32 bit registry path (xfire detection)
Distiler replied to Distiler's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
oh lol, solved, you don't need the \wow6432 Node\ in the path for either the 32 or 64 bit OS. If anybody wants to try, here's the modifications to xfire_games.ini [5774] LongName=DCS: Black Shark ShortName=dcsbs LauncherDirKey=HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Eagle Dynamics\BlackShark\Path LauncherExe=\bin\x86\stable\launcher.exe DetectExe=\bin\x86\stable\simulator.exe Launch=%UA_LAUNCHER_EXE_PATH% %UA_LAUNCHER_EXTRA_ARGS% %UA_LAUNCHER_NETWORK_ARGS% InGameRenderer=D3D9 InGameFlags=USE_PRESENT|ENABLE_MOUSE [4201] LongName=Lock On Flaming Cliffs 2 ShortName=lomac LauncherDirKey=HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Eagle Dynamics\LockOn Flaming Cliffs 2\Path\Path LauncherExe=\bin\x86\stable\launcher.exe DetectExe=\bin\x86\stable\simulator.exe Launch=%UA_LAUNCHER_EXE_PATH% %UA_LAUNCHER_EXTRA_ARGS% %UA_LAUNCHER_NETWORK_ARGS% InGameRenderer=D3D9 InGameFlags=USE_PRESENT|ENABLE_MOUSE -

Yo! Can anybody help me here with an xfire thing please? I'm trying to make those Xfire folks fix automatic detection for FC2 and DCS:Ka-50 ( http://www.xfire.com/forums/182686/topic/2231485/ ) What is the path for DCS:Ka-50 32bit OS registry? for 64 bit is: LauncherDirKey=HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Eagle Dynamics\BlackShark\Path (the "Wow6432Node" part is the 64-32 bit translator in 64bit Windows)

Try to google it the next time, it's easy to find entries for this. If you check the FAQ you'll see solutions to your problem: http://en.wiki.eagle.ru/wiki/Troubleshooting:ka50:other#Output Also, follow those rules to ask for help: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=44466

Don't do this. Keep the "--console" thing.

Is it a public administration contract? can it by found by searching in USA administration official bulletins?

Hi! So, if you have two exes named the same, you can't create different nvidia profiles for each one, it seems it doesen't take into account the path (using nvidia inspector for more profile flexibility, still can't do it). So if FC2 is simulator.exe and DCS:Ka-50 is the same, I can only create 1 profile that affects both. Also, nvidia default profile for DCS:Ka-50 uses dcs.exe and that might conflict with whoever wants to create a DCS:A-10C profile (I don't have it, but I think it uses dcs.exe too) Is there any solution that I haven't found yet? Can't we have different exe names for each simulator?

So much secrecy de-hypes me :( I'll search at wikileaks cables database then :D

I'm very interested in "equaling" my FC2 and DCS aircraft model mods so they look the same in multiplayer, currently I'm using those for FC2: http://files.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/120/ Gys F-15 http://files.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/440/ Simmod A-10 http://files.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/119/ 3GO Su-27 Can those be used directly in BS installation using modman or they require some prior modification?

I'm sure about it! But I don't understand the sentence, it seems it says the graphics engine will only be available in this map, seems weird to me. I mean, I can understand new features available for the new map (new effects, more polys, etc) but, the whole new engine? will the sim have two engines then, one for the old map and one for the new map? x_X Or will it be a single engine with new shiny features applied only to new maps but optimizations affecting all of them? PD: language barrier for the win XD

F-15C no doubt about it! tho...might be also be F-18C or F-16C...

"Jim Mackonochie: We are currently working on a Nevada map that will be centered on Nellis AFB. This map is designed to be used for training missions and virtual "Red Flag" exercises. This map will be the first map to utilize our new graphics engine. The map will be released as part of an Upgrade Pack later in 2011." Any comment on this? how can a graphics engine be tied to a single map? (I might not be understanding the sentence in the right way...)

Tutorials aren't tracks anymore, but videos. You need to separatelly download them and install, then will appear in the training menu (you'll need this to bypass the error message, except if you have the Steam version): http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/downloads/video/ Familiarization Preflight Preparation Basic Flight Procedures ABRIS Advanced Moving Map System Combat Employment I had uploaded them all to youtube if you don't want to download them: http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=C1078E6BD843A032

There is always a xfire_games.ini, you're probably looking in C:\Program Files (x86)\Xfire and this is not the folder I've told you. Look in C:\ProgramData\Xfire (it's a hidden folder). Also, this file is updated regularly, so you'll need to edit it each time until Xfire devs fix it.
-
So, who told them to say that? ED themselves? or it's just an optimistic read of the FAQ? BTW, I would love that happening!
-
I don't know where did you download a xfire_games.ini but don't do it, just open yours and edit it.

In 1.02 patch it changed from dcs.exe to simulator.exe, x-fire reflects it. But anyway, x-fire doesen't automatically detect it because the patch also changed the path and xfire has it wrong. After updating to 1.02 patch (don't install 1.01, go from clean to 1.02, and install "as an administrator"), open C:\ProgramData\Xfire\xfire_games.ini and add the "x86" bit into paths: [5774] LongName=DCS: Black Shark ShortName=dcsbs LauncherDirKey=HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Eagle Dynamics\BlackShark\Path LauncherExe=\bin\x86\stable\Launcher.exe DetectExe=\bin\x86\stable\simulator.exe Launch=%UA_LAUNCHER_EXE_PATH% %UA_LAUNCHER_EXTRA_ARGS% %UA_LAUNCHER_NETWORK_ARGS% InGameRenderer=D3D9 InGameFlags=USE_PRESENT|ENABLE_MOUSE|DISABLE_FOR_VISTA

A couple of minor ideas: - Minimize to system tray. - Link to TARS homepage when clicking the logo/banner of the upper side of TARS. -

I always use voice activation, and I know lots of others that use it too. Correctly fine tuned, it works perfect. -

Distiler replied to Headspace's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Well, the thing is that inside the game it's already calculated (datalink loss of signal for example) so we could ask ED to implement it in the api as an status indicator like on/off or something like that. I guess ^^ -
