  1. thanks, but that would solve only "half of my problem" :smilewink: If I want keys instead of buttons, I can do that like you've described it. But when I fly the A-10, I don't use TARGET. So VA needs to be able to deal with joystick buttons. What I'd need with your example, is a "two way setup" in VA, meaning that I would have to duplicate all TX entries. Like "Transmit TX1" being either the configured key or the configured joystick button. I havn't tried, is this possible at all? ---- Actually it IS possible, see image :smartass: Thanks mate, I wouldn't have tried without your post
  2. okay, I'm not sure whether this is a VAICOM or a VoiceAttack question. Maybe it's both :smilewink: I mostly use TARGET GUI profiles with my TM Warthog Hotas. The only exception is the A10. Now when using a TARGET profile, you have that Thrustmaster Virtual Game Controller which is seen by VA as one device. In my case it's Joystick #2. I can easily map a PTT button to that device. However, when flying the A10, it's two devices (TM Joystick and Throttle). So I map the Throttle as Joystick #1 and also can map a PTT button. Actually the same as before, but for VA it's another device. But now I always need to switch the config in VA, depending on which joystick setup I want to use. And of course I always forget to do that, need to quit DCS again, remap, rinse and repeat. There must be a smarter way? How can I have both configs working so that VA/VAICOM work with a PTT button, no matter which setup I currently use?
  3. die Loorbeeren gebühren ja wohl eher Dir. Du hast ja die Arbeit mit dem ganzen Scheiss :music_whistling: :smilewink:
  4. Hast Du meine PN gekriegt? Irgendwas tut da nicht, scheint mir
  5. For me the Rift S was a "desperate upgrade" from the CV1. I want(ed) a HP Reverb but... However, the Rift S is GOOD! It is much better than expected, after reading all those mediocre or even bad reviews. For DCS it's worth the upgrade for sure. Only Audio sucks. I got me a nice solution from https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3615447 where you can use a Koss Porta Pro with the Rift S. Cheap solution, great sound. And comfy, too.
  6. @Gerd-Wiem Und was genau hat das mit dem Datum zu tun? Im Moment gibt's keine Reverbs und HP schweigt sich sowohl über den Zeitplan als auch darüber, was genau passieren wird, aus.
  7. Well, my personal experience with Samsung (broken O+) is ...... undescribable. It took hours (no joke) to get a ticket/RMA for returning the unit. It was ridiculous. I will never again buy such a product from Samsung for sure. The HP Support was quite responsive and friendly, but it seems they know not more about the companies plans regarding the Reverb than we do :)
  8. well, I own a Rift CV1, an Odyssey+ and want(ed) a Reverb. My O+ is broken, the Reverb is n/a for god-knows-how-long and my old CV1 works like a charm but....the video quality is like it is. So out of frustration I bought a Rift S yesterday and I tell you, that IS "much of an improvement" over the CV1. Given the rather low price of the Rift S and the really good tracking, I think it's a very good VR set. Even if I get a Reverb for DCS, I surely will keep the Rift S for room scale or games where tracking matters.
  9. I own both, not worth it at all. Neither way. They are pretty much equal in DCS.
  10. Right, no native support at all. I own both a Rift CV1 and an Odyssey+, both run without any issues. At this point there certainly is no general advantage for Oculus devices in DCS.
  11. well, keep in mind that we're supersampling with lower resolution VR sets. That means that way more pixels are calculated than the display physically has to get a good result. With the Reverb, you already have a high resolution and can put down or even disable supersampling. First reports from lucky dudes who got a Reverb from the first batch shipped seem to indicate that both aspects balance out, so that the performance or fps with the Reverb is equal to current VR sets.
  12. First of all, VR rocks in DCS. Almost any VR set is better than none. However, the Rift S isn't the ideal choice for DCS (albeit there is nothing wrong with it). If you want to get a VR set for DCS or flight sims specifically, the HP Reverb would be the top choice. IF it would be available, that is.
  13. Folks, I've never tried any of those more advanced campaigns like The Enemy Within. Do they/how do they work with Vaicom Pro? Is there any useful integration or do I have to fall back to the "old style" keyboard-operated radio? The latter would be a show stopper for me since I'm using VR and a motion rig only (no keyboard available there). Thanks!
  15. I've read about this bug before but never seen it myself. Well, today that changed. Both with release and open beta, no matter what I do, ASO is dumb and does just nothing. No chaff, no flare, no chance to survive
  16. latest stable, yes
  17. why does the DCS Updater by Skate Zilla don't see the beta? I just started using that tool a few days ago, hence the question.
  18. I was able to use the O+, current firmware and VoiceAttack (with Vaicom Pro). No issues. But I only did it once because my O+ died three days after I got it. And believe me, Samsung is a HORRIBLE company to deal with in such a case, especially in the combination "located in Europe where they don't sell the O+" :(
  19. Certainly true, but sometimes I wonder why some things seem to get no attention at all. The lighting bug is one of those, it can't be *that* difficult to fix?
  20. ...so I thought I could try that, too :-)
  21. Hmm, do you fly any helis in DCS? If so, I'm very surprised that you don't see where the difference is (talking about the joystick, of course). In a helicopter you're doing veeery subtle movements on the cyclic. I actually often use thumb and index finger only for controlling the stick. No way to fly some hefty dogfight in a warbird like that and that is where the Warthog haptic excels. A Warthog stick on a force feedback base, that would be lovely
  22. well, the Thrustmaster Warthog stick is to blame for that. You can't (okay, *I* can't) use the Sidewinder anymore for flying airplanes because it feels like a cheap plastic toy compared to the Warthog. Not really an issue for helicopters because their controls are very different. But as a flight stick....no way
  23. I don't like it. And I don't like the Dora, either. I can call myself a flight sim veteran with over 35y of experience. I've spent years with the IL-2 series and have god-knows-how-many hours of sim flying on the counter. But those warbirds in DCS just feel wrong and I think you absolutely need force feedback for decent control. Yes, aproaching a stall or being close to losing control are nicely modeled both visually and by some extra sound effects, but I never managed to fly on the limits without sooner or later snapping the airplane, stall it or do other things which make you lose the fight and your virtual life. Frustrating. Of course you can get around by doing (much) more practice, but for me it's just not worth it. Using my Warthog stick does not work for me at all and my MS Sidewinder 2 is nice for 'copters but not for warbirds. I've always been a "propeller-dude" but in DCS the jets are the much better choice (IMO, of course). I recommend having a test flight with the 109 before buying.
