I solved the problem, you have to let the aspect ratio remain at what ever it is set to automatically after you adjust the screen resolution in game.
-
Well I went ahead and just used a second monitor for the export, now the issue is that the mfds are not alined on the ipad screen. They seem off centered or only half way on the ipad screen.
-
How do you hide the exported mfds / cdu ? I'm using a single monitor, every thing is up and running, just annoying having the exported mfds and cdu blocking my view.

IPadpit version 2.0 available for download
Skoop replied to Ghost_unit13's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I may very well get both this and dcs icontrol, but I have to ask, what are the main differences / pros and cons between the two. With the 1.09 patch icontrol bug, one reason to have both. -
After further Reading I may need to look into the editor. I bet the problem with the campaign JTacs are that they are set to coordinate only with no line of site to the target. I think I will mess with the ME to see if I can make the Campaign JTACS more effective.

How to use weapons - Picture guide: GBU-12, GBU-38 and AGM-65
Skoop replied to SimFreak's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
^ You know I was having the auto lase profile problem as well. Its too tedious to have to mess with the profile every time in flight so I switched to manual lase at 10 seconds from impact. Hold down NWS button until impact at 10 seconds. When I started doing this, I never miss with GBU-12s. -
^ Same here the JTAC is a waste of time for me right now. You call them up and they tell you about the target, but give no red triangle so they are useless. I envisioned more in depth control, like the JTAC lasing each tank and giving a red triangle for each tank that you can slew to to make it easy. Right now it's a hassle, they give you coordinates that you have to punch in to get to, and even then it's a general area, you still have to search the area for the exact target and expose your self to enemy fire. For the campaign I have been editing the waypoints in the mission planner, I put waypoints over every known target in the mission planner. In flight I use those as referances to find the enemy. Since I started doing that I have been making great progress in the campaign. I suspect that maybe the issues the military version had with the detail of the JTAC and why some of the content was taken out in the beta maybe why the JTACs suck so bad and are not as helpful as they should be. I just saw a vid of a JTAC directing an A-10 for gun runs in Afgan, and it seemed so effective in RL, but in DCS in needs serious work.

Using Marks to prosecute multiple targets in one pass.
Skoop replied to Dropbear's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Can you do GBU-12s with this method, or I assume not if the targets a on the move. If you were trying to take down a column on the move, is there some sort of multi targeting / simultaneous attack method that can be done ? -
TMS up Short in the MAV screen ? I have it TMS up short in the TGP screen, maybe thats the problem. Also sometimes the TGP will be on INS insead of area or point lock even when I want a point lock with TMS Short UP, Can you still fire a MAV with that or will it allways have to be slaved to a Point or Area lock in the TGP ?
-
Some questions with mavs i'm having : I locate with the TGP, then make SPI, then slave all to the the SPI, then swith to MAV and I find the mav has located the target but when I press the weapon release, it won't launch. I get a error message on the MAV screen, can't recall...three words ends with INHIB. What am I doing wrong ? Also after a while I get a small white box in the right lower corner of the TGP with a message that says "check EO". Is that something to do with alining the mavs at the start of the mission ? I notice the ALIN countdown keeps going even after the 3 min ALIN process is reached.

Glad you started this thread cuz I was gona start one about how to run the ECM, but as stated above, push down CNS buttton....thanks.

^ F-15E or F18, I don't care which one, just want to be able to fly SEAD missions and do A2A now and then. Can't wait to see MP with players flying A10s covered by Players in multi role AC.

Is there a good cockpit layout schematic anywhere?
Skoop replied to Bahger's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
can someone upload the file here ? I don't want to register at the SC site just to download. -
Will there be one like Blackshark ? Not that the full startup is so bad, just thinking down the road when things are more proficient and playing player vs player MP. A start up cheat would be great to get back into the air quicker.

+ 1, same problem here. I download redbarron's profile put into the proper folder, try to open and nothing...all blank what's the deal ?

