  1. You do realize that we would have f-22s with air superiority and f-35s with sead missions, thus gaining the same air superiority over top of the line Russian AD that we enjoyed over Iraq and Serbia. All this talk of sead is making me lust for DCS f-18c....the wait is killin me.
  2. My point exactly, so how can tungs and tors be 100% accurate and shoot down 2 or 3 Mavs all inbound at once like I've witnessed in this sim after the update ?
  3. I'm still not sold on tungs and tors being able to shoot down mavs. Just because they should in theory does not mean it can happen in RL. Show me references, data, combat foote, or something that proves this.
  4. I guess the question is does this happen in RL, never heard of mavs being shot down by air defenses. Kind of seems like a stretch to kill a mav mid flight ?
  5. Thanks again for the reply, these few questions are just small issues I could live with. It seems that to correct them I may have to add 2 additional monitors on the sides of the top monitor in a "T" formation.
  6. Some more questions for you PeterP, is there a way to display the f10 map at a different resolution ? In MP missions we use the f10 map to give out lat longs as jtacs, but my current aspect cuts off the first few digits displayed in the top left corner. Any work around for this ? Also is there a way to have combined arms only display on my top monitor only? Currently it displays on both and it seems the crossairs are off. Is there a way to adjust the disply of external views ? when I take screen shots it only captures the top monitor so the shot is cut off. Would it be better to recenter it or just display it on the top monitor only ?
  7. I would be plenty fine with the AH-64A model if the longbow radar can't be done due to classified material. It seems possible, can't be too classified at this point. After flying the Ka-50 for so long, the A model will seem like a huge upgrade.
  8. Ebs, thanks for the continued support of this mod. I flew a mission in the firehouse server with about 6 people in the Ka-50. I did pretty well and made 3 full sorties without dying or having to respawn. I landed and rearmed at a farp 2 times, the mission went on for a full three hours. When I finally exited, the game goes to the loading screen just before the logbook display and at 96% loading, the game hangs up an crashes before the logbook is displayed so all stats are lost. I am just thinking out loud here, but it seems that maybe too many events being logged are crashing the logbook screen. When you fly for hours and don't die or respawn, the logbook screen is logging all the human and AI activity so the event page is massive and crashes. I notice that If I exit after each sortie, whether I die or land, it resets the logbook and logs everything. This is the most reliable way to use the mod if you are flying for hours. It's just a PITA to have to exit everytime you land. Have you thought of trying a version where only your events are logged, this might rule out my theory and have a version thats supports marathon MP sessions? I appreciate your work on this mod, there are some road blocks within DCS that are limiting the mod from working as I would like. In a perfect world, I would like to have the MP logbook mod to be able to support AC switching with out exiting and infinite time logged without crashing. We might need to have ED alter some of these confines or formally make this mod a feature.
  9. Ebs I tested logbook with lots of MP flying this weekend and noticed some things. I still got a message screen at the logbook screen which caused a crash. Also I had a long MP mission that went on for 5 hours and was shot down and respawned 5 times. There where about 10 other guys flying in the server. I stuck to the same aircraft slot as instructed, but when the mission ended and I logged out, the logbook screen hung up and crashed all the mission stats did not get logged. I'm wondering if there where just too many events to display and that caused the crash. It seems that in big MP missions it might be best to back out like an aircraft change so you can reset the logbook. I really wish there was a way you could fix the server exit with aircraft switch. I like to change to the shark, hog, and frog during all in the same mission and exiting every time is an inconvinience, but hey at least my stats are getting saved. This mod is so cool, I'd like to see ED support it and make it an official addition so we can get past these small wrinkles. I think your mod has proven how badly needed this feature is.
  10. So I just applied the setup without sofTH and just ran in windowed mode with 1 aspect. It runs great with no missing water, so that problem solved. My FPS in windowed mode is great, it actually gets worse when I force full screen with softTH. It's weird because most people seem to get a boost from fullscreen. Is there issues with DCS and sli in fullscreen, I'm wondering if that is whats causing the huge performance difference. I'm wondering if my 690 dual gpu card that runs in sli is actually more effective in windowed mode where the sli can perform better.
  11. That definately solved the missing water and it looks pretty good. Nice job arranging it into a 1 aspect. Some text displayed in the top left corner might be cut short but I'll live with that. The F10 map is very buggy like you said. When I switch out of it, half is locked on the bottom screen. I don't have an app key on my keyboard, what exactly is the app key + S called so I can bind it in game. I don't have this function by default. I will also have to learn to live with no alt tabbing as well which will be hard when managing team speak. Could be a good app for someone to add, an in game teamspeak display toggle. That would be beyond my ability though.
  12. Here's softTH config, the default one, haven't made any adjustments. I am running a 2 monitor setup stacked vertically. The top monitor is the main with a native res of 1920x1200 and the bottom monitor is a 22" touchscreen with a native re of 1920x1080.   13. Thanks for the info PeterP that explained it perfectly. So basically I have to decide whats more annoying missing water or tsunamis off the coast of georgia. I did notice the missing water is gone when using sofTH, I assume this is because it's forcing fullscreen as if it's one big monitor. What baffles me is the huge unplayable performance loss in fps I get when using SofTH. It's such an extreme difference that it leads me to believe that I'm not setting it up right. Any insight to this ?
  14. Not that I noticed, but the white areas are always at the edges of the screen in periferal of the view. Usually zoomed in view does not have white areas cause the field of view is so narrow.

  17. Ebs, I tested it last nite and had 2 CTDs both with medal notices at the logbook screen after ending an MP session. I was using the latest version of that file as you suggested. I guess we will kill this bug or I will run out of medals to earn and the CTDs will stop at the logbook screen. The good thing is that all the stats get tracked in your logbook reguardless if there is a ctd or not.

  20. Tested it out, works great. Another thing I found is you can get a CTD at logbook screen if you get a fratracide notice. It might be that any notice at the logbook screen can cause a ctd. It's not a big issue because everything gets recorded, but you miss reviewing the events.
  21. So turning off HDR didn't solve it, still have the big white patches over water in windowed mode. Note, this is different than the ati flashing little white boxes bug that I remeber HDR off would solve. As for my issues with SofTH, I still can't figuar out why I get such awefull performance when forcing fullscreen. You would think it would be boosting performance. I must be setting it up wrong. For windows 7 64bit OS you use the x64 dll sofTh, right ?
  22. I was hoping that would not be a solution. I hate turning off a feature like HDR to solve a bug, but I'll give it a try and see how it looks.
  23. So, I'm running DCS on two monitors in windowed mode and I'm getting great FPS, 60 to 90 with out vsync on. Unfortunately I get the big blocks of white when flying over water that is just annoying. I saw some where that using sofTH to force full screen solves this. I applied the sofTH x64 dll as per the readme, but I get horrible FPS now....like in the 20 to 30 range and even as low as 19 when close to the ground. What am I doing wrong ? Is there anyway to clear the white patches over water in windowed mode or is my only hope sofTH ?
  24. I will test this tonight Ebs. I can't give this mod enough praise, racking up big kill scores and flight time in MP and having all recorded in your logbook is just genious. I can't believe ED didn't add this from the beginning. MP has never been better for me.
  25. This mod is great, one thing i've noticed is that my game CTDs everytime I get a medal and view the logbook after exiting MP. The medal and the score get logged, but DCS crashes. It's no biggie because I just open dcs again and everything is there. Just thought this might be something to help you sqaush some bugs if needed.
