  1. I want it all and I want it now! Well, at least I voted for all - just to be fair. ;)
  2. The F/A-18C would be my all-time favorite US-jet (still doesn´t beat no 1 - the old MFG Tornados ;) ). Very small, but 2 engines, carrierl operations, multirole, sexy and a character. I don´t like these shiny glas pits of the latest designs - better stick to the 80`s. Considering that the F/A-18E would need a different 3D modell (simply scaling the size wouldn´t do it methinks) and a new cockpit model I do not think it is realistic to expect 2 planes in one go, if ED wants to keep its high standard. So would prefer the old "analog" and small sized F-18, but considering the DCS background is linked to real contracts, I would be surprised if its the old C version. Here is a nice and brief overview over the different types: From: http://www.fas.org/programs/ssp/man/uswpns/air/fighter/f18.html
  3. Purchase BS2.0 an download patch 1.1.1.1. ;)
  4. Doesn´t that depend on the settings of the mission? AFAIK you can check this in the mission editor, if AA areas or units shall be displayed on the map. If you uncheck this, there should be no blue or red areas on the ABRIS anymore. At least it was that way in 1.02., but I am not sure, which option/settings it was.
  5. I tried BS2 yesterday and enjoyed the new sound and look and also the new "feeling". What confused me, was the new look of the power lines and white shining bridge pillars. Is there anyway to get rid of the thick beams of the power lines or the white sparkling bridge pillars? My System: I7-2600 8GB RAM ATI6950-2GB (drivers, well guess not the latest, they change so fast) Win7-64bit BS Settings: All on maximum, switched off traffic
  6. Damn, just have reorganize my weekend... ...but anyhow thanks ED.
  7. It`s been too many years since I tinkered around with the F-15, but I am pretty sure there is a speed brakes indication/monitoring, similor to the ones of the A-10A. Take a look into the manual, that will help. ;) Concerning navigation online on full-switch server, you don´t need a printed map, even though methinks it is helpfully. I study the briefing before take off and recall where the waypoints are and look for general landmarks to get my bearings. If you play a little longer in the old theatre of ED, you will get familar with the Caucasian map. Just a matter of practise. There are some issues with the RWR and Launch-Warning caused by different versions of client and host, but as far as I remember the 104th Server is hosting a FC2 version, so you should have no problems. I guess you were flying low and got hit by a IR guided missle. You`ll get no warning for IR launched missles, surface or airborne launched. For MiGs or Sus - they have an electro-optical tracking device, which enables them to find, track and launch an IR missle on you, without you getting any warning. ;)
  8. No, you just get lost if you get too close. Especially with the old Biplanes it is recommended to stick to the VFR... ;) You can also try it yourself. RoF is free to download and the free version comes with 2 flyable planes. Enough for testing. :pilotfly:
  9. In my eyes RoF has currently the best clouds for a PC sim. Don´t know if they are suitable for fast-movers, but with the Bi-planes I can spend hours just circling around them. :pilotfly: Few examples (acutally with the old, limeted viewing distance):
  10. I would like a UH-60 or other transport system because it is different from the usual fly-around-blow-up-stuff thing. OK the Inf AI in DCS is not really sophisticated, but still in BlackShark I find the best part supporting attacking infantry and watching the little dots advancing to a point. Sure it could be better, but you could also imagine a SAR mission online, for downed A-10 jockeys f.e., or just drop some Stinger-Man-Pad somewhere and surpsie some Ka-50 players... :joystick: To it me was always to best part of DCS BlackShark to get somewhere into a position, not the blowing up tanks, but the getting safely there and out again. If I now fly a Mi-24 or UH-60 somehow find my way through dangerous spots into f.e. a town, land there, and get safely out again is far more satisfying, than just flying around and blowing up stuff with the bravery of being out of range. But that just might be me, but I voted for the UH-60. :pilotfly:
  11. Here you might find the "X-tended Mod". A community project well advanced, giving the game a new dimension. Also look for the CODEA script. A modification enabling you to crew pilots and assign them jobs in a carrier fleet. Great thing to watch a self-maintianing fleet of capital ships spilling out 50 fighters to charge head on for a Xenon Patrol... :) PS: For us Germans, you find also many hints and useful stuff here.
