No, worst case like 15fps in a place loaded with units. Average 30-40.

Hei buddies, Many people is asking about tutorials/training tracks so I'm uploading at Youtube (at 720p) all official training videos that recently appeared at the main website file section. Those videos are originally packed as executables and seem to be for Steam version because standard version has a message about rolling back to 1.0.1 version when you click on training menu (can be disabled using http://files.lockon.ru/en/174/). I've converted them using ffmpeg (parameter -sameq, huge files) and they play nice and clear, even text, at 720p resolution. To the point, here is the playlist : http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=C1078E6BD843A032 PD:I hope ED doesen't mind about the upload without asking for permission, it's just for information/educational purposes, there is a lot of people asking about it in this forum, Steam, etc. I'll delete them if asked to. PD2: those are not the original 1.0.0 training tracks converted to videos, those are new 1.0.2 training videos reencoded for youtube viewing.

If you use Vista or 7, with high settings, AA and AF, etc., except in missions with lots of units.

Buddies, this server should be in east coast for better latency, this way many more euros will jump in ^^

Great! seems very interesting! PD: I've downloaded a random mission but when opened in the editor, I couldn't show the units in the map (weren't hidden) but seem were placed outside map coordinates. Haven't tried to flight it yet. Can't explain it better sorry.

Options -> controls -> second drop-down menu: axis commands -> select axis and click axis tune. Set a bit of a deadzone and a bit of curvature for pitch, bank and yaw axis. repeat this for each aircraft (first drop-down menu) It's in the gui manual in /doc folder.

Keep in mind 192.168.1.69 is given via dhcp, so tomorrow it can be another one. You can force an static ip instead of a dynamically given one by dhcp service, but that will require a bit of knowledge from your part.

Create a new shortcut with target field like: "F:\DCS\LockOn Flaming Cliffs 2\bin\x86\stable\Launcher.exe" --console And start field like: "F:\DCS\LockOn Flaming Cliffs 2" (both using your path obviously)

I'm so used to 15-20m meshes in FSX that my eyes bleed looking at DCS/FC2 :( It'll be a nice addon for sure, thanks a lot!

How do I get more activations and what info is needed to send
Distiler replied to jack72's topic in Bugs and Problems
As far as I know, original Lockon is not protected by Starforce Proactive, so there should not be any activation protection. -
How detailed can be the elevation mesh? (I mean, like 15 meters/pixel for example). For the record, somebody at ED said the engine is limited to 300k vertex.

Nice! but, what worked?

Campaign files are in Missions\Campaigns\LOP\en (many .miz, one .cmp and one .jpg/.png per campaign) If your version is download, check md5. Files may be corrupted, who knows. Install as an administrator (right click on setup.exe, "run as an administrator, etc etc) and try to avoid installing inside /program files folder. Also, install in a different folder than lockon 1.

Training Question - Just purchased program
Distiler replied to Toasting Aces's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
New questions, better new thread or this one will be 1000+ pages long in no time. However, from the single player main menu: 1- Go to options -> controls and setup the controls for each aircraft independently (first drop-down menu). Don't forget to setup joystick axis commands category (in blue color) from the second drop-dwon menu. And yes, you need a joystick, for example this is a typical begginer and cheap joystick. You won't enjoy it without one, in fact you'll get very frustrated without a joystick. 2- Go to mission and search, for each airplane, the one named "rampstart and navigation" or "take off and navigation", for example "A-10A-rampstart and navigation" missions from the list. -

You don't need an external videplayer... You just install the training video files (it's an executable, so double click it and install) and the video and description will appear in the training menu of the simulator. You'll watch the videos inside the game. -
Last english version patch is 1.0.2 It's confusing to have this thread still stickied.

Bump, any official comment on this? really strange! BTW, half the links don't work and the basic flight procedure file is corrupted.

Training Question - Just purchased program
Distiler replied to Toasting Aces's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Dude this is almost comical... both the simulator and the training videos will be installed to the HARD DISK not to the dvd...the dvd is just the original container, you can't modify it, in fact you can store it in it's case when FC2 is already installed. Look, I'll repeat: DO THOSE STEPS (before this, delete EVERYTHING you have about lockon in the hard disk, so you can start "clean") -

Distiler replied to Toasting Aces's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
You're doing wrong, very wrong...no, even more, absolutelly wrong XD If you have the disks you don't have to download the program files!!!! you need to install the game thru the disks. Don't download setup.exe, setup-1.bin neither setup-2.bin!! Just download the training files. Delete everything related to lockon and flamming cliffs and start again, do as I explained: PD: for the record, those numbers (2), (3), etc are there because you have duplicates. -
Well, if you can't connect even via ip then: -Check firewalls. -Check you're running last versions (fc2 1.2.1 and bs 1.0.2), because you only see servers of your same version, and almost everybody is running servers with the last patch.
-
Let the program finish. In my system it also was not responding in the task manager but in reality it was taking it's time.

ahh so you have the discs, ok, I thought you had the download version. I don't know what are you really doing but seem like you're mixing things or doing something wrong, it's pretty simple you'll see. This is the way it should be I guess (I have the download version but has to be similar): 1-Install Lockon (don't play this one, it's there just to allow you to install FC2. UBISoft legal binding orders for Eagle Dynamics) 2-Install Lockon: Flaming Cliffs 2 (in another folder, it's another simulator separated from the previous Lockon you've just installed) and play/execute it to activate Starforce 3-Download training videos from website and double click them to install the videos (no need to move files and create forlders manually). There are 6 files to download in total, with many videos once installed (like 5 GB of videos). 4-Play Lockon: Flaming Cliffs 2 (two desktop icons, one for single player and another for multiplayer). No need of 1.2.1 patch if you have the platinum pack. Done PD: if you're using Vista or W7 try to install outside /program files folder and install as an administrator (right click on the installator and "run as an administrator"). PD2: btw it's called lomac=lock on modern air combat, or simply lockon, mac sounds like apple to me XD -

You confuse me, language barriers for the win! but anyway, training movies are executables in http://lockon.co.uk/index.php?scr=products&end_pos=135 Download and execute those files and voilá all done! -

There are 3 files for FC2, setup.exe, setup-1.bin and setup-2.bin, you can download from various http, ftp or torrent. All of them must be in the same folder when you start setup.exe (if you bought the download version, not the dvd). Also, you need to have installed lockon 1 before installing (in another folder) FC2. For training missions go to training then click on "download" and you'll see all videos for download and installation in the website. Also don't forget FC2 1.2.1 patch. But anyway, I can't fully understand your explanations. What is MAC disk?
