUCCESS!!! SECONDS: 10 One for mission failure TRIGGERS TYPE: Once Comment: [a name of your choice] EVENT: NOEVENT CONDITIONS TYPE: FLAG IS LESS FLAG: 900 VALUE: 11 CONDITIONS 2 TYPE: UNIT INSIDE ZONE UNIT: [your plane unit] ZONE: [Define a zone where you will park your plane] ACTIONS ACTION: MESSAGE TO ALL TEXT: MISSION FAILURE SECONDS: 10 Don't hesitate to contact me to fine tune it. For the example place the final parking space not at the same location as the initial parking space so the triggers will not fire at the mission start. I personally park back at the same location, but I had to add one more condition to both those final triggers to make sure that those dont fire at the beginning of the mission. But I did not explain those here to keep the example simple.

    Voice Overs

Which one? Those are not that vibrant, but they could be used for more extensive ATC communication! Let us know :)
  3. Lollll!!! If you get precise with it, it is still lethal. Can't remove the image in my head of an ennemi soldier running around getting hit by a few hundred pound complete rocket pod falling from the sky LOL
  4. Hi guys, I always flew the Huey without TrackIr, having a blast using the gatling gun with the flexible sight. But since I have TrackIr (I have TrackHat but its mostly the same thing), the aiming is done with TrackIr and I HATE IT. How can I disable track IR for the copilot sight and the door gunner? If I toggled directly OFF the hat software with a button, the mouse take back the control, but if I use the flexible sight and move it around, the head does not follow it (a bit like the head would be lock). I looked in the "special" menu and found nothing. I am surely not the only one with that issue. Please help me out here ... that thing is COMPLETELY destroying my Huey experience since I cannot use the weapon anymore :( TrackIR user, how did you deal with this?
  5. What I noticed and do not like in 5.1 (at least with movie) is that too much emphasis is put on the front center speaker. I have a home theater and most of the people that hears it prefer it in stereo over 5.1. Stereo mostly play everything thru all speakers when 5.1 play from the front center speaker 50% of the time. I am not sound expert by the way, just reporting what I noticed. As far as this thread goes, wanted to know if indeed the sound in DCS is 360 and it seems it is. I will test it out for sure. I am planning to build a basic home made cockpit with hotas/rudder support with a 50 inches 4k screen and TrackIR. I play multiple aircraft so I will not replicate specific cockpits. But one of the thing I absolutely want in a 12 inches subs right under the seat to feel the base and now 2 fronts/rears speaker to hear the 360 effect. As I said earlier, this is something I felt few years ago at an air show and it made a HUGE difference on the immersion.
  6. That would be quite different in DCS, since you could be part of a mission to drop cargo in combat zone ... where you would interact with strike/cap group to wait for the good moment to do low passes and drop cargo ... Would be really fun to circle over a zone while A10 are clearing it out for you you to be able to land for a minute or two... Carrying cargo around in a combat sim would be WAY different than one in a civ sim.
  7. I do remember that mission that gave me the shiver. This is actually the best scene I ever played in the call of duty single player serie ...
  8. Was it said they would move in that direction? Just curious ...
  9. I could imagine! Or a P-51 as well !!!
  10. I really need to try the butt kicker. I tried a homemade cockpit done by some guy few years ago at a local air show and he had a 12 inches amplified sub-woofer box bolted right under the seat. I can tell you that when you were rolling on an airstrip in the IL2 sim, you FELT like you were rolling believe me. Also when anti aircraft round were exploding near you, you would get the shiver. WAY more immersive than I thought.
  11. LOLLL I guess I just said out loud that I am mid 40 LOL Briefly would sound coming from the rear are from the rear?
  12. Hi guys, you will agree that DCS is beautiful and that most you you at some point just did some flying around without really engaging in combat. Would you use DCS to fly civilian / cargo plane if you could? How AWESOME would it be, for example, to fly a C-130 over Nevada to go drop some cargo near a battle zone. I wonder if this kind of module would pull enough crowd to interest any third parties into developing it. I was thinking, as an example, about CaptainSim, who already developed an amazing C-130 for FSX. Since they already have all the 3D models and flight parameters figured out, I wonder if they would be interested doing a DCS version of it if they have enough pre-order.
  13. Hi guys, ironically, I was not really able to find any thread talking about it so here it is. Is DCS Quadraphonic (4 sounds channel)? I am asking since I am starting to build a basic cockpit and always thought that sound is 50% of the output sent from the game to your brain, so i always considered it as important as the visual. Is it worth having a 4 speakers set + sub in the DCS environment? Big difference from stereo? I am asking since some game are awesome in quadraphonic and exploit it at 100% .... but what about DCS? What is your experience with it on the subject?
  14. Actually, I learned a lot from many of you in this thread, which is the idea of a forum in the first place. I was falling in vortex ring state so much often that I started to doubt that any quick landing was even possible in DCS. This is the reason why I asked to see if some were able to do it. So both Backspace and EagleRising helped me out a lot here (Thank you a lot guys... I owe you a beer). Backspace proved me with his first video that indeed the physic engine will let you land quickly when you will get hang of it. And EagleRising clarified everything in my mind by explaining some chopper based flight physic that I could not really pick up with the training mission. I am an engineer so I am all about understanding the physics that you play with. Also I really like the helipcopter training series on youtube. This is golden! My landing are already getting WAY better. I am still struggling when the ground effect kicks in, but at least now I understand why and know how to fight it. I just need to practice at this point. It the first time with DCS that I explore the helicopter flight sim world and LOVE it. I have thousands of hours with fixed wing aircraft sims, but I have to say that handling choppers is A WHOLE NEW WORLD. There is a mission here written by tobi named "Train Heist". That mission will not represent in any way any real life situation, but it forces you to "hover" over a slow moving train. i use the mission to get hang of the flight controls. You approach the train at very high speed, slow down to like 20 knots and come close to the ground, which will put you in ground effectand vortex ring state if you are not carefull ... So all those steps are also present in a landing, which is why that mission is helping me practicing my controls.

