  1. I can do in the early 200 seconds as well, but I am not as skilled as many of you guys. So the scoring card is now much more aggressive but I know that it can be done. Had many download of the missions, but mostly no comments. So I am not sure if its good news and I should leave the mission as it is, or I should adjust.
  2. YES I noticed this, which is quite a pain. I opened a new thread here, https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=221438 but the current one is probably in a more relevant zone. If anyone from Eagle Dynamics read this, please fix this thing. Having a community doing mods for the game is what makes the game popular. To be honest, editing files already in the "User file" section is SUCH a pain that I avoid doing updates ... dealing with that <BR> thing, losing comments and trying to use the editor is really a mess. Don't let your modder down guys ...
  3. Ok thanks Devrim ... I will put my comments there as well!!
  4. Great video BKThunder. What is the camera you are using when you see the plane from the front just right before it land on the carrier? Really like the angle but could not figure out what camera view you are using. Constructive criticism, the white font are really difficult to read since they pass thru the white of the clouds. Keep that in mind for the next video! Great work man!!!!
  5. Please tell me that an English cockpit is available!!!!
  6. Hi guys, not sure it should be posted here but I did not find any other threads to report it to. This would quite an easy fix and would be very helpful to the community. So here it is: In the Download->User files section, you can post a mission. But here is a BIG problem with it: When you edit and update your mission (like uploading a new version of it) you lose all community comments, all ratings and all statistics (like the number of download). So even though your mission was rated 5 stars, with 200 comments and downloaded 2321 times ... everything will reset to 0 if the mission creator upload a new version of it. Please guys fix this, just a bit of web code tuning ....nothing major! Frag
  7. Yeah I have the same profile as you. Coming from Strike Commander ... did a lot of Janes ... a LOT of Falcon 4 (was in a Virtual Squadron) ..FSX .. LOCK-ON and now DCS 2.5. Like you, I mostly love ground attack and light dog-fighting. I initially bought the L-39 first since it is quite forgiving, not expensive and a very good learner to jump back in the boat. But my past experience with past flightsim made me outgrow it rather quickly. I love the little aircraft and had a blast with it, but it's now time to upgrade. I did a LOT of research and it seem that the Viggen is the next one to go. - Viggen was done by a very respectable 3rd party company. - Was built FIRST as a ground striker but can defend itself quite good. - Damn it is FAST AS HELL. - The technology in it is not overwhelming Not sure if you saw that review from Ralfidude, but it is priceless :) Viggen is for sure my next one.
  8. Hi Skoner, not in front of my gaming computer right now so I cannot test it ... Set your trigger type to "CONTINUOUS" (this is where you have set MISSION START) ...so the trigger will be checked in loop ...and as soon as you will hit 7000 then your plane will explode. If it still does not work, in the ACTIONS box (the last on the right), there is a choice for "DESTROY UNIT" is I remember correctly. Try it out and let me know. I played around with altitude a lot recently, we will make it work.
  9. Hi guys, even while browsing the documentation, I cannot figure this one out. The RPM gauge of the L-39 has two needles tagged "1" and "2" ... I am trying to understand what are those (considering that the L-39 only has one engine), but the documentation is vague about it. Here is the description: ITE-2 (n1 pointer – HPC RPM, n2 pointer – LPC RPM) ... briefly what are those 2 needles exactly? Probably a dumb question ... but can't figure it out sorry. Thanks!
  10. Hi guys, I am an old time flight simmers and just came back to DCS 2.5. Wow Eagle Dynamics is REALLY on a good track. The level of details of the planes, the flight models, the missions editors, the scripting language, everything is very well done. I am a developer myself and I surprised myself saying WOW out loud many times recently. Things are really well done around here. BUT to my surprise, considering the level of details that Eagle Dynamics decided to invest in, I realized that airport management is really basic. This is the area that I would say I am disappointed with. As constructive criticism here is my opinion on air traffic control: - The ATC interaction is really minimal. It should be kicked up a notch. - The mission editor scripts/commands does not allow interaction with the ATC as well, leaving the modders empty handed to write a good mod to raise that level of interaction. - The pilot AI around airport is quite basic as well, refusing to land for all kind of reasons (like having a truck parked in an relevant parking, timing with other aircraft that just took-off, etc...). Saw many bugs recently in that area. Again, considering the level of fidelity that DCS is investing in. I really think that the ATC should be way more detailed. This is a flight sim after all ... Am I the only one who would appreciate this?
