  1. Sure, if I absolutely had to, but that would mean I already screwed up. “Dogfighting” rarely goes well for anyone involved, whether in the moment or 60 seconds later when the next guy you didn’t see gets saddled up on your now lower, slower 6. Then someone kills that guy, too. Best to avoid grubby work like that and fight smarter.
  2. Does anyone know what to add to the lua file to make this mappable?
  3. I think the idea of making people have multiplayer experiences in order to avoid lousy AI stuff is already well underway. Maybe some day someone will figure out how to avoid lousy multiplayer experiences as well beyond avoiding public servers. Perhaps in the spirit of this thought, we could incentivize other things like reading the manual, doing the training scenarios, etc. Mayyybe no-notice written and practical performance exams, and if you fail you can’t join a crew slot in MP until you pass. Sound like a horrible idea? Of course it’s a horrible idea. Next thing you know we’ll have a certificate database and currency requirements (for those that can pass aeromedical).
  4. Anyone who complains about the rest of us getting a Zeke will be issued a Claude instead.
  5. To get traction on this issue we might have to prove that the RR Merlin engine isn’t supposed to freeze in operations under normal conditions. But how? Hard to find such archival evidence from so long ago.
  6. I’ve observed this behavior as well on Normandy and Channel maps the last few flights, in Summer months and Summer temps at all altitudes up to 25K’. The temps drop, oil pressure rises, and the choice is usually to fly at max continuous or higher.
  7. I notice this most when the mission time of day is early or late, when the Sun is low(er) in the sky. Seems when the light hits the prop close to or at a perpendicular angle it’ll flash and flicker as I look from side to side across the plane’s nose. It happens whether viewed from the pit or externally. Certain rpm ranges seem to have an effect as well, and when I’m lucky I can find a sweet spot in my power settings that’ll make it go away. That’s the only workaround I’ve found so far and it’s not a very good one.
  8. That last screenshot with the note of congrats in the corner Nice.
  9. Absolutely positively. I’d buy anything in the 1940-1943 time frame. The forum amplifies outliers who enjoy gameplay and have less interest in the historical sim side, I think.
  10. I used to fly connected unless at high alt because that’s what I did in the other “sim”. I’ve since started disconnecting because in DCS it actually matters in terms of finer control of the engine. I never connect the prop, here or there.
  11. The very thought of having the planes and maps to recreate the air war in the year leading up to d-day makes me a little bit misty eyed. Everything was still very much up for grabs during this era. 6 or 8 hour missions would be a bit much, but that could be worked around. I wish there were more interest in this period in which the outcome was much more uncertain.

    Razorback

    Yes please to a razorback!
  13. I’m aware people always have and will gravitate to whatever aircraft they think is the best and will cry foul if they feel disadvantaged. In that regard nothing is new under the Sun since the days of Air Warrior on Genie. Public server life is just a small slice of the pie though. The 109G6 deserves development and if this news that it’s confirmed is true then I’m happy to hear it. It’ll be a welcome addition in my group and I’m sure others as well. K4 fans can still enjoy their K4s.
  14. The most prolifically produced 109 variant seems to be the one few people here want to fly, despite it’s actual historical context and importance.
  15. Thanks, ED. This module is off to a terrific start and it’s a real joy. Looking forward to refinements and tweaks as development continues!
  16. April Fools For those of you who haven't seen it yet, oh boy. :megalol:
  17. Thanks. It was me and was related to a hardware update. I've figured it out.
  18. The update is failing for me. It's trying to write to a temp directory on a drive (E) that doesn't exist on my PC.
  19. Yes, the depth perception you gain with VR makes a huge difference!
  20. Can confirm. I fly in VR if that matters.
  21. Interesting. I'm using the 4-way PTT switche on a TM Warthog. I also noticed after making this post that when I press the intercom PTT switch it will actively key radio 1 in SRS but not the intercom itself.
  22. When the ICS switch is set to either radio override or hot mic it causes the user to hot mic radios whenever the relevant PTT is depressed then released. The only way to unstick the mic is to key the other radio, which then becomes stuck. With the ICS set to cold mic this issue goes away. In my case this problem existed in all three of the radio options under the special tab in settings.