  12. Great to see there is new mission available. ;) Played the other 2 over and over too many time... 8) Hope to find some time in the coming days to get back into my shark...
  13. Jepp, until we will see the FW190A4 in SoW the WWII planes really suck, especially the Supermarines. :megalol: But the Emil and Hawker Hurricane I has style, thats for sure. :joystick: BTW did I mention that guided weapons are for pussies? :pilotfly: :music_whistling: Anyway, what was the topic? Ah, no, neither of the two mentioned will be released this year, said Paul...
  14. I haven´t looked into DCS-A10C yet, even though I have it installed, but have other priority at the moment. If you say such a function is already given in DCS-10C I maybe should consider to wait till next summer for a maybe upcoming patch of DCS:BS, or maybe not? Well, sortability is another point. I am building on a mission, which I have around 30% done and reached now 70 flags and I started to comment the tirggergroups using the trigger above "ONCE: Comment for below X" but that is not really statifying, so a better comment option would be great too. If you haven´t looked in to the mission for a week, it takes you hours to recall and figure out all what you have done the last 6 months before, always checking into the triggers, flags and scrolling up down, even if you have a system for yourself for the trigger names, which I have otherwise I would get lost after 50 triggers. So I hear what you say concerning the better grouping utility. ;)
  15. I would like to add to this very good list of suggestions the request for a possibility to add a further "radio option menu point" something like: "->Contact FAC-> Request status ID#X" with an answer similar to: " `Callsign#-Player for `FAC Callsign`: `Display message ID#X defined in ME`" This would give the mission designer the possibility to let the player request a certain Flag status via a message. Therefore a new ME message type would be useful, which could be assigned to a flag. This would give a player the possibility to request his task or the mission status by radio menu. Till now I displayed a message with the current missions status and/or to brief the player in his task by a trigger activated continueously while the player is in certain zone around the airfield. To display a message by request via communication menu, would be far better methinks.
  16. Ok, I misunderstood you. I personally never experienced that after take off, but I think I never engaged autohoover shortly after takeoff. ;)
  17. No, for the autohoover it doesn´t matter how long you fly. If you engage him at too low alts, the AP stabilization quits and you find your self in a rodeo ride, fingering for the the AP switches. I rarly use autohoover and I usally take my time for take off, due to that I like to customize my flightplan in the ABRIS and PVI, which always takes some time. ;) But on a multiplayer server with enemy jets looking for you the autohoover becomes handy to hide somewhere in a city and go for a coffee, while you wait till the jet gets bored or runs out of fuel.
  18. Jepp, I guess that is something "russian". I always wondered if such a system behavior would be tolerated in western aircrafts, where everything is designed idiot proof/ fail safe. Russian pilots must be a little smarter, than western pilots I guess. ;) I mean, instead of simply disabling the autohoover function below that critical altitude, the pilot can accidently engage the authoover find himself low and without any stabilization. ?:
  19. Nope, there is no such thing in the ME, unfortunatly.
  20. Already finished translating the A10C manual into plattdütsch? ;)
  21. Hi Luke, engaging autohover at heights below 10m causes your autopilot dampers to disengage, so your ka-50 looses it´s stabilization. This is also outlined in the manual. I do not remember the reasons for that, but maybe this simulates the ground effects and interference of turbulences on the flow sensors at the nose, but that is just my wild guess. Just do not engage autohoover below 10m, would be my advice. It works again after you switch on autohoover, stabilize again, reactive the dampers (blue lights blinking) until you are stable.
  22. Dat is jo wiet un siet bekannt, dat wi meistens plattdütsch schnacken opt Land. Aber jut, wenns dich so wurmt... ;)
  23. @Sobek: Which typo? Dat is Hamburjesch, ne? ;)
  24. Huh, the wings seem to be a little oversized. ;)
  25. Well, Fleet Defender was fun back in the good old days. 8) But Su-27 is the most sexiest plane flying imho. ;)
