Steam user’s vs longtime supporters… not fair!
Skoop replied to Xanix's topic in Payment and Activation
I would love to switch all my DCS keys to steam, but I'm definitely not going to rebuy at full price. The devs for IL2 BOS allow you to switch your account from their shop to steam in a one time deal free of charge, but once you do there's no going back to standalone. I'd love to see ED offer this, switch all to steam. The devs of IL2 did this because steam users give free exposure to all the people on your friends list. Almost all my friends have asked about IL2 when the see me spending vast amount of hours in game. I think this would be one of those situations where it would benefit both ED and the customer. I would even be game for a deal where you could buy from the DCS store for standalone and pay an additional 5.00 bucks for a steam key for the same module. -
I would by this for the wireless LED part alone. I absolutely hate the trakIR pro clip, so fragile, broken in the first week. The flimsy wire it is attached to does nothing but get tangled. Always amazed me that natural point never made a wireless pro clip. My question is can you use the LED clip with TrackIR5 ? Are you selling the clip stand alone ? For 35 bucks I would buy the whole set just for the clip, but it would be nice just to have the option of buying them as a set or separately.

Dude, if you put more info up on that page.....like ts address.....time / day your going to fly, I would probaly join you guys.

UltraMFCD - drag, resize and click display exports. Zero configuration.

^I'm not sure if you can. When I set the screens, they move with my view as it pans. It would be preferable to lock the uMFCD exports in a fix postion on screen. @Sgt Baker, I understand about fullscreen dev, nice to know its on the back burner at least. I may test this again to see if I can dial down some of the settings to soften the fps hit. This app is just so useful I can't go without it. The key toggle for the cdu is worth it alone, not to mention color tgp. Any thoughts on possibly the radios in the future ? -

I think DCS just doesn't like windowed mode. For me, it's nite and day difference in performance. Main reason I bailed on all the helios dual monitor stuff. What ever I got in immersion was killed by slide show frame rates. I think if your app could run in fullscreen mode, it wouldn't have very much performance impact. Running it in windowed mode is like stepping up to the batter's box with 2 strikes already. DCS has historically had less performance in windowed mode. I do hope you get it working in fullscreen mode, cause your app is one of the most useful / beneficial things I've seen come out for dcs in a while. -
Adding weapons to an aircraft: R-27ET (AA-10) on SU-27T

Sounds good, it worked seamlessly. I tested it in both mp and sp, I could probaly put it in folders so I could line it up with Jones soft mod installer thing. -

No worries, I would take a look myself and assist but Monday's a work day for me. Just happy that a more knowledgeable person like yourself is taking a look at it. -

Oops I should up date my sig, I currently don't use a multi monitor setup. My current setup is a single 30 in 4k monitor. I get great performance with this in full screen. I use a trackball with my left hand in the place of a touch screen. -

I've been searching for a mod and can't find one, but I'm looking for for a way to add More vikhrs to the ka50. Like converting the other pylons that can only carry rockets to now carry vikrs. This way, the ka50 can now carry 24 vikrs, 6 on each of the 4 pylons. How would I do that ? I think the lua file above is on the right track ? -
Now this is a proper flyable mod, love that you made a cockpit for it. Not a fan of all these franken cockpit mods out there that don't make a unique cockpit for the flyable. A ka50 as an Apache or a mig29 as an f16 is a stretch, but this looks great.

Could just be a matter of personal preference, but for me having the screens locked to my view so they move where a look with TIR is more of a hinderance. I'm just thinking it could be a nice option to add down the road, a toggle to have the screens stay locked in place so when you pan around the cockpit they don't obstruct your view. But for now I could just minimize them if needed. After using this yesterday, a far more pressing issue is the performance hit when being forced to use this in windowed mode. I see that you are working on a full screen option, and for a person like me that uses a 30 in 4k monitor for Dcs, this is huge. There is s 25 frame hit for me when I use windowed mode vs full screen mode. It was so bad I had to just disable your app and go back to full screen mode. I love what you are doing with this though, and the color screens are awesome. I really look forward to giving this another shot when the full screen version is done. -

Is the a way to toggle the screens to stay in one place so they don't move as your view moves with tir ? -
Can you use the apache's weapons ? Like the hellfire ? Being able to load up 16 hellfires and pummel an armored column might make this mod worth a try even if it is a franken shark / apache .

^ I'd like to know this as well ? Also are you planning to adapt this to other aircraft, like F-15 as player against red forces ? -
Hows this look inside the cockpit, same as the ka50 cockpit? Any vids demo this ?
-
I will get both mirages, I like to fly everything in DCS.
-
Does this overwrite any blackshark files, can I use my Ka50 with this installed or do I have to swap files back if I want to use the Ka50 again ? Can you arm up with 16 hellfires and will they work ?
-
Copy That, the EB is great and I'm sure the CC will be too. Can't wait till I'm navigation to a target to shoot something, instead of just doing black sea sight seeing in the EB.
-
But how hard would it be to have a DD version once CC is done. The DD isn't dramatically different, just an upgraded CC from my understanding. It can't be a complete redesign ?
-
I see what you are saying, I posted links that mention it is possible to equip the c101 with an Ecm pod, but what you guys want is actual docs that describe the process of how it's actually exicuted. I guess what I'm suggesting is why limit your self to the cc, why not make it the all encompassing c101 that has the eb, cc, and dd. Give us the consumer and the mission designers the choice to pick which variant to fly. I know the dd never went into production but the upgrades to carry mavs were done as well as countermeasures, so why not have that capability in Dcs. Seriously, if you give us the option to arm the 101 to the dd level and give the consumer choices, it will always end up better in the end.

If Dcs never had sales, or only had stingy 10% sales, I would still be flying only the a-10c or shark. And I would be waiting for the f18c as my next purchase, thus ignoring all the third party modules. So you can see, no sale means I'm extremely conservative with my money, 70% off sale means I'm very liberal with my money and now own all the modules. So devs get some of my money that they other wise would not have. The way I see it, everybody wins in this 70% off senario.