  11. I am new to DCS (few weeks) and I got involved a lot! I am going deeper and deeper in this world every day. I am coming from the Falcon 4 era, followed up with LOCK-ON and took few years break to come back here with the release of 2.5. When I went in the map purchase option, I was REALLY surprised when I saw that no Vietnam map was available considering all the older aircraft options we have available. Indeed, I am 100% sure that Vietnam would be a very successful map considering that the war that happen there was one of the mostly known war (after WWII). A very large percentage of DCS buyers would be interested in that map. There is a lot of middle age man here, who all grew watching Platoon, Full Metal Jacket and hearing their fathers and uncles talking about that war. Also, Vietnam is not such a big country. Eagle Dynamics could do the north or the south part as well, which would make sense for a Vietnam campaign. I know that Third Party companies are doing planes? But to they have green light to develop map as well?
  12. That is sad. I really ...really love DCS, but the more I dig into it, the more I realize that airport management is the lacking area for a flightsim. AI having strong difficulty to land for all kind of reason, interaction with ATC mostly minimal and mostly not much variable and commands for the mission builders to hook to. Considering the level of fidelity of the planes in there, they should seriously consider investing in airfield operations.
  13. You are the man Grimes!!!! I think I should get everything I need from clickabledata.lua. I took a switch I was aware of "CONVERTER_1" and found it in there. They seem to be all listed. Thanks man!!!! Really ...really appreciated. This forum is priceless.
  14. Hi guys, I like the ATC interaction and would like to know thru scripts if the player has permission to: - Start engine - Taxi - Take-off Is there a way to check this out thru the editor or script? Thanks
  15. Hi guys, I am wondering, would it be possible to drain the battery to 0 volts with a script command? In a mission, I would like the player to be forced to ask the ground crew to plug external power. Thanks
  16. I came to realize that there are pilots around here that are WAY more skillful than I am. So I modified the aggressiveness of the other racers time. Version 1.01 is released.
  17. Hi guys, I would really need a pointer here, just an idea of which class to look for. Let say, in a L-39C, that I would like to know what is the current status (on,off) of the main battery switch. What can I use? EDIT: I just saw that you can use, in the editor itself "X COCKPIT ARGUMENT IN RANGE" to know the state of a switch, where you pass a number in parameters to identify the switch you are looking for. Two questions: 1. Could we have access to this thru MOOSE? I prefer scripting over editor commands. 2. Where can I find the full list of all possible arguments for the L-39 ? 3. I also noticed that X: COCKPIT HIGHLIGHT ELEMENT is another value. Example: For the battery, the highlight parameter is 1 .... however to check the value of the battery state (on or off) it is 141. So where can I find the listing of those values? Thanks! Frag
  18. Wow he had to do it 4 times here which could become really frustrating. I don't understand deutsh, but I think that I can hear him swear when he lands and the instructor tell him to do it again lol. I will check out the mission file but I think that it probably requires at least two patterns (like you said) ... But the second one will be monitored for your airspeed, roll and altitude and will let you pass if you are not doing more than x errors. As soon as I can do it, I'll do a small tutorial in english on that one. I guess it will be helpful for many.
  19. Few reported already that the high score could be a little low. I will look how its going for you guys and will adjust the ranking in few days if it't too easy. Damn you guys are quite pilots. I did 2nd place myself, but I made that run A LOT! Someone told me he did 2nd place on the first try. This is a LOT of very low altitude flying to get this score!
  20. Wo that is quite a nice time there! Guess you did a lot of low altitude points! I will need to adjust the ranking if needed! But keep in mind that 3 km is quite short when you are comming in at 650 km/h!
