  1. just to know... is normal that with latest patch i was able to detect (and few secs later also finally lock) two mig29 flying hot at 36000 feet that i was able to see way before ? hornet radar get a lock like 5 miles more far that an aim120 radar ? is that normal ?
  2. … i noticed in the changelog a fix to VACQ... i still have vertical scan becoming wide acquisition pattern after losing lock (shown clearly on radar mfd)… dont know if that was the intended bug to fix or another one...
  3. just to know…. AACQ in the past was self-locking first target spotted (that makes sense, since its exactly what this mode is supposed to do, or am i wrong?), while now it needs to manually press "S" key to lock an already spotted radar contact (that i can do in other modes too…). is that normal ? is this a problem, and if yes its already reported ?
  4. ah its two years i'm "really patiently" waiting for fix (random example: the inverted ground effect), but every patch actually add a bug (see vertical scan in latest patch) instead of fix something. so, this time i'm off, i'll just follow all other friends and go play "the other one" where things work as they should. good luck with your patience guys, bye !
  5. maybe were 5 minutes, didnt looked the clock closely ! for sure i found the vertical scan bug in 1 minute since joining the server , because i recorded the video with shadowplay, hehe!
  6. in general i gave up on this logic of: "ED do perfect by default, everything different has to be proved by unquestionable proofs and even at that point will be questioned somehow because if ED did as it did, must be perfect". for fun i'll take this and answer, since your doubt seems genuine.

  8. hello. i watched an interview of Nick Grey talking about bug fixing and development in general. his words were exactly what community like to hear, sadly facts continue to prove the opposite. each patch create more bug than it fixes, today for example the last piece of joy i had on DCS, gun dogfight, has been screwed, since vertical acquisition is no longer working. now i made a short list of the most annoying problems with the F18, keep in mind this are just >the most annoying< and just for the F18 plane. here is what came to my mind in 2 minutes: now… my simple question: is there any real intention to fix this? if its a no (as proved by facts till today date, 26/08/2020), be brave enought to say it, is all i ask. and use better testers for F18 (dont know about other planes, i will never buy another module), to me took less than 1 minute of play to spot the vertical scan bug introduced in today patch. hoping for a serious answer, thanks.
  9. 26-08-2020 patch vertical scan bug 26-08-2020 patch totally screwed vertical scan. pattern was stuck in a sort of boresight mode, not scanning vertically. tried many switch to other modes, but vertical scan keep getting stuck in that mode. video of the bug:

  12. dont seem exactly what happened to me (4 times at today date), but similar. in my case, after using vertical scan in a dogfight, changing weapons to guns, aim9, aim120 ecc, i dont know the exact procedure to reproduce the bug, it gets stuck in vertical scan. i can do nothing to use BVR again, it gets the BVR data layout (i can select range, degrees ecc), but radar keeps scanning 2 degrees left& right and all the vertical . i tried everything, change to AG mode, shut radar off, reset, everything, i cannot take back control of my radar when it happens. this add to another bug… if i use vertical scan, lock a target, then lose it (like if it goes outside my radar limits), then it stays in vertical apparently, but in reality radar is scanning a sort of big boresight, not vertical. to make it work again as intended i have to set boresight, then vertical again, and it works again as intended.
  13. i'm more worried about F18 not being able to reach mach 1 with full amraam load… while F15 can reach mach 2.2 with 6 amraam and 2 aim9 (in DCS) how is F18 supposed to intercept things ?

  16. hello, targeting pod used in air to air is keeping flickering, making like an epiletic movment , as far as i know, it should be "stable" like F14 TV , not keeping flickering. is a bug ?

  19. to record i use the Nvidia shadowplay, it works perfectly and dont cause any noticeable lag. server was " JustDogfight.com " , the german one. fuel are set around 50% for both Aircrafts. about paddleswitch … you guys are joking , right? i'm facing a superior pilot in a superior plane, as i said in the video comments he is pushing his F14 to the limits, and F14 limit is only when wings snaps, around 20g (check my channel, it pulled safely 25g in many occasions), his plane can eat 20mm bullets like a tank, pilot cannot be killed in any way, and on top of all this he was using full flaps , sometimes even jamming them due to excessive G loads or speed, to achieve better turning at extreme AOA. Not the case of the pilot of this video, but the majority of players also drops aim9 and dump fuel to be lighter and have a little extra performance advantage! so… not just in DCS, but i bet in real life too, an F18 pilot fighting for real an F14 with a gun, will not just pull paddle switch (that is there just to increase the airframe life-hours, and let you pull just 9.9g at max, that is default max G on many exported F18) , but also pull the FCS pins to totally disable max G ! you "paddleswitch-nazi" are always making me laught, but this time i decided to take some time and explain my point of view, just to make it clear. use your brain guys, we are in DCS, we do not pay for airframes, so everyone pulls to the limit, its a fact, accept reality as it is. and real life is another story, in a training probably an F18 pilot will not use paddleswitch, while in a real combat is just common sense he will not care if maintenace will have to work a bit more, he just want to survive, and will do everything he can to stay alive and complete mission, and paddleswitch has been conveniently placed on the hotas for a reason. think on that before talk. no offense intended eh, just something to think about.
  20. np, its a pleasure to be useful. just keep in mind… F14 is a superior plane … but it still has a weakness… its pilot ! you have to beat the man, not the machine !

  22. harm in TOO should NOT loft ! its Flying into space for me ! makes HARM totally unusable on things like TOR !
  23. TGW linked to a very detailed topic. i suggest you go on there, anyway to cut it short : F18 in DCS is underperforming . real one seems better (also real pilots like C.W. Lemoine "Mover" and "Gonky" of "the ready room" channel say that many times in their videos).
  24. lol, in first place, as far as i know, HARM in TOO mode should NOT loft, considering they do not know the target distance. i think its just DCS bugs at work.
