Scooter in the 16th made a mission for us to do some FAM & I. Only problem is all the aircraft were in the hangars. so when we start up and begin to roll out we explode. is this normal and/or should all aircraft start on the tarmac instead?

Removed to not start a flame war.

I sir am doing that here and there should be at least a couple sales this weekend from my coworkers. :) I luv ED

its lower now. we write for the foriegn techs that will have to translate what the read. so it is much simpler

I am not going to reference this entire post but for what its worth this first paragraph is pretty good. yes it needs an edit but its a good intro to the pitot and static tube. Remeber this is still beta. So reserve the tongue lashing for final relase. :) You really should look up STE (Simplified Technical English) This is a NATO specification and it is hard to read when you are used to the original pub format. But that is all changing... I have to write in it and it comes out looking alot like these examples. Edited ofcourse  Though the TAS and IAS may not have been covered. Dont beat em up just give positive feedback on what needs to be fixed instead of negative.

Part of my job is writing theory for military manuals. The A-10 Theory isnt far off. All it needs is simplified technical english. Ofcourse you all would read that and complain that the are treating you like children.

LMAO :P

pedals are a great idea if you want to get in to the feel of flying

Lio I dont think i am better than anyone else. I just think that if you look in the manual he will find his answer and maybe a few more tidbits that may help alot. This sim is very intense and requires a bit of dedication from the user.

You know when it's time to take a break from DCS A10-C when..

When your wife wakes you up and asks what does spooling one mean and who is betty. well 3 successful starts and 1 good landing so far. -
My quote was more on the manual theory. and the fact that i was curious to see how it was modeled. This is a system I am very intimate with in my job.

on the nellis tacan. CH 12? so 012 and X or Y. Tacan is 126 channels. R and TR are matched mode and channel. Mode being X or Y. A/A and A/A TR are 63 channels apart. So one aircraft is 63 and the other is 126.

k thanks Wags.

I am going to go home tonight and play with this. The theory for ILS and tacan being merged is wrong. two completely different systems. The steering data is derived differently too. Reading the theory in the manual has left me just a little befuzzled.

Diego I luv you.... :)

For the curious: The "What Does it Do in Real Life?" List
Scabbers replied to Stretch's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Couple of minor additions/corrections: In emergency the IFF transmits 3 sets of pulses that show up on the controllers screen as 7700 E. The Mode 4 codes are only lost if power is interupted for the aircraft. not if the IFF is deenergized. The hold switch will allow the codes to be kept. usually used for refueling. such as stopping in transit to refuel at an airstation. Secure voice delay is only functionial in aircraft with a KY-128 also installed. -
f15 strike eagle III was the first real sim to me. though i played everything from flight sim on commadore and up.
-
it wouldnt show on the master caution as that would be nvg coded. but on the cdu it would show on the acaws history if that software is enabled. I do not know if it is ported to the A-10. I know there are other aircraft using this.
-
sobek is the caution modeled to show in different colors?
-
Agree RTM. However if you have someone to learn with it may make things a tad easier. But pick somone as studious as you are so you dont feel like your teaching both...
-
On topic of the L HYD PRESS. can any confirm what color the indication is. If I remember correctly when the pressure drops it shows yellow as a caution. then if there is no pressure or the pump faults it shows red. Can a dev confirm this for the game? is this modeled

we teach em to pump on our aircraft. as for your I can not claim knowledge to equipment or procedures. but pumping is for coming in hot not for normal use. normal use is a couple seconds of brake and let it roll out. pumping is not inteded for all brake applications. i hope that made sense.
-
Anti-skid is not the same thing. with abs you can stand on the brake and your car controls pumping the brakes. The anti skid in an aircraft (atleast the ones i work with) gradually releases pressure to prevent a complete lock up. it does not pump your brakes. Crew is taught to never stand on the brakes in the aircraft unless it is a last resort(landing). hence my point. pump em. you can apply brakes with alot of intesity on taxi. but my post was dealing specifically with landing. Exactly prevents locking. but doesnt pump your breaks. but hey what does 20 years aviation(military) maintenance know about anything.

wow, prove me wrong.... I am flattered. KY-57 is declassified. KY-58 operation is still classified for official use only. This game is not for oficial use only. Hardware is CCI(Cryptographic Controlled Item) meaning hardware is unclassified until coded but is a controlled item. thanks for the heads up ont he load procedure. sent up to NSA. IFF transponders are unclassifed. The mode 4 and 5 hardware and theory is classified. Operation. unclass but the airforce giving permission for full implementation highly unlikely. Hey I could be wrong and would be really cool to see modeled butIT is my *OPINION* that it wont be fully implemented. I am not a dev. dont claim to be.
