  2. True.... your pretty lost when flying without those views. Best thing (IMO) put the zoomview on a joystickslider and use it as "binocular"...just "overwatch" the horizon and you will see very small "dots" whick will be huge hinds when they are close...just look out for "small dark pixelmistakes", choppers in more than 10km are not bigger than 1 or two pixel ;-) Its very importent to spot them before they spot you ! if its not working out like that - go low and fast, try to make hooks like a rabbit -flying straight is your death !

  7. add a SSD and every game runs sweet ^^ 920@4ghz eats every "StateOfTheArt"game for breakfast as somebody allready said, you dont need a 5870 for playing dcs on max grafikdetails... I have a OCed 4890 and i run everything on max, and i even had resources for some imagequality-tweaking with frazers awesome tuning guide. check the signature for my Hardwarespecs.

  9. sure the ground effekt helps BUT imagine to be in a vortex with descen of slow7m/s from 50m ALt. ....you do not stay long enought in the alttitude in wich the groundeffect appears that u can take benefit out of it :smartass: a "pretty sure" schnarre :pilotfly:
  10. well .. thats not fully true. Remind that this chopper is built for carrying a lot of fuel an weapons. so - if u load no weapons even no gunammo(about450kg) and only 25%fuel you have 90%chance of "pulling" the Shark out of the vortex with raw and brute force(using the collective and extraengine power)... dunno if its like that in reality , but i experience a lot of situaions like that "in the game" schnarre
  11. we do often fly Formation when flying the "freeflightmission" Just watch out for: =STP= server 1 =STP= server 2 =STP= server 3 we do have as well a TS3-Server with the Ip 193.192.58.7:5430 pw: stpTS3 (I have the permission to post the TSinfo straight from the host/Owner/Admin/CallMeGod/HammersB*tch-=STP= Phantom :lol:) Feel free to organize in gamechat and load a freeflightmission with servmanmod but please ... mind the majority :smartass:.... and of course the =STP= members ;-) schnarre

  13. allways be aware that you try to move a 9tons Mass "very quick" try to avoid "hasty" maneuvers , you CAN do heavy steering input BUT not "instantly" This is in my opinion a very big hint in controlling the shark. Also good to know is the point: you need a lot more collective while hovering than while forward flying- so- when slowing down to 0kmh u need to constantly increase Bladeangle/collective, and pay attention to ur VVI and make sure that u do not descent faster than 3-5 m/s (depends on the payload) ... that should be enough that you dont get into a vortex . hope that helps ..infact it helped me to avoid 95% of all vortexes Schnarre *a Sharkanatik Amateur*
  14. Only buying a SSD and constantly reducing bottlenecks on your system will help u get rid of these stuttering. For example: have a c2quad @4ghz and a GTX285 and only 2gig of DDR2 1066mhz RAM ->you still have huge reloading lags but have a c2quad @ 3,5ghz and a Hd4890 and 4gig DDR3 with 1600mhz Ram ---> u will have a lot less lags I Tried what i wrote ! Playing Dcs at 1920x1200 16xAF; 12xAA(even Edgedeteckt in CCC-->24xAA) Useing Frazer tuning guide: i set lod->5 ; Farclip 80000 and last but not least I tweaked away the "seeThroughBuildings" by editing the "fogParam2" to kk"0" All in all , with 9 choppers in sight on a carrier i had "playable" 12-15 Frames (everyone else in Ts was about 3-6 fps, and some of them HAD I7systems!) while normal playing with up to 10 people on the server my Fps wont fall under 33 ! Check out my system if u dont believe =STP= Schnarre EDIT: have to add, i feel/see no stuttering , even when playing with 15 Fps its not lagging and stuttering its more like have "fluent/constant" low frameskk

  16. only singleplayer to adjust the settings and benchmarking/optimizing the graphics. Real flying happens for me only in MP .....if i want to play offline - i check my gameboy schnarre

  18. i like the wind , the malfunctions, the feeling of the weight, the adrenalin when your autopilots are damaged in low altitude in the middle of 3 linebackers... FULL REAL what else ...;-) schnarre
  19. i think they are quite useful to get a quick overview of whats behind u while formation flying and in close combat . (in fact the quality is good enough to even see a flightmembers number if he is 20 -40m behind you) BUT to be useful they have to be ...lets say "easy to use/access" And thx for the axis-tip.... i tried it all before i wrote the thread and no axis attitude is playable schnarre
  20. My PROBLEM is that i allmost have to stand up from my chair if i want to see anything in my rearviewmirors. My QUESTION is, if it is possible to make a mod which allowes to adjust the rearviewmirrors (like in a car left/right/up/down) The BACKGROUND is that its possible though to adjust the trackir profile to match my needs with the mirror, BUT if i do so i am "bouncing" :bounce: up and down in the cockpit like sitting on a rubber ball because trackir is too sensible. schnarre[AGGRO]

  23. Singleplayer doesnt start anymore ! Afew days ago i did a clean up on my PC. delete unneeded files(old downloads and stuff on my desktop),empty the trashcan, defragmentate(?) the whole system, and i put on a "newer" grafikdriver(ATI 9.1). Since then my SPshortcut doesnt start BS anymore , i tried with the MPshortcut and it works.   24. well i tried it and i have to say it works in blackshark as well as in arma . it gives me 15-25 frames in addition in blackshark and 5-10 frames in arma ! for me it works fine ! ... more than that :thumbup: my system intel 8500 E0 stepping @ 4.0something ghz @FSB 450 mhz 2gig patriot ram @ i think something over 500 mhz win xp 32 bit and a ati hd4870 1gig (overclocked but not much ;-) with resolution 1920x1200 Schnarre
  25. HIHO.. first of all u have to turn on ur HMD/S (helmet mounted device/sight) 2. Press "O" to switch on the Shkval 3. and last : if u want to move ur Shkval slaved to ur head u just have to keep pressing the "O" button while looking around. if u release the "O" button the Shkval stops at once. greetz schnarre
