  1. I would be very interested in fully functional Leapmotion implementation for DCS. That would indeed be awesome
  2. https://uploadvr.com/htc-vive-pro-2-full-specs/ Thoughts.
  3. Wags has just put up a video on the SLAM-ER today, it looks pretty good. Regarding the JDAM, maybe it's relevant to that but it looks to me as though that is still not implemented on JDAM either, I could be worng.
  4. I am noticing the missiles will not dive also, at least not until well past the target even when I have put in a dive angle (though I am not sure if the dive angle thing is working correctly at this time)
  5. I’ve heard from people that know a lot more than I do that DX12 “upgrades” are often not what they’re cracked up to be. Vulcan does tend to have better bang for buck. Let’s hope they’re right.
  6. Thanks very much, I like to be able to use it in all modes. I'll give that all a go, cheers.
  7. Ok, thanks very much, I'll stick with it and try the white hot mode too. So it looks like boresighting on the ground is what makes this weapon practical too I guess. I tried that the other day and coulnd't get the thing in AG mode while on the ground so I waited till I was in the air in a multiplayer server and then I got punched in the face!
  8. I am having so much trouble with this, I don't see why there is a need to boresight if you're then going to do an auto handoff with a D model AGM for example. In any case, I wait to be within 7 miles, I have both WPN page up, TGP page up with AUTO and I then select TMS forward and I have only occasionally fort the crosshairs to collapse and lock successfully. It would be great if there was an in game tutorial on this one where the TGP and MAV seeker is not already looking at the target like they are in Matt Wagner's video. This thing is really frustrating!
  9. I’ve got a G1 and I love it. Hard to think how G2 could be that much better for the turnaround cost. Even if I’m wrong, it’s not like the G2 is going to be the last VR headset designed and built. What I’m really waiting for is someone to make something like a G2 but have 10-20% wider FOV. Of course that implies a better API being used by DCS and the hardware capable of running it, then, I’m all in! I’m giving it a year or two and then, lookout. I reckon right now you’ve got a headset that is essentially as good as money can buy. Save the turnaround cost for the Gen 3 or 4, no doubt that one will blow your tiny mind. I also suspect that given the cost of both of them is similar, you’re not likely to get much for the G1 as it’s not worth much to anyone except those who already have one and love it.
  10. It should also vary depending wind, weight, drag coefficient (load out) temperature and air density (pressure altitude).
  11. Thanks for the response, are you saying these are the coorect signal strenghts in the Caucusus region? Flying in Australia, the ILS receivers will typically pick up GS and LOC signals much further than I'm seeing here.
  12. Yep sure, so I’m talking about the multiplayer through the inferno servers. Search the comms menu for option “Other” and you’ll see a number of different ways to list missions and some of them will show the waypoint number, target type and if applicable an associated JTAC auto laser code. I’ve done this successfully with the Hornet in the past but not yet with the Viper as I haven’t up till now bee;able to figure out how to change the bomb’s code. Hope that helps.
  13. It may sound like a silly question but what azimuth and angle is your radar at? Of course this can effect your capacity to pick up a target at range.
  14. Ah ha.....now I understand what the RS + RA means. thank you very much......bombs away!
  15. Can someone tell me how to change the GBU laser code on the kneeboard and therefore on the bomb before I start the engine? im attempting to drop LGB on the auto JTAC spots in through the the inferno server but I cant find how to do this. cheers
  16. Is that why he’s useless! It’s hard to get good help.
  17. Can someone tell me what range and azimuth a DCS ILS is useful for? In Australia, ILS will realistically transmit for miles and miles although they are certified for 25nm and +/- 35 degrees of the final bearing. the reason I ask is that too often I am attempting to practice an ILS which ultimately does work but only at something approaching 13nm. I’m not sure if Caucus systems are battery powered or not but that seems pretty poor. I’d also be interested in knowing what wind is needed to force one on?
  18. Has anyone heard any rumours from ED as to whether WMR may or may not be getting closer? Well over 18 months now since we’ve heard anything.
  19. Fair enough, I’ve tried to minimise my interaction with the dark arts of the ME to now, but it makes sense to have a look, thanks.
  20. This is different to other in game missions such as that of the Hornet "Alert 5" Ok, so I've done this mission a few times now with the same results of 100 each time, whether or not I return to Al Minhad it seems, and the same score of 10, you're suggesting for my two low scoring targets? It seems strange to me that in many other missions there is a voiceover and text to indicate mission success but their isn't in this one. It's fair to say that my struggling wingman seems to have great difficulty keeping himself alive in a perfectly serviceable aircraft whether he is being shot at or not, I suppose that shouldn't change my success criteria.
  21. Can anyone help me try to succeed in this mission? I have bombed what I believe to be the two associated buildings (one a valve room and one a power station component) that I am required to take out. I have used both the TGP to visually ident them and also the waypoint data provided in the briefing to confirm that these are the same buildings (which they appear to be, they're both being labelled as "TACAN stations" when I hit them which does not sound right given they're part of the power station infrastructure. I receive "results" of 100 and score of 10 both times that I did this. This doesn't sound awfully successful to me, can someone help me here. I don't think it's necessarily a bug but rather my lack of understanding as to how the scoring and results work. I have attached the debriefing notes here. The mission happens to be a Viper mission but that's not really the issue here rather I am trying to understand mission success criteria. (Surely I deserve a few medals for taking out the Iranian Nuclear program single handedly after old mate elected to use all his fuel on a joyflight then ejected!) Incidentally, the second waypoint listed in my briefing notes is obviously incorrect as it is missing the 09 of N27'(09).632 in latitude. turn out the lights.log
  22. That’s a great idea. I’ve been assuming that they’re too close and might get their weapons off before I turn back in but I’ll certainly give it a crack. I might also run one sortie where I run the other way and see when they do release weapons. Thanks again.
  23. Bump, bump, anyone got any ideas, anyone got airborne in this mission and lived to tell the tale?
  24. So to try to beat this mission I’m doing the following: I taxi straight out, arm the seat and launch immediately behind the two Vipers, I am in full burner and turn immediately to a heading of 115 degrees and stay low while accelerating to M0.9 As soon as I reach M0.9 I pitch up to around 20-25 degrees and maintain full burner in the climb Ill set ECM on to jam, fence in and switch on RWR / DL and go straight to AA mode. When I hear my wingman call mudspike, I tell him to engage bandits, I have no idea whether he does or not. Seems like he’s a pretty shit wingman. On passing angles 20, I come out of mode and go for auto acquisition of any aircraft ahead of me, they’re all hot and hostile, I start firing at every individual TWS lock that show a range of less than 30 miles, which by this stage they all do. The most I can kill in TWS mode is about three aircraft before I get shot down. If I go SAM defensive, I’ll miss that one but then I’m a sitting duck for the next and I can’t get into them. Beaming them (at 90 degree with chaff doesn’t seem to help unless I dive defensive) I’d appreciate any tips from some of the more advanced players.
