  1. I would like to see them introduce preflight sheets such as the airforce uses for the start up (kneeboards). with the routine not the key commands. Then you can just learn to go through the start up. and not L(win)+Home as in blackshark
  2. would adult beverages make you happier? Jackalope :p
  3. I don't know about you but I am willing to be a case of alternative beverages that i put her down in one piece first flight.
  4. it will be nice to have a hog game with a nice fm. and not some piece of crap
  5. anyone remember an atrocious game called USAF. and starting training on the ramp at nellis in a hog?
  6. anytime there is an air threat the load out will consist of 2 AIM-9's. Mandatory. If there is complete air superiority they might go with out but that station is dedicated to aim-9's only so I would think they would always carry two
  7. yes the B has an improved fuel economy. as well
  8. I was in the navy for 20 years as an aviation electronicsa technician. i retired in 2008 and went to work for a defense contractor. i am now an avionics engineer. I write maintenance procedures for the sailors to use.
  9. With the addition of MIDS - Not in the SIM guys. The HOG can receive data linked info from the AWACS and or FAC
  10. Airforce training is flying skills but also to teach the candidates to react in a certain way to inflight emergencies and situations thus ensuring aircrew and or aircraft survivablity.
  11. ok so its the same as the HSI i work with. Ours has the TAD and HSI functions integrated to selctable display modes with different combinations of data. Including a stormscope. that is cool as crap.
  12. makes me homesick
  13. it is nice to have that display with the WP path. however I think in the A10 it might be called an HSD such as the F-16's display. which would either be a 360 deg display mode or 150 deg deisplay mode(150 is a real life display mode)
  14. Basically is a top down plot with the aircraft in the middle.
  15. so was mine. with so many wanting to fly as the real guys do. I would think that would apply. however others always like to be the super pilot.... was just an input :)
  16. i do to. you are not alone
  17. Alpha I whole hardely disagree with #3. Weapon selection is made based on threat level. if you can make a run with the cannon with minimal risk to taking ground fire then that is good. but if not then a longer range bomb toss or rocket/maverick attack would be called for. I mean it really is just common sense. Dont make a dangerous gunzo run just for the thrill. They would ground that guy/gal.
  18. Succ also remember the the FM and avionics in a trainer is much simpler than the A-10 or F-16.
  19. You cross the red line on a airforce tarmac and your ass is on the ground or shot dead. so GOOD LUCK is all I say. I was walking out to our navy aircraft at McChord and I crossed the line. of course we didnt have flight line badges because we were transient and i was about an hour earlier than the schedule and 6 MP's bagged me up until they verified my ID.
  20. The Radalt antennas are usually on the fuselage of an air craft just behind the cockpit in a small air craft and between the wings and tail on larger aircraft IE C-141. Not sure if the antenna would have been there or not.
  21. I assure you it will not be. every aspect of operation and presentation is classified. but you can dream
  22. not exactly correct but close enough everything else was listed as an antenna I just added some clarity for those not in the know. Geeeze. don't get your panties in a bunch ;)
  23. China or iran
  24. nice pics. the AAR-47 is not really an antenna per say but more like a sensor? The 47 is a passive detection system. The sensors are all around the aircraft to give a 360 dergeee strobe radius for detection of threat rocket exhaust and initiates flares automatically. Electro optical sensor
  25. BTW the mask is issued in flgiht clothing when you suit up. they are not left in the aircraft anymore.
