  1. Yeah, I know what you are saying. I just hoped that uploading would be a little easier. Never mind then!
  2. Except maybe the AI in DCS. :D Ok, of course in real life nobody would launch a missile from the maximum range, but datalinked missile would be still deadlier than single missiles I think. Today's computing power is growing very fast, but I have a feeling that real life missiles do not benefit very much from this.
  3. If I understood correctly that is only an anti-ship-missile. So it does not have the same problem I was mentioning before, because ships are too slow to bleed out that missile by changing their course. Also the weapon datalink of the LRASM seems to link it only with its missile launching platform. I am more interested in missiles that can automatically communicate with each other. That would be very interesting. But maybe this kind of weapon is currently top secret. Hopefully I do not get targeted by the CIA now because of posting this. :D
  4. I got a question: Are there any datalinked missiles in reality? I mean missiles that communicate with each other and thus are able to cover a larger area when fired at the same time. E.g. when you shoot an AMRAAM from a long range your opponent only needs to change its course by 45° to bleed out the energy of that missile. But if two AMRAAMS are fired together they could cover a greater area and thus would not need to make big course correction when the target changes its direction.
  5. I could find the soundfiles now, but I am not sure how to set up the Lua files or whatever is needed for modifying the language setting of the Russian airplanes. Anyway I really hope some modders or even ED themself will add more languages and voices to them.
  6. Is there a limit for the picture uploads? I was thinking about starting a thread for my after action reports with some screenshots, but the upload limit is somehow worrying me.
  7. For me it would be completely sufficient, if ED added better 2D-textures and a better crash-modelling for those bomb craters like I had described before in another thread:
  8. Oh, sehr schade!
  10. Is it possible to change the voice language when flying a Russian fighter like the Mig 29? I dont mean just the cockpit voice, but also the voice of your pilot and your wingmen. I am interested in switching the voice language to German, English or some language from the Near East like Persian or Iraqi.
  11. Now I am reassured. Thx!
  12. Hi, I am 29 years old Tiramisu. My flight sim career started with the Microsoft Combat Flightsimulator 3 when I was around 15 years old. Many years later I have bought FSX and it was fun playing all the different missions. This was the time I was getting into flight simulators more seriously. Later I have bought Xplane 10 and 11 along with the highly detailled and expensive model of the 767. After flying civil airplanes I started to play combat simulators again. First I tried IL-2 Battle of Stalingrad, which gave me some thrilling and heartbeat moments, because of those realistically looking and close dog fights. A few months after playing IL-2 I started to look after DCS and my interest in it grew bigger because of the great graphics since patch 2.5. Of course realism is also very important to me. So when I saw the F18 Hornet in a bundle sale together with the persian map and the SU-33 for almost 80€ I thought that it is a good time to get into DCS and I did not regret it.
  13. I would go even further and put HDR-effects on my wishlist. It would be fantastic, if DCS introduced HDR like in Xplane-11:

    Gabby Wingmen

Is there a way to make AI wingmen say only important things? If you completely tune them out, then you might miss important things like when they start a ground attack letting you know that you should wait until they finished their attack. I think if my wingmen would just stop to alert me on every unknown, distant or unimportant airplane they detect, then they would get much less annoying. Also different kind of voice-overs would improve the immersion instead of listening to the same voice all the time. *putting this on a wishlist*
  15. I got that information from https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/de/products/planes/flaming_cliffs/. It is saying "Expanded theatre of operations map into eastern Georgia." (And the German version of Steam is saying "Erweitertes Einsatzgebiet in Richtung Ostgeorgien") That sounds very much like a small map expansion to me, but maybe I am wrong.
  16. Ok, now I am starting to understand what this is about. Although I am mostly interested in the Mig-29, I wonder if the the map expansions in MAC are worth buying it. I am not sure if it adds something to the Persia map or just contains parts of the already existing map. I am also a little bit curious about the map expansion in eastern Georgia, which seems to be only available in FC3 currently. Edit: Also I wonder how good the improvements of the AI and the mission editor are in FC3. In MAC this kind of additional features is not mentioned.
