  2. Well here is my point of view. I have caught some flack for refusing to comment on some systems though others were able to pull some information off the web. Just because the information is on the web does not make the system any less classified. The classifications are there to protect the pilots and equipment from enemy intentions. This being said no one with real world information of classified systems will comment confirm or deny the exisitence of any FOUO, Confidential, Secret, Top Secret, or current COMSEC system operation. Blueridge this wasnt directed at you sir. it was just a geat example. You all have a wonderful day.

  7. I have the engine start on my throttle hat on my saitek no issues
  8. First and FOREMOST... Make sure your throttle is calibrated and that they are all the way at idle before you try to start the engine or nothing will happen

  11. I am on Beta 4 full install. I start a ramp start multiplayer and i get no placarding on my left and right consols. no switch labels at all. just black. is this a bug or what.

  13. Twas the night before christmas and I was behind in my route. The instruments were illuminated and my heading was south. I studied my mission and set my NVG's to engaged. The missles were spooled and the seekers uncaged. I scanned the terrain for targets with zeal when to my surprise movement flashed on the roof below. I tracked the target and set it to SPI. I keyed my mic to identify the track and the JTAC replied why thats St Nick. I couldn't believe and hussled to confirm. I set the view from wide to narrow and slewed the controls. There on my screen in white hot did apear a skinny man with a tiny rocket launcher. A flash, a tone, and betty my dear all began to hollar in my ears. Missle away I announced in my fear. I banked left and then junked right I pickeled my muntion and hollared with cheer. Bombs away, merry christmas and have a very happy new year.
  14. JEFX to understand freq's you have to understand purpose of each radio frequency. UHF and VHF are your standard Line of sight radios. If you can not see the target you can not communicate... Unless a repeater is set up. HF is Over the horizion communications. You can communicate all over the world. Now frequencies fall in to ranges - HF 2.999 - 29.999 Mhz VHF 30-299.975 Mhz UHF 300 Mhz to 3 Ghz Now for guard. Guard is the international and tactical depending on frequency, distress frequencies. International Guard is 243.000 Mhz. So if you tune gaurd your radio will go straight to that frequency. You can use it to send a distress call, or to monitor for a friendly distress call. The emergency radio in the pilots vest will transmit voice on 243 Mhz and beacon on 243 Mhz. Tactical is 282.8 Mhz. Normally. you set all desired mission freq's as presets and then can just change to presets on the desired radio. A repeater is set of radios normally at the max ranges of two staions (in the middle). I receives the signal from one radio and retransmits the signal on another frequency to the next station effectively doubling the range.

  17. Yes you can assign it. but it already has a key command so why not assign that command to your joystick insted. Why reinvent the wheel?
  18. The A-10 flight controls are hydraulic assist. Meaning the controls will function with no hydraulics through the mechanical linkages as posted earlier. :smilewink:
  19. fyi the hydraulic system provides pressure to drive the actuators. not power ;)

Wart doiwnload all 4 setup files and then run setup. if u still have problems then report in the beta forums. not here. that is why they have been moved. look for your answeres in your user CP or in the beta forums.

  23. Have either of you traveled south east asia. They sell them in the market with the label Coolie hat for tourists. so I am not saying I am going to go call some one that but the hat it self has been identified by that for a long time. lets not make a mountain out of some dust.
  24. Are you kidding me... It is the name for a conical asian hat that is prominent in south east asia. Hence the Coolie hat looks like a asian hat (domed). The china hat looks like a chinese buildings roof. The boat switch because it rocks like a boat.
