  1. really really awesome work there Tyger, I took a look at your Flightschool (thx for preaccess) and I really have to say that there is probably no Flightschool which is THAT "failsafe"... I really recommend this to all new Pilots in DCS !!! after succeeding these lessons, u can apply as a "combatready wingman" in every squadron! I thank u personally for the huge amount of work u put in there, and my GREATEST RESPECT for you SIR, for give it away to the community for free.   2. check out if you can get the exact koordinates -> create a WP or a Markpoint and bomb it with a gbu 38 ... for that u need a spi . if u have created a Wp u can just set the spi to WP with TMS back long and bomb it from high above in CCRPmode. The bomb needs no line of sight , cause its a GPS version and takes its coordinates from the existing spi. allways check that ur spi is set to your current target .... or do u want to bomb the kindergarden at the wp before ? ;-)
  3. well .... sry dragon but i just looked for Sa-15 (thor) it has a range of 12km so thats about 36000 feet ! http://dcswiki.com/index.php?title=9M330 The osa Sa-8 has a range of 7km -> 21000 feet. http://dcswiki.com/index.php?title=9M33 so i would recoment overflying the osa with more than 24k ft above target and engage the Sa-15 with mavs. Sry for correcting u dragon but this hint is just deadly ;-) greets schnarre

  5. did u get more Fps ? for instance if u have 25Fps with one Card do u get 50FPS with 2 cards or only about 30 ? Do u feel microstutters etc etc ....I really like to know . I once had a CF system (long time ago) and i just couldnt get an "at least 30% fps gain" ... for me that is clearly not working ;-) ... not to talk about the HUUUUGE inputlag of mouse and Trackir. btw... bought a 6970 ... now everything maxed out (except civTraffic and water) with 1920x1200 and not falling below 25FPs, even in Mp with 10 Player and lots of smoke and battle going on AND Mav on leftMFD and TGP on rightMFD - Thats all i need check sig for systemspecs schnarre
  6. i think if they ask grafikcard issue in a dcs forum ... i say what is "best" (imho) for dcs and nothing else... for sure there are a lot of games that need nore grafikpower than dcs but than you have to ask in another forum which solution is best for this game .... there is nothing like an *best solution* for games .... it allways depends on what software/game u like to play - and in our case, i suppose, its all about dcs ;) I had no intend to judge btw.... bu if u go for a dual gpu solution without knowing if your game/programm supports that, is like buying a ferrari in the middle of alaska - for sure its the fastest car... but can u really use it in Alaska ? i hope you get my point ;-) .... i do never judge people..... i just try to show different viewpoints that it gets easyer for the people to judge themselves more objectively. Sry for sounding offensive.
  7. sry ... all this sli and cf chit chat makes me laugh until the coke comes out throuh my nose .... its very simple .... choose SLI/CF if get caught in merchandise/advertising phrases OR if u want to play Benchmarks. If you want to get good frames in DCS go for high frequenzi of GPU ... it does not have to be the newest card last generation or even the generation before is good enough for decent frames. if you all doupt my statement ->read more tech reports of MultiGPU poroblems ... find out how much games actually support SLI/CF ...(u just have to understand that a 100% GPUusage gives u hundred fps - 2GPU with 50%usage each gives u just 100 fps.... u will have a fps increase if the programm is optimized for dualGPU and both GPUs work 65% instead of 50% then AND ONLY THEN u will profit from a dual gpu) and believe my 2 cent: best result u get with quadcore with more than 3.5ghz, 4 gig ddr3 1600mhz or better, at least ATI 4870 (or nvidia pendant) for 1650x1080, and the most luxurious part u need for dcs series is a SSD. in other words CPU: prefer higher clock instead of more cores (imho only 2 threads in DCS: sound/rest) GPU:prefer higher clock instead of more cores (no actual sli/CF support) RAM:take at least 4 gig(WIN7) and go for higher freq instead of more RAM SSD: reduces stuff-reloading times due to its fast acces time 0.1ms - 5ms and u ready to go .... everything else is just for the bin

  10. i was in spectator mode and i had 7 frames when the "7shipgroup" lined up on the rwy... now here it comes: when everybody turned off their lights i had 19 frames ... check my signature for my systemspecs ;-) =STP= Schnarre

  12. Hello there, I want to ask if anybody knows a way to adjust the loadouts which i can choose via radio in MP ??? In Beta stage it was possible to adjust the loadouts in ME and afterwards i was able to choose these adjusted payloads in MP. Is there a Textfile or sth similar to change these presets ? =STP= Schnarre

  19. well, if you just want to learn about the Shark ... i recommend joining on one of the =STP= servers and visit our TS3....we allways try to help people as much/good as we can.... Actually we(SpareTimePilots) are a German Squadron and we do not take this game tooooo serious ;-) ... i will say there is lots of time for laughing so just join our server - call for help and in 95% you will get the infos wich take you to the next step ;-) Most of our pilots are able to speak english though not perfect ;-) Hop in give it a whirl =STP= Schnarre

  21. well i do not fully agree: the vikher flies over 7.5 km and as experienced , the roland takes you on his laser at 8.something Km so...stay at 9 km switch to manually fire and take it out from outside his threat-radius it works .... another taktik is(allthough not quite real i think): flying below 10m (R.alt) prevents sam start from a roland. As long as im concerned he still does lock u with his laser but he will not shoot if u stay below 10m... both above described taktiks against roland, work out fine if you stick to the minimum range/height. I do not claim that this is fully realistic! .....thats not my intention either

  23. I hope they dont "ride a dead horse"(developing a terrain engine which doesnt look as good as outerra), ... this enginething "looks" quite fancy and i would buy a flighsim with this terrain ... no matter which plane, just to have this amazing feeling/look of "flying over real land" schnarre
