  1. Thanks for the info Yo-Yo. You just made a sale. :)
  2. "The effect of roll rate increasing using air brakes is not implemented yet" Does this mean that this effect will be in the release version of DCS A-10C, or that it may be included in a future version? Thanks! :)
  3. TO IA-IOA-I FLIGHT MANUAL USAF SERIES A-lOA AIRCRAFT Serno 75-00258 and subsequent SECTION VI FLIGHT CHARACTERISTICS Pg 6-1 "Roll Control The ailerons provide satisfactory roll control throughout the flight envelope. Roll response increases with increasing speed brake setting up to approximately 20%, is relatively flat between 20% and 40%, then begins to fall off again until roll response at 80% again equals response at 0% deflection. Roll rates up to 130 degrees per second can be expected with 0% speed brakes at 300 KIAS, and up to 200 degrees per second with 40% speed brakes at 300 KIAS." So it seems that in the real aircraft (A10A) the roll rate was somewhat adjustable by deploying the speed brakes up to 40%. Effectively changing the shape/deflection of the ailerons. Question is, does the sim model this? Can someone try this speed brakes out to about 40% and check the roll rate vs speed brakes in? Cheers
  4. Hi all just got TIR4 the other day. I am getting a huge FPS drop when TIR4 is turned on in BS. Using DcsMax1.7 and TIR V5. Affintity set to dual core. TIR off 50+ fps, TIR on 20 fps. Any ideas? Help. Thanks. Not sure why but FPS are back to normal. Must've been something else running at same time in background...
  5. Oh fer pete's sake just draw the missing bit on your monitor and be done with it. :pilotfly:
  6. With vertical frame. http://www.richard-seaman.com/Wallpaper/Aircraft/Helicopters/Russian/Ka50TopView1oClock_1.jpg Nicely done. Now the patch will be delayed by another two weeks. ;)
  7. I am simply astonished that ED would put out such a polished, phenomenal simulation with incredible depth, at such a LOW price!
  8. Youve got to request the NV goggles from your ground crew, same as refuelling... then toggle them with your helmet sight key. They swap your helmet sight for a NV setup.
  9. Check this link for explanation. About halfway down page. Contra-Rotating Coaxial Rotors. http://everything2.com/title/Helicopter%2520yaw%2520control
  10. Thats a wishlist with some bugs mixed in.
  11. Yes every 4th or 5th raindrop/snowflake is modified to accept a small pyrotechnic charge in their base. :smilewink:
  12. Sounds like you are not selecting inner (i) or outter hardpoint (y) as applicable.
  13. You mean use the cyclic to steer correct? :joystick:
  14. I think the answer to his question "is there a way to auto lock a flying target?" is no.
  15. You sure he is holding an Ak? or is he holding a tubey thing? or can a guy with an Ak shoot you dead thru your chopper? Is the Ka50 glass able to withstand Ak rounds?
  16. Looks like an abandoned airbase. No runway markings, road thru runway, no buildings... also found this below. "GEL 29.96 million, according to the MoD, will be spent on reconstruction of air base in Kobuleti" http://www.civil.ge/eng/article.php?id=18640
  17. Or you can check out this thread: http://simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/2661897/X52_non_PRO_Profile_Share.html#Post2661897
  18. Is this happening at very low alt? I think the ap kicks off below a certain height...
  19. I can give you a definitive answer on when it will be released. It will be released when ED deem it ready to be released! :smartass: I suspect this will be in two weeks... maybe earlier, maybe later. :music_whistling:
  20. And don't you have more important things to do than to question whether we have more important things to do? :pilotfly:
  21. 2 weeks. ;)
  22. I think (might be wrong) that until you turn your radio selector back to its original position (away from ground crew selection), the AI ground crew still has his headset plugged into your chopper via the external jack. He is upset because you are trying to takeoff with him attached and he is concerned about dangling from the helo whilst attached solely by the headset cable... That is why they bother you and he sounds agitated.
  23. Wot happened to that cat? LOL
  24. I rate this SIMULATION  x2. Its been years since I have been this impressed with a sim. I'm only scratching the surface since getting it and quite frankly I am amazed at the stunning level of detail, systems modelling is superb and the immersion level is awesome. It runs good on my rig. The graphics are scalable and I can get very nice FPS. It is a stable program out of the box. For the above reasons I give DCS BS a starting score of 100. IMO the best measure of a quality sim, is how well it draws you into the simulated world and causes you to lose track of time in the real world. This sim is already causing me me grief in this respect with the Wife. Way to go ED, and team. Nicely done! Well worth the wait. I deduct one point for each of the following reasons: I wish the tree's had collision modelling (-1). I am dissapointed that trackir 4 is only supported trackir1 users are left out in the cold (-1). I would have liked the ability to save a mission in progress (-1). I wish my wingmen could rearm/refuel at a farp and then continue mission with me (-1). Dual core not supported natively (-1). I am also wish that I could smell the cordite when firing the cannon, however I have refrained from any deducting points for this as the DCS BS team made up for it in other areas. I give DCS BS a score of 95%.
