  1. I was learning how to set up carpet bombing missions using the GR tutorial. I had some issues getting it to work right and at the end I still had issues but the mission "worked." One issue was bomb spacing. The bomb drop default to a linear spacing of 1600'. If you change that in any way, say to cover a 2000' or 3000' runway, the spacing will change to something over 6000' and you will miss the target because the bomb density is not high enough. A second issue is silly. A box formation of 4 3-ship elements in either Open or Closed spacing will kill 2-5 of their own aircraft because they will drop the bombs right in front of another aircraft, which will then either explode or fall out of formation and crash. It happened every time I ran this mission. Bomber test.zip Attached is a file with .miz, .trk, debrief log, and tacview.
  2. I am trying to set up templates for use in creating bomber formations. I have one set up for a B17 Lead Group element. I want to set one up for a completed Box, with the intention being drop the completed Box, set waypoints and mission tasks and be done with the whole thing in one go. Is it possible to create a Template from more than one Group?
  3. Is it possible to set an escort mission from the interface? Or does that have to be done in the ME after the fact? nvm - I see that it is available in the new version.
  4. DCS capture protocol is "Kill all enemy units at the base, then have at least one friendly unit occupy that base." I believe that happens automagically. The important thing is "Kill *ALL*." Anything left, even non-tactical units, will prevent it.
  5. Can confirm. Version 2.1.5 - Started New campaign on Channel map. Summer '44, WWII BlueFor and Redfor. Purchased aircraft, pass turn for delivery. Added missions from Dunkirk and Manston. When I click the Take Off button, nothing happens. No mission is generated and no popup about how to run it. No errors in the info panel. Liberation log attached. channelcampcreate.txt
  6. Look into DCS: Liberation 2.0. I got familiar with flying the F5 flying that campaign and the older original version. It was a lot of fun.
  7. Clean and repair. If you are running any cockpit mods, disable them. You are getting errors loading a cockpit texture.
  8. Certainly not nobody, otherwise we would not have automatics.
  9. "DCS proudly announces new backgrounds by Escher!"
  10. Does it actually work now? And is it only OB? Because is Stable, you can place the unit, but you cannot Task it to Transmit.
  11. The folder for custom kneeboards is "C:\Users\*username*\Saved Games\DCS\Kneeboard\*aircraft*" *aircraft* uses the same format as the Livery folders: e.g. the P47 is "P-47D-30"
  12. Three things, really boiled down: Niche market inside of a niche market. FFB requires developer support, unlike most other controllers. There is a LONG LONG history of shenanigans with the licensing of FFB technology that makes it difficult to get into.
  13. https://github.com/Khopa/dcs_liberation/wiki/Getting-started Documentation right with the source. There's also everything in this thread from page 50 on.
  14. Not my fix - from elements["PTR-LCP-AUTOPILOT-ENGAGE"] = default_button( _("Autopilot Engage/Disengage"), devices.AUTOPILOT, device_commands.Button_2, 131, nil, nil, false)
  15. In the cockpit, there is a white lever on the back of the stick. That is the brake lever. It is mapped to "W" by default. You can also activate it with the mouse wheel, and there is an option in the controls setup to map it to an analog axis. The Spit is a beautiful aircraft to fly, but like most of the Warbirds it is ungodly awful on the ground. One of those things that they made too "real" in my opinion
  16. What does the mission look like if you open it in the Editor?
  17. Base capture is completed by occupying the airfield and eliminating all enemy units. If there are any enemy units still attached to the airfield, the capture will not complete. You have to kill them all. it is also an automatic function. You meet the requirements and the base is captured. You do not need to do anything else.
  18. Will they work with the searchlights?
  19. There is something called Headquarters. It is incomplete, and the developer has not updated it in a while, but I think it does what you are looking for. https://www.cafedefaune.org/software/headquarters-for-dcs-world/
  20. Which version of the Beta? What are your hardware specs, especially RAM and HDD/SDD? Is it every mission that loads slowly, or just one? If the latter, which mission?
  21. Most MP users run OB because most of the servers are running OB, not the other way around. And the servers are running OB because their operators just can't keep their fingers off the shiny. If more server operators ran Stable, more players would as well. Stands to reason. However, MP is a subset, and not even a majority subset.
  22. DCS tracks are ... unreliable. Honestly, you'll get better tactical information using Tacview. Unless you are making video content. In which case, Godspeed.
  23. It sounds like you are running TIR open in the background. If you are not tweaking controls or settings for some reason, try running it minimized. It'll give the Windows viewport one less thing to be concerned with.
  24. Running 2.5.6 Stable. The issue is with the radar scope. For the longest time, the display would not show the grid. The only thing that I would see was the points where the lines would cross. I was pleased to see that this was fixed for 2.5.6. And then yesterday I noticed this. This seems backwards. With the shadow falling on the scope, the grid in shadow should be brighter, and the grid in the sun should be washed out and nearly invisible. It does not look that way to me. I understand that it might be contrast bias at work, but it still looks wrong.
