  1. Oh dear, guess that means no Xmas present for me (#267) :(
  2. I own both the Rift S and the Reverb. If you're looking for something for DCS only, the Reverb and only the Reverb is the choice. It is far superior to the Rift S in DCS. For other games, especially those which require complex or fast movement tracking, the Rift S is the better device.
  3. ah c'mon, how many units were sold and how many died? I had an Odyssey+ which was broken after two days (big "fun" shipping that thing from Europe to the US for repair). I had a Rift which had to replaced under warranty and my first Rift S didn't work at all. That's the way it is, luck or no luck. NO POINT in "not buying now", things won't get better anytime soon.
  4. Speaking of - it might be only me, but I always think that the "Hover and low speed control indicator" is especially dark, almost not illuminated at all.
  5. So I was trying again two times today, no issues whatsoever. I still have no clue what happened, I did exactly the same as always before. Puzzled....
  6. Thanks for the replys. But I'm very sure I kept all within limits and certainly I didn't "burn" the engines. The is no need for much power during that mission anyway, only stop three towards home base (assuming you go over the mountains and not back the way you came) needs a little more juice. I also never take off with more power than necessary and torque was in the green zone for sure. As I've said, I'm flying the fat lady for years and never had such problems before. That includes the "documents mission". I really have no idea. Will save a trk file next time I try it.
  7. Folks, I'm clueless. First of all, I have a lot of hours on that module, 100 at least, could easily be twice of that. So I can say I'm a very experienced pilot. However, I havn't flown the Mi-8 for a couple of months, so maybe I just miss the point or I'm blind. Happens to elderly people.... Anyway, here's the problem: In the "documents" mission, after the second stop (that's the one with that farm near the river), I get a generator failure warning. After takeoff that is, some 30 seconds into flight. RPM are fine, neither too low nor too high. It happens regardless. However, I then can continue till the final stop. Right after takeoff there, I get continuous generator failures and after a few of them, the generators permanently fail. I also seem to lose more and more power, eventually I either fall of the skies or need to do an emergency landing. I've tried that mission three times now, always with the same result. However, I've done some flying from the "instant action" menu and never ran into that problem. Absolutely no idea what's going on here. Any hints?
  8. try another PC to make sure the Reverb generally works.
  9. hey, they didn't say WHICH summer.....
  10. I just close my eyes. You'll notice when the flicker stops :)
  11. it was on reddit at least

  13. with the Reverb? I'm asking bcs. you're listing a CV1 in your signature.
  14. please share your settings. I have a 2080ti and although I'm quite happy with the overall performance, I don't get a constant 45fps and certainly not with "all maxed". So I'm curious to hear what you've done....
  15. There is nothing wrong with spending money for a hobby. Myself I have spent tenthousands of bucks for flight sims in the last 35 years. Every user of the MS Flight Simulator remembers the "new version, new hardware" cycle. However, I personally wouldn't spend that amount of money for the Xtal. It's ten times the price of a Reverb or Rift S for "how much more fun"? But that's only me, of course. Have a lot of fun with that device and please let us know how it works.
  16. IIRC the widest IPD has the Odyssey+ with 72. I'm fairly sure that none of the recent models (especially with software IPD) will suit you. The software IPD of the Reverb currently does not work (hope HP will fix that one day) but the possible max value is far away from 74.
  17. not here, but sounds like sth. IPD related
  18. huh? Why? Have two monitors + VR, never any issues.
  19. "driver_Holographic_Experimental" : { // Motion reprojection doubles framerate through motion vector extrapolation // motionvector = force application to always run at half framerate with motion vector reprojection // auto = automatically use motion reprojection when the application can not maintain native framerate "motionReprojectionMode" : "auto", // Automatic motion reprojection indicator to display the mode currently selected // green = off because application can render at full framerate // light blue = on because application is cpu bound // dark blue = on because application is gpu bound // red = off because application running at less than half framerate "motionReprojectionIndicatorEnabled" : true,
  20. Enable the indicator for Motion Repo (in the same file where you've enabled the same) Run DCS, does it show a red square?
  21. yup, had that two or three times already. No reason known.
  22. Does not work for me either (DCS open beta). I get no labels at all, no matter which settings I use. Default labels work fine, though.
  23. IPD 68mm here. Not an issue. BUT the Reverb only really is sharp in the center of your view. The farther away from the center, the worse it gets. At with worse im mean worse! However, when owning a Reverb you'll very soon get used to moving your head a little bit instead of your eyes. So the center also moves and you'll be fine.
  24. Also own both an O+ and a Reverb. For DCS I would prefer the Reverb. For VR games in general I don't think the Reverb is a "necessary upgrade" when already owning an O+