  21. Hi guys, I added a new mission for the L-39C that I invested a lot of effort in. I would really appreciate if you could give me your feedback. Here is the thread: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=221141
  22. Briefing Welcome to the International Bounce-off Water Event, where skilled pilots from everywhere around the world, come to compete in that fast and dangerous time attack race. Every competitor race against the clock to complete the track over the Terek river at the highest speed and lowest altitude as possible in their classic L-39C. The end of the race is triggered by the destruction of a fuel truck, placed at the finish line, which please the crowd to the highest level. The young event brings dozens of thousands of tourist in the area as the race is now known to be extremely dangerous and exciting, requiring the cream of the pilots. As the Russian government thought about cancelling the event for its high numbers of accidents, the money brought to the region by the tourism and the growing international popularity of the event said otherwise. Never the less, many well-known air show teams from everywhere around the world want to be there to prove their skill in that extremely visible event. You are Artem Vasiliev, a local Russian Air Force pilot, which has been tasked to compete in the event vs the best. You are flying with your colorful wingman Frag, who will play a navigator role for the event, sitting right behind you. Good luck, and represent the local air force well!!! Rules - 10 teams are joining the event. - The plane to be used is the L-39C with no less than 25% of fuel. - The weapon to be used to destroy the truck should be the S-5KO rocket pod. - Each pilot needs a navigator aboard the plane. - Only one team is present on the circuit. This is a time attack event. - The race start at the first bridge, between the orange smoke markers. - The race time stops when the fuel truck is destroyed. - The pilot that did the best time win. Many parameters will modify that timing (see next section). - A complete ranking report will be provided at the end of the race. Time Rules ALTITUDE READING: A reading of the plane altitude (vs the ground) every 2 seconds. LOCATION READING: A reading of the location of the plane every 2 seconds. Violations: - Every LOCATION reading outside the width of the river bed will add 7 seconds to the final time. - Every ALTITUDE reading of more than 100 meters will add 7 seconds to the final time. Bonuses: - Every ALTITUDE reading of 5 meters or less subtract 5 seconds from the final time. - Every ALTITUDE reading of 5 to 10 meters subtract 2 seconds from the final time. - Every ALTITUDE reading of 10 to 20 meters subtract 0.5 seconds from the final time. Good luck! Note from the author - Was developed and tested on DCS 2.5 - Your navigator, Frag, has dozens of custom voice recording. - Custom music, that can be turned off by switching the radio channel preset from 0 to any other channel. - Even though it seems like a simple missions, there are DAYS invested in that mission. - If you want to modify the mission to play with another plane you can, but keep in mind that the scoring card will not be balanced for the new plane. However both your plane and pilot MUST be named ‘l39’ for the mission to work. Also the music is played on channel 220AM, so select this channel if you want music. - I am planning to add the HAWK (when I will get it) and add the TOMCAT (when available) later on. - You are representing the Russian Air force, but I am Canadian …so obviously don’t expect the accent to match for the voice over. - Surprisingly, the “replayability” of this mission is quite high. I surprised myself playing it over and over again to beat my own score. You will learn to handle the L-39C in this mission …believe me. - But mostly TAKE A SCREENSHOT AND SHARE YOUR RANKING CARD HERE Known Bug - The DCS engine will not let you play 2 custom sounds at the same time. So it could happen that your navigator voice get cut by a violation buzzer. That bug was a plague for me since initially your wingman AI was way more dynamic. I had to slow down a lot on his AI speech, dealing with timing to avoid cutting. I will report the bug to DCS (but I guess they are already aware of this). If that bug get fixed, I have a Version 2 of that mission Thanks to - Everyone who works on the MOOSE framework. They did my job way easier. - Everyone who answers questions in the Mission Editor sections, I could not have done it without them. INSTALLATION The mission is here: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3302029/ - Simply drop the .miz file in the C:\Users\[your user]\Saved Games\DCS\Missions folder and it will appear in DCS under the menu MISSION then in the folder “My missions”. - IMPORTANT: Since the mission deals with altitude calculation a lot, it is primordial to have your measurement setting in METRIC. Change log September 30, 2018 Version 1.01 Other competitors are now way more aggressive. September 28, 2018 Version 1.0 Initial Release Have fun
  23. Hi guys, I am really flying the L-39 great now, very good control over it and did tons of missions. However, I bought the Kutsan Campaign and I cannot understand a thing of what want the instructor wants from me in the first mission. He is making me do a full landing pattern with maintained speed, altitude and roll, (which I do correctly) but as soon as I land he is always telling me to repeat the exercise. Briefly I have no clue what he wants from me. The last thing he says is "PAss the runway threshold at 210". I tried: - Touching down at 210, then brake and stop. - Passing over runway at 210 and wait next instruction. - Touching and taking-off again ... Eveything I do always end by "Second attemp". WHAT DOES HE WANT LOLLL !? Anyone could hint me out here? Hate not being able to complete the mission because of my skill, but because I don't know what need to be done. Not a very good experience from the first mission of that campaign. I wish it is not the same style all the way to end...:noexpression:
  24. I am sorry diskwalker, but I do not understand at all what you are talking about here. What the switch conditions and continuous type triggers have to do with the fact that the trigger are called when you are dying. I know what a continuous trigger is, but I do not see what is the link with the bug I reported?