  17. Is there a way in the mission editor to tell a certain AI group to attack an airplane, that has been detected by the AWAC in some region? I am very interested in how to do it.
  18. The G-Limiter can actually be quite dangerous if it does not allow you to pull up at a higher rate when you want to avoid a crash on the ground. But that is probably another topic. Btw. I have asked another question about the realism of the Hornet, but I accidently posted it in a wrong subforum: Edit: I have tried it myself now after bombing an airstrip with Mk83 Snakeyes bombs, but even when I was rolling with 120 knots over one of the bomb craters my Hornet could still takeoff without big problems. So it is a little bit disappointing that bombing an airstrip in DCS just adds small bumbs on it instead of making it totally unusable.
  19. Good to know! Are the airplanes in MAC going to be better modelled than the old ones in FC3? I personally always prefer the more realistic versions with clickable cockpits, but I am not sure if I can upgrade my airplanes to the high fidelity versions, because I am using the Steam version of DCS. Edit: I have read somewhere that ED made a contract with the Russian government promising to not create a clickable or detailled functional cockpit of any Russian fighter jet. Can anyone confirm this?
  20. I have bought the SU-33 in a bundle and for now this is the only plane I got from FC3. So now I wonder, if I should buy another airplane from the FC3-DLC or wait until there are better models available, because it seems like some of the models in FC3 are much older and less detailed as the newer ones like the A-10C or the F18. Maybe I should even wait for FC4 in case a sequel will be released. Currently I am thinking about to buy the MiG-29, after watching some interesting videos about it. So what are you guys thinking?
  21. Yeah, that worked! First I thought that setting up the curve instead of the saturation in the axis tuning in DCS would not change the angle limits, but for some reason it worked well.
  22. Oh, so you are saying that in my case I did not get any warnings, because the F14 itself did not radar-lock me. I thought that I would already get a warning when a Fox 3 missile like the AIM-54 has locked me up, but maybe that was a wrong assumption.
  23. Could you please explain which profile you mean? I have found some threads about this issue and about how to change something in the Server.lua file in ...\DCSWorld\Config\View, but it did not work for me. I tried many kind of changes, but nothing worked yet. The reason why it would be still realistic to raise the view more than 90° is that this angle seems to be applied for the upper bound of your screen. In real life that would be like if you would barely see a point in top of you, but the human field of view is much larger than that point, if you know what I am saying. I mean when I am looking up in real life, then I see everything above me at one glance. However, in DCS the Track-IR only allows you to see one half of the top. For the other half you need to turn your head, which is not realistic and it is very handicapping.
  24. As far as I know the Hornet F18 is the most detailled model in DCS at the moment, but surely even this model has its limits in terms of realism, which I would like to know. E.g. the "professional flight model (PFM)" is probably very realistic in most situations, but maybe it starts to fail in some extreme situations. Also I wonder how well the material fatigue is modelled in the Hornet like when you disable the G-Limiter and then go over its limit. I tried this, but I could not notice any damage to the airplane due to extreme maneuvers. Until now I could only find some vague informations about the level of details of this model, so I hope to find some further answers here.
  25. In DCS (and in IL 2) I have problems using Delan Clip, while in Xplane 11 and ETS 2 I had no problems. The reason is that in fighter simulators like DCS I have to be able to look all the way up to keep track on my enemies. However, for some reason it is very hard in DCS and in IL 2 to look up or at least it does not work very intuitive for me. Does anyone have the same problems? It is kind of hard to describe for me. Maybe someone could share his tracking curve profile in FaceTrackNoIR with me. I am flying in the Hornet btw. if that makes any difference. Edit: The problem might be that you cannot move your head more than 90° up, so you have to look up and turn around your head at the same time to get the full view on what is going on above your head. I just wish that it was possible to look up for about 130° instead of just 90°.
