  1. There's a specific reason why the Apache is a challenge to get used to: All the helmet sights we have so far just display a bit of symbology, so very different.
  2. In VR, helmet sight symbology appears in both eyes, but shouldn't it be right eye only?
  3. No it isn't. Kickstarter allows entrepreneurs to offload much of their financial risk onto other people, while maintaining 100% of the equity in their company. It's a win win for you (and I don't blame you for using it). I, therefore, would not take on that risk for you without something in return: in this case, a heavy discount on the final product, which I personally don't think you're offering at the current prices. Just my honest feedback. Regardless, I hope you succeed.
  4. The difference is if you don't receive anything from those companies, you can get your money back.
  5. I've done a quick search and sure, most are generic boxes with less features, but the only one that I can find that comes close in price is VPC's box. Most cost half, or less, than this one. So not off to a good start on the value front, and when you combine with the risk of kickstarter, I think this is in the order of twice the price it should be IMO.
  6. I'm sure you're right, and I totally accept that view. On the other hand, a Warthog throttle costs less, and has the added complication of moving parts. It's a lot of money, especially with the added risk of being a crowd funded product with no guarantee of delivery.
  7. Looks very nice, but also very expensive for what it is IMO. Shame.
  8. Waving hands? Check the outside view, is your launch bar definitely engaged with the shuttle? You might not be forward enough.
  9. I think if systems had been released in a completed state it would have been sensible advice. As you point out though, it's been an exercise in frustration.
  10. That's how the TACAN display on the HUD works, just to confuse you!
  11. It sounds to me like you've misunderstood how to use TACAN. The arrow points in the direction of the course you've set. If the arrow is pointing up the HUD, your heading matches the course; if you turn, the arrow will turn accordingly. Its displacement away from the VV indicates whether you're to the left or right of the course you've set. In the image below, the course set is approximately 280, and the aircraft is to the right of course. Here's a VOR trainer that you can play with. It works in a very similar way to TACAN: https://e6bx.com/ifr-simulator/
  12. What? The A10 released near as damnit feature complete.
  13. It's not stopped updates on other modules. It's possible there's a specific reason why the SC has been impacted, but it's not unreasonable for the OP to ask the question without the default "it's EA" excuse being regurgitated.
  14. Agreed, I also find this a problem.
  15. Looks fine to me. Bear in mind that as you increase G, your ability to remain level becomes more difficult to maintain as the plane becomes more sensitive to bank angle.
  16. Just as well you've given up, I don't think anyone else has a clue what are you're talking about
  17. Where two players may have the same stick with limited buttons, one may have a throttle with more buttons than the other. This might force one person to use modifiers, where the other could use extra buttons on the throttle. You can't account for every scenario.
  18. It depends on the pitot design and failure mechanism. Some pitots have drains. If the front of the pitot blocks but the drain remains clear, you'll only have static pressure reading and the ASI will drop to 0. If there's no drain, or it blocks too, then yes you'll get the problem as you describe. Not sure which is true for the Hornet though.
  19. The Dunning-Kruger effect seems to be invoked here, from both ends of the spectrum. New-ish players think that it's possible to improve the training to encompass everything because they've picked up some of the basics - they've no idea how far they still have to go. The experienced players think it's easy to find the resources for everything - they've forgotten how far they've come. Unfortunate that the OP couldn't have been more diplomatic, otherwise it might have been possible to meet in the middle and come to a consensus on how things could be improved.
  20. Someone supports your view, and you still manage to come across as if you're disagreeing with them. Sums up your why you're failing to persuade people quite nicely I'd say.
  21. It could be. A shame that Vertigo72 has drowned out this valid point by arguing for 18 pages that 'better' means 'perfect' and 'getting started' means 'able to do everything'.
  22. It's your assertion that the training resources are inadequate for getting started, so the burden of proof is on you. Also, you say mastering now, when previously you said getting started. Anyway, I'm out. You've got nothing productive to say so as far as I'm concerned you're just trolling.
  23. The manuals and training missions combined are good enough for most new players to find out how to accomplish most tasks at a basic level. It may not cover everything, but you'll learn enough to ask the right questions if you need more information. Your argument that they're totally inadequate because there are some gaps is just ridiculous.
  24. The fact we've taken 12 pages to get somewhere suggests you weren't as clear as you think you were. A shame, as I think the lack of depth of training you've brought up is worthy of discussion, but undermined by you rubbing people up the wrong way.