Officially - Will A10 be Compatible with BS?
Skoop replied to Lonecrow66's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
I'm pretty sure I saw some where that BS and A-10 will be compatible. When you fly online there will be A-10s and BS for both red and blue sides, thats how it was done in lockon. The real question will be if we get the lockon aircraft compatible with A-10, the BS already is. It would make online missions great if you could choose to fly the BS, A-10C, and various lockon jets all used in the specific role they were designed for. -
Next DCS (US) Fixed Wing Aircraft Wish List
Skoop replied to diecastbg's topic in DCS Core Wish List
If I was a bett'n man, my money is on a US built multi role fighter. (probaly the F-16 due to the massive export to various nations that would pay for a sim dev contract) Plus the multiplayer DCS world needs a SEAD platform and the dual A2A capable AC to coop with the A-10Cs. This will be more crucial if FC2 is not supported with DCS AC any longer. plan B bet would be the AH-64A (due to the classified AH-64D, and AH-64A being exported to various nations which could pay for sim dev contracts) -
When we say we need a DC, I would like to see more of a stategy based overlayer controlling the DC. Similar to you filling the role of ATO in F4 AF. I thought DCS was headed in this direction with the battlefield commander until it was pulled. IL2's DC are an example of what I don't want, just generic cookie cutter missions spawned up. The strategic overlayer is the best way, gives the player the ability to make choices on the path of the DC. I really don't think a DC for the DCS series is that impossible. If ED can redo the BFC,that could be the avenue to implement a DC. I would gladly pay extra for it,and many would as well. I think the pieces for a DC are possibly already in place, instead of a mssion to mission campaign, what if the DC is just one long saveable dynamic mission with hundreds of triggers from the mission editor. I think with a little commitment from ED and alot of 3rd party work and support this could become a reality. Think of all the casual flight sim people that would be drawn to the sim due to the enhanced immersion of a DC in the form of a total conflict simmulator. If ED would do what ever it takes to tackle this hurdle, it could bring in many new fans / paying customers. Then down the road each new aircraft could be add to the DC "world", then we will be able to plan various missions, then fly them as a helo, a-10, multi-role fighter, or air superiority fighter all in the same dynamic campaign simmulator. ...ops...little more than 2cents....

So there is no way to know when the R77 goes pitbull ?
-
I've been wondering this myself. Now for another question, what about the R77s the MIG29S carries ? How do you now when the R77 goes pitbull and you can break off for evasive action ?
-
Well then how did jane's longbow do it 10 years ago ? It seems thats the standard for Apache sims right ? How did leadpursuit do it with Falcon 4.0 over 10 years ago ? They set the standard for F-16 sims right ?
-
My point exactly, 5 years in the computer world is an eternity. You guys are killing me, ED is gonna have to speed up production. Why wait for military contracts when you can satisfy the desktop simmers and generate revenue now. If you keep taking so long to realease new DCS models, then you will have to waiste time constantly keeping the overall engine up to date with the current technology. I don't mean to sound negative, I just see alot of potential in the ED sim family, and I want to see it reach it's full potential in my lifetime. I'm having these same problems with some of my other favorite sims, Steel Beasts pro pe, and Combat Mission.......
-
I've been flying alot more multiplayer lately and I see your point. I fly alot of single player because of the campaign storyline / part of a major engagement simulation. I'm a big Falcon 4.0 AF fan so thats why I like this mission cuz it kinda reminds me of a massive battle going on around you like falcon. I haven't seen this mission hosted anywhere online yet, so I've played it in singleplayer only. When you finish the campaign, I'd love to try it out.

DCS Apache is the only next logical choice for the multiplayer world. I'm tired of flying Blue Ka-50s in the place of Apaches. How about releasing an AH-64A lockon FC2 version. After DCS Apache, they should do DCS F-18 so we can have a multi role to do SEAD and launch HARMS. This would balance out the AC in multiplayer and allow true red vs blue engagements. For once I'd like to see ED just go ahead and do the project with out military contracts or classified material concerns. By the time we finally get all the DCS AC that we need to Balance out the ED sim world the engine will be obsolete because everone using some new version of windows. Its gonna take a decade at this rate.

Man....I was looking forward to creating single player missions with an A/G SEAD capable F-16. So really only A2A is capable ? How hard would it be to add A2G ?
