  1. I used to have this issue a lot, but since I started to set the throttle to Idle AFTER clicking Engine Start .... I did not reproduced the issue anymore. So it seems that it will happen only if you set the throttle to Idle before clicking Start Engine. For those who it happens as well, do you set the throttle to Idle before or after you click 'Start Engine'?
  2. I read in your signature that you played the huey a lot. The huey flight model is top notch. To me that Gazellep flight model felt arcadish. I was not impressed at all. But their creator said it would ge improved in 2019.
  3. AWESOME reading. I was troubled by the VIFFING maneuver short clip. Able to do that in DCS?
  4. If that engine did not have a oil leak ... it has one now after that cleaning session. :music_whistling:
  5. mmmm the more I play DCS, the more I think that night flying is really rare around here. Tons of stuff goes really wrong with the airports, the lighting and ATC. To my surprise there are not a lot of workaround for the night flyers :(
  6. Good choice. As far as rudder goes, you WILL need an axis for the rudder. If you have a twist grip joystick you will be fine. For sure pedals are way easier to use, but a twist grip does the job. Then later on you can buy pedals if you are really into choppers. HOWEVER ... I used the twist grip on my TM 16000 joysticks for weeks for the rudder. The only disadvantage is that my muscle memory built up on this. So when I finally decided to use my CH Pro Pedals ... I had to get use to the rudder now being at the feet. It took me few weeks to readjust and felt like a newbie again
  7. I made the error of trying out the Huey one night just for the kick of it ... 3 weeks later I was trying to hover over few soldiers trying to land on that building top while being under small arm fire. I can tell you, that thing is ADDICTIVE. Reason being ... it is really tough to get a good control over it, so it is quite rewarding for every step you climb. VERY. You CANNOT get wrong with the Huey ...
  8. Or ... Let's say you have a zone (let's name it ZONE01) that you want to trigger only when you will be back (so it will not trigger the first time). In your trigger zone ZONE01, set a condiftion "FLAG is TRUE" for the flag 100. - So the first time you pass ZONE01 the flag 100 is not set yet, so it wont trigger. - Turn the flag 100 to true at later time in the mission with another trigger. So when you will come back over ZONE01 it will trigger now since the flag 100 is now true. I use this a lot to set a zone trigger on my home base to know if I land back at the end of the mission. Without that flag check, it would trigger as soon as I enter the game. Let me know if you follow me, if not I will post a small mission example for you. You get a LOT of control over your trigger with that technique.
  9. Shit ... I got the same bug. That thing is viral?
  10. Sound good, I cannot reproduce at will ... but will post the track as soon as it happens. It happens to me a lot so should not be that long. I will also check out what ricktoberfest told me to try.
  11. Hey guys, something happens to me a LOT and I am pretty sure that I could not be the only one who has this. I wonder if its a bug or I miss something. - Coldstart - Set battery ON. - Set both Generator ON. - Put both engine throttle to Idle. - Order the crew chief to connect air supply. - Order the crew chief to apply air supply (left engine) - Start the left engine At this point everything is fine... - Order the crew chief to apply air supply (right engine) - Start the right engine. Sometimes, at this point ...the engine wont start for 15-20 seconds. I may have to click the start button again. And when it does that that ...the engine RPM will jump sky high to 100% ... throwing the plane into movement. That thing happen to me so often that I now always ask the crew chief to place the wheel shock ...so the plane wont move if it happens. Also I carefully checked if the throttle handles move (thinking that it could be a controller issue with the axis) and no, the throttle handles are not moving at all. Am I doing something wrong or its a known bug?
  12. Hi guys, I like to fly aircraft at night. But something bugs me out. It seems (and correct me if I m wrong) that the runway light will only turn on if you talk to the airport ATC. I don't like the ATC in DCS, too many frustrating bugs so I tend not to use it. So let's say that I have scripting to do my own ATC, how would you turn ON the runway light? I doubt that you can turn on the runway light with LUA scripting ...but maybe there is a trick ... like spawning a AI chopper with an order to land or something. If you guys have a trick let me know ... I am REALLY interested to see.
  13. Hi guys, Many of us bought many aircraft, but you probably noticed that you are commonly coming back to that one aircraft, which is the one you know best. Let's say tomorrow you ED would have to force you to select one aircraft (in the existing ones) and that this aircraft would be the only one you would be allowed to fly for the next few years to come. Which one would it be? I'll start ... the F-5 tiger. That was a hard decision, but you are only allowed ONE. Don't write a second choice ;)
  14. I guess he means a KC135 and he matches speed... am i right?
  15. In the Briefing Panel of the mission editor. Let the user select a sound file that would be played during the briefing presentation of the mission (before the user click "Start"). Again, all to add a nice atmosphere to the missions.
  16. The more I read you guys talking about the Mig-21, the more I want to buy it. Damn I love older aircraft with challenge to fly. After making the error of watching the videos linked here, I spent hours watching Mig-21 content on youtube !
  17. Just watched it.... quite impressive. I guess that perfect landing is necessary every time there. I would consider your touchdown perfect there and yeah like you said ... not much runway left. I guess I will forget about doing a full campaign based there LOLL For the Viggen, it is kind of my mystical aircraft. I want it for so long but always find a way to get other aircraft during sale, but I think that this envy will get resolved at the next sale.
  18. I think Vigen has reverse thrust right? I don`t have the aircraft but I am getting it at the next sale for sure. I just DO love that plane. This is another one I would like to see landing on that airfield in a clip.
  19. wow I would really like to see it on youtube .... I am not even close of making it.
  20. LOLLL!!!! You got me there.
  21. Hi guys, wow the landing strip at Sir Abu Nu'Ayr island is REALLY short. Just for the kick of it. Anyone was able to land there?I tried many times, but was able only once with a L-39 .... but was not able at all with the F-5. Who can and with which aircraft? An no smart a$$ ... chopper doesn't count ;)
  22. Ho! I will test it out tonight for sure. This is pure gold!
  23. Hi guys, can you add the good old flashlight to the Huey please? It is present in many aircraft but not in the Huey. I know that we can use RShift-H to get night vision, but you will understand that if feels really weird to do that in a 70's mission. Thanks! ps: I am aware that Holton181 did a mod for this ... but we should get this in vanilla. It is really problematic for the newcomers. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=3677812
  24. Hi guys, I wish I am missing something, but I did not find any keys to turn on the flashlight in the Huey. There is flashlight in many planes, but seems like the Huey does not have one. Is it the case? I know I can use night vision (RShift-H) but it feels weird to use that in a 70's mission. What can we use to coldstart the Huey when starting at night? If there are none I will put it in the wishlist....
  25. My GOD this is a piece of art. Keep that thing under a glass bubble. If you ever break it by accident, you will never forgive yourself. By the way if you have other aircraft, post those here as well. I am REALLY interested to see your other masterpieces.
