  1. ... welcome, I guess? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Steering Dot lead angle But it is indeed directly related to the flashing SHOOT cue... Either something is wrong with it... or there might be a more sophisticated explanation... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. I'm recently learning the A-10C. It happened that the manual has a well consolidated HOTAS mapping table in 4 pages. So I added those pages into the kneeboard, using the tool TWC_Alamo has mentioned above. Not great as it is static, but it solved my 10% of the need. As to my rest 90% need, I'm still waiting for a good solution...
  4. I asked for same advice not long ago. But none of the solution seems ideal to me so far... https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=240877
  5. Oh, one challenge though that I've been thinking but haven't got any ideal solution yet: Since we have multiple MFD/DDI in the Hornet, what's your solution of using this box to control all of them? One of my thought is to implement a thumb key at the bottom of that panel, like the space bar of a normal keyboard, as a "modifier". One of Razor's key pad product has such design. But it is still not good enough: 1) it'll only let you control 2 rather than 3 of the MFDs; 2) keep on holding down that modifier while operating isn't good enough...
  6. Can't agree more with this idea and design. I came up with almost identical idea a while ago, but haven't got the tool and time to actually implement it... Good to see it is getting real... Great work, keep it up!
  7. CPU/GPU could heat up and cool down really quick, even in seconds. In your case of several minutes, it could be the overall ventilation of your PC case, or maybe something else... Anyway, monitor your HW by using free tools like CPUID HWMonitor could help you to locate the problem.
  8. Unrealistic maybe? Forgot which one, but a well known server gives you a basically useless F10 map which shows nothing on it, no BLUE no RED, you can't even see yourself... nav under that situation is quite real but a bit too challenging for me......
  9. over heating causing degradation of performance, maybe?
  10. Hey buddy, thanks for the confirmation! Didn't expect myself to be on that weird spot... Guess I shall start to learn to work without AI AWACS...
  11. The latter case is what I fear of... I don't want to make a team kill and get kicked because their IFF is not on or properly functioning... ... or maybe that's not my problem?:music_whistling:
  12. Hmmm, very good point...... Though I thought it could be quite rare to encounter such out-of-range situation, it was indeed about 210nm away from AWACS... IIRC, there were multiple friendly fighters (F/A-18 and/or F-14) nearby closer to those bandits, so theoretically they should be used as the second source by my IFF? I guess this didn't work well might because the targets I tried to IFF were also unknown to them?

  14. I'm sort of ok with IFF for all the time until tonight. I was on Hoggit GAW server, as I always recently. It was all ok until I get into approx. 30nm to Beslan where there're a lot of ground units and a handful of enemy fighters not far away. So when I'm heading towards Beslan, I can't IFF any contacts on my radar page: move cursor upon, depress the button on my HOTAS to IFF, and the contact remains yellow. Tried to IFF another targets, yellow the same. Tried to lock one of those targets, yellow the same. I tried almost all the some 6-8 contacts within 40nm, none of the attempts gave me either friendly or foe response, all of them remain yellow... yes, at that point of time, I was staring at a radar page that's full of yellow marks... It scared me, so I turned away. When I was heading opposite of my original direction, there came in new contacts on my radar page, and then the IFF started to work properly... I turned in again, IFF works ok at start, but not for long. When I was pursuing a bandit, an unknown contact popped up at my 10 at about 10nm. I try to IFF, it remains yellow... so I switch to F10 map, and realised it has to be a foe. Right when I switched back to F1 view, I saw a missile flying towards me from it at close proximity... Well, next thing I know is I'm staring at my broken hornet with my broken heart... Could it be a bug? 15. If I understand it correctly, we are getting 2.5.5 as the upcoming update?!! And Wags said the VR improvement will be one of the major feature of 2.5.5... Is it too early to get excited about this?
  16. As an ex-software-engineer, I thought Python has now evolved to version 5, wondering why I missed the entire Python 4......:D
  17. VR HMD+JHMCS is the answer before TWS comes out... I can engage up to 4 targets. Quite risky of course...... lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Just to report back. Without any other application, I so far can only use SteamVR Dashboard feature to display my desktop while DCS running at the "background". However, the desktop is a bit far and I can't figure out a way to pull it closer, so not really helpful if I wanted to read text from a webpage or messenger app. Anyway, to bring desktop up in DCS VR, I'll have to use alt+tab to switch to other application, and press Win key. (DCS will not allow me to use Win key, so I'll have to switch to other app first) 6 little circle will pop up with 5 in a row and 1 below. Click the lower one will bring up the desktop. This is how far I went so far, though it doesn't really meet my expectation. I tried to click the middle one of the 6 little circle which shows "Mixed Reality Home", that'll bring me back to the Cliff house, but DCS will be forced closed... Not sure what I've done wrong. Totally agree with p1t1o's vision on how multiple VR environment shall unify. The current implementation added too much head cost, and is simply not neat.
  19. Haha, silly me. Only realise now that Virtual Desktop is actually an application... I thought that's WMR's desktop which I failed to bring up in VR games...
  20. I thought of that, but when I do MP, targets could be changing which kneepad wouldn't allow... For SP mission, its the best way no doubt.
  21. Thanks, I'll give Virtual Desktop a try when I get back to my rig tonight. Wasn't able to bring that up last night, guess I'll have to use the VR Controller...
  22. I use WMR (Samsung O+) and find it annoying to put HMD back if I took it off for some quick task like checking other apps, as I then need to readjust HMD position and cursor focus. Those task could be checking SRS status, check message apps or sometimes simply to find out preplanned coordination of a set target and input those data into the weapon delivery systems. So my question is: is there a way to bring the UI/Window of other applications into DCS VR without the need of taking off HMD? Ideally the entire desktop...
  23. Too bad. Wondering whether this will be addressed by the upcoming Data Card feature. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Thanks! It would be interesting as well to see the data of fuel tanks, especially the underbelly one. Always suspected how much would I be disadvantaged when carrying a bag into a dogfight... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