    Train Robbery

Very fun mission Tobi! I was not able to complete it yet, but it DOES practice your flying skill a LOT! Love it! By the way, would you mind sharing the filter you use to do your voice recording. I have a recipe in Audacity, but it does not sound as good as yours! Are you recording thru a real CB radio or you are using filters?
  16. Actually you should do a tutorial about it .... I tried yesterday and sent few Huey to the junkyard believe me LOLL You made it looks simple, but I quickly figured out that it LOOKS simple only LOLL
  17. NICE! Would you say that it is better to keep the Huey in horizontal movement at all time while landing? I tend to try to hover first, which will commonly throw me in Vortex ring state. Both your landing (yours and Eagle_Rising's one) were done while the chopper was on horizontal movement until the last second.
  18. WOW! Just simply WOW. Dude this is by far the nicest Huey landing I saw in DCS. It can be done! This is exactly what I was looking for. Removing my hat and bow. I am impressed. You need to put that clip on youtube titled "DCS fast Huey landing" or something.
  19. Ho you are right Eagle_Rising! I know all about the sink rate and the vortex ring state. the DCS world has many scars of me learning it the hard way. Sorry I did not mention it in the initial thread, but I would like to see is some DCS pilot who understood it so good that they can deal with VRS and still get hot landings. Any of those around? I would consider the movie you posted a quick landing. If I could do half of this in DCS I would be happy as hell!
  20. Wow I think the A-10 crowd is the strongest one on DCS. I actually always loved the A-10 since the Lock-On day ... Wanted to make sure that the plane was not a complete mess since it is quite an old one. It seems not from what I read here. I finally ordered it + Neva + Dubai map and I am now checking out the campaign. I also took the the first A-10C Basic Flight Training Campaign I am pretty sure I will be busy for a while. One of the issue I have with my life is that DCS has too many nice aircraft to fly ... and my days are too short.
  21. Hi guys, I love the Huey ...really do. But I still cannot land it effectively (or at all if there is a bit of wind). Not complaining about the chopper here, I know that I need to practice more. But something tickles me ... Is there any expert landing pilot around here? I would really like to see on youtube a movie of someone who CAN land quickly like we see in the Vietnam movies. All landing videos I see on youtube are slow and precise landing, which is fine ... but what about the "I need to drop those dudes quickly and get the hell out of here." type of landing. Links would be awesome. We see lot of those in real life (airshow, documentaries, movies (older one with no CGI), but wonder if those landing can be done in DCS. Show up your skills if you can :)
  22. Anyway I initially lied ... already sold it to him few years ago to let me buy a new riffle without having my GF bitching about it. HO and if Belsimtek are really working on a Cobra, you guys made my day!!!! I love the Huey! I wish they would keep us informed on the development ...one liner here and there :)
  23. HOLY HELL!!!!!!! That aircraft maneuverability is out of this world.
  24. Hi guys, those campaigns are up for sale those days. I have the Nevada map so I am good. Are they worth it? Fun? Worth a buy? What were your experience with those? F-5E Aggressors Air Combat Maneuver Campaign https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/products/campaigns/f-5e_aggressors_acm_campaign/ F-5E Aggressors Basic Fighter Maneuvers Campaign https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/products/campaigns/f-5e_abfm_campaign/
  25. Interesting ... Is developed by who? A dev at some point said "yeah we will do this one day" or an official project published by one of the affiliated dev house? If yes, do they have a development thread? I would really like to follow this.
