I still haven't played this in multiplayer, but I did play it again in v1.2 singleplayer flying the Ka 50. It definately had more lag in the shark because of the shkval and operating close to the ground. I was playing on all settings maxed though, I could tune it down and eliminate some stutters. Still wasn't able to win the mission in singleplayer. This mission is on my list to player in multiplayer. I will have to check out v1.3. Will your campaign have support for singleplayer? I know you said it's coop, but would it be hard to tweak it for a singleplayer version? This mission really makes me wish FC2 and Blackshark had 1 user interface. I hate having to close FC2 then start DCS to switch to the ka50.

Do you have it mapped to the G940 ministick? The ministick is very nonuser friendly, hard to work with.
-
I can't figuar this out ? I use the pinkie switch on my G940 Joystick(Joy button 7 in blackshark, joy button S5 in logi profiler) as a modifier. It works fine in FC2, but when I program it into blackshark, it recognizes it in the controls menu, but wont work in game. I used to use a Saitek x45 for blackshark so I wonder if there's conflict? I deleted those old profiles so it shouldn't be.

Thats what I suspected when I could find an explanation. There is a chart in the russian radar section of the manual that states in the column for the 29S "has the capability to attack 2 targets". This must be an upgraded version not modelled in FC2 like you said. Here's a stupid question, in the AWACS radio message, Angels medium Hot means Altitude medium or even with me, and the target is aproaching head on?
-
I've been learning the ins and out of the Mig-29S the lastfew days, and I read that the 29S can track 10 targets and attack 2 targets simultaneously. I'd like to use tactics of firing off R77s then at 2 targets then going into evasive maneuvers once the R77s go active (which to my understanding is 15km btw). For the life of me I can find in the manual how to do this. Am I wrong on 29S having this capability?

I'll have to try this out in multiplayer. I haven't flown the Ka-50 in a while, but I might be revisiting it in a week after I wrap up all the FC2 campaign missions. If I get too impatient I might try this out in the Ka-50 with easy flight and hard avionics.

I just played this in single player.....It was a blast! I enjoyed it because of the constant spawning of enemy fighters trying to challenge me for air supremacy over the battle field while the war goes on down below. My system handled it fine with all settings on high, but I was flying in F-15Cs the whole time. I notice game slows down for me in CAS aircraft like the Su-25T or the A-10A. The action for me was non stop, If I got shot down, I would jump into another aircraft and keep fighting....great mission for aircombat practice. Some things that could make this even better for continued single player use: More A-10As to fly, during my play, the A-10A trigger never went off so I never got to fly A-10s in the mission. This was crucial, half way through I achieved control of the air and it seemed more beneficial to switch over to ground attack and help the guys on the ground....cuz they are the ones who will advance and take Krasnograd to win the mission. You could add more Su-25s to the red side, this will make the CAP missions more crucial. Twice the reds briefly gained control of the air, but it did nothing with no ground attack assets to take advantage. The Migs and Su27s just flew around until I came back with more F-15s and shot them all down. I failed the mission because just before the blue army reaches the bridge over the kuban, a huge wall of red armor spawns (I'm talking 50 to 60 tanks) and wipes out my whole ground force.....I then get a mission failed. You can see why it is critical to switch over to CAS aircraft to put some holes in this huge red horde at the river. I'd like to see strike missions on the airfields to shut them down for good. I could only imagine how fun this would be with people manning some of these flights. You could set it up where the player could fly and manage a 4 ship flight. This mission has some good potential, good dynamic feel to it. I love the idea of a war going on around me. I used the F10 map many times to zoom around the map to check out all the action in the air and on the ground. Is this able to play as the red side ? I only played in FC2 but next I'm going to play it in blackshark to see how it does in the Ka-50. I may fiddle with it my self to see if I can get more A-10s to spawn. To bad you cannot jump into Ka-50s while running the game in FC2, that would be sweet for this mission. jumpin to an A-10, use up all your weapons, then jumpinto a Ka-50 to fly CAS as a helo.

I think the whole FC2 / DCS BS / DCS A-10C separation should be done away with in time. They should combine all three into one install and all planes are in one sim world. The only differance is the DCS aircraft will have more detail. I think this is the best approach for the future. From wags comments in those interviews of eventually heading towards a dynamic campaign this would be the best way to go. I'm envisioning a war going on in real time on a given map, as it progresses you pick missions to fly and jump into the sim map and fly it. You could have the option of any aircraft in the FC2 or DCS series, by the time this happens you could have the option of an apache as well. A campaign that simulates a whole conflict and the player flies the missions for various units of either a red or blue force.

Been enjoying this sim, some things I like to do is replay a campaign but spice it up in the editor as I go along. I like to add extra units to give it the feel of a huge war going on around me. One of the things I've been messing with is jumping into different planes during the course of the mission. I want to set up a SEAD flight and fly a plain in that flight, then fly in a CAS flight, then fly Migs in a fighter sweep. It would be awesome if you could jump into a Ka50 during the mission but you can't. The problem is at the end of the mission in the aar all the planes I switch to are flagged as "unregistered" and no kills or events are logged. No data is logged in the logbook, in some instances, when I end the mission in the original "player" plane, that is unregistered. No trace of my pilot profile in the mission at all. I am able to complete the mission and advance the campaign progress. Is there any way to change this ? I want to have my profile register in the mission for every aircraft I switch to during the mission.

You could delete them in the editor before you fly the mission, then fly the mission in your campaign with out the sa11 sites.

I guess the problems I had flying the A-10 in the FC2 campaign and constantly running out of mavs and rtb for reload could have been resolved by the wingman using his more effectively and not being such cannon foddar. In a high intensity conlict such as the FC2 campaign, the mav is so good at allowing the A-10 to kill from distance and stay out of harms way. You would think the USAF would want to increase this ability and wire up to carry more mavs inspite of weight / drag issues.
-
I would be more happy with the A-10 being able to carry more Mavericks. All those hard points and you can only carry 4 AM-65Ds really sucks. FC2 definately killed the uber untouchable myth pedistal I had the A-10 on. If you could pile on Mavericks to every hardpoint, the aircraft would be so much more effective. I wish you load up 12 Mavs instead of 4. FC2 showed me that the A-10 needs some serious modernization if we ever take on a sophisticated foe.

This might be a stupid question, but you can repair when you land ? I thought you could only land and refuel / rearm. How do you repair ?

S-25T Shkval FPS drop Whats the deal ?
Skoop replied to Skoop's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
I know I read them all, and no fixes. The point of the thread is to draw more attention to the issue or find a fix not already tried. -
Got a descent system and no matter how I tweak I can't get around the drop from 80 fps to 15 fps when I turn on the shkval in the su-25t. I'm running FC2 on an i7 920, ATI 5870, 12 gb ram and win vista 64. Any suggestions or is this going to be addressed in a patch ?

940 profile recommendations for FC2
Skoop replied to Skoop's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Thanks for the reply, I've been playing around with it all day. I can't get FC2 to launch from the logi software not sure want I'm doing wrong. I don't think I'll recognize the profile if I cant launch it from the logi software. -
I have DCS BS but flew mostly with an old saitek x45. I recently got a logi 940 and noticed all the problems in the forums with DCS BS and 940. I just purchased and downloaded FC2 today, and I assume some of those problems are present in FC2 ? I notice someone posted about programing BS by using the logi software instead of the ingame options, seemed more effective. My question is : are 940 users in FC2 using ingame options or the logi software to build their control profiles ? I'm just trying to figuar out the best way to get the 940 in a functioning state inspite of it's flaws until logi or ED sort out these issues.
