  1. Going from XP to Vista/W7 is like buying a new computer. Night and day in DCS/FC2 perfomance.
  2. Have the installer asked you to install directx9? if not, then download from Microsoft website.
  3. Training missions for 1.0.2 are videos, not interactive flight tracks anymore. I've uploaded those videos to: http://www.youtube.com/my_playlists?p=C1078E6BD843A032 Or you can try to import the old tracks this way: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=951576#poststop But there's no guarantee those tracks will replay correctly, there are some differences between 1.0.0 and 1.0.2.
  4. Scenes, at least in dcs:ka-50, affects the number of tress in forests and number of building in cities/towns.
  5. The single player mission named "shooting range" starts with all systems off.
  6. Well, if it's like DCS:Ka-50 or FC2, going from XP to Vista or W7 is like buying a new computer, fps go up like 30-40%.
  7. Scenes, water and shadows at high are probably killing your fps. Are there mirrors in this DCS? switch them off too. You should overclock the cpu.
  8. I bet if you lower the price for China you'll end getting more money (and more players). Same for other countries with stalling wages (from an already low wages by all standards). Specially when we talk about digital products (copy, storage and distribution costs near zero), I can't see why ED doesen't want to sell it to everyone and their mother (adjusting prices to country realities). But I'm not in the business and it's just an uneducated hypothesis. Gabe Newell (Steam) about this http://www.next-gen.biz/features/valve-are-games-too-expensive
  9. ED said future DCS modules where to be offered at a reduced price for owners of at least one DCS module. I guess that is a thing of the past, things have changed a lot in the last two years (well, for all of us XD). http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=26101
  10. Is the DCS:Ka-50 press release statement still valid? It will also be possible to purchase each aircraft as an add-on at a reduced price for consumers that have already purchased a DCS module.
  11. Could we have manuals for public in the website as in DCS:Ka-50 or those are also in beta?
  12. Jeezzzz, my economy has shrinked so much this year that I'll have to pass until it gets way better :(
  13. http://www.nvidia.com/object/win7-winvista-64bit-260.63-beta-driver.html beta drivers serie 260 adds support for old games like falcon af (explicit mention in the notes)
  14. You have official torrents for blackshark too, and those are open (meaning no real need to login to download, tho link is only visible when you login) Direct download link for english torrent: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/torrents/DCS_Black_Shark_EN.torrent
  15. I flew soaring planes (mainly 60 inches ridge soaring ones). My best aircraft was a french little racer, Airtech Pixel, very peculiar one with pitcheron control (meaning, tail is fixed, whole wings move, two powerful servos do the roll-elevation actions):
  16. oh BTW, Waggs said "next DCS aircraft". I'm not native english speaker so I'm not sure if the word aircraft is solely for airplanes or for any machine that flies, including an helo.
  17. It's ok, dx9 screenshots look very good and anyway this technology can be sqeezed a lot more for speed, effects, etc. But let me tell you going backwards to things said is normal policy in ED. Generating hype is good for business, delivering is even better for business. From the outisder, at least me, looks like ED/TFC needs some audit in organization processes or something like that. Not wanting to be rude!, just take my opinion as a customer.
  18. It's about time! very nice model thanks a lot! Will we get it also for DCS:Ka-50? what about FC2? Or perhaps as a mod for all sims?
  19. Yes, and 1.0.1. but affinity doesen't mean optimized for multicore, not even multicore optimized games use 100% of cores. You should check nvidia control panel, changing the card probably changes default options. There is one to optimize multicore. Also, play in full screen.
  20. Sorry I don't use Ati. I think it is the ati tray tools the one that allow you to make game profiles. Can't verify tho.
  21. What I meant is that you can create a profile in your control panel pointing to the new executable. If it's pointing to the old one (dcs.exe) it wont work.
  22. The path and name of executable has changed, now it's: \bin\x86\stable\simulator.exe
  23. It's said that the ppl that fly simulators online is only around 10% (or it was some years ago). Said that, it's also known that an important part of hype and promotion is done by that online community though word of mouth, reviews, events, etc. I also think ED must do whatever is in their hands to make FC compatible with DCS series until some module can replace su-25s and two fast movers at least. If it's enough profitable and doable of course (I guess FC2 is profitable). My fingers are kept crossed. It's a shame for us there is no more competition in this area of simulation.
  24. Thanks for the reply. Any eta on spanish patch? Are you the only one working on french and spanish patches?
NEW TRIMMER IMPLEMENTATION In addition to the original trimmer implementation, in which control input is disabled for 1 second to allow the player to quickly re-center his controls, a new method is included in version 1.0.1, using a different re-centering logic. In the new method, control input is disabled until the player returns the controls to their neutral position. This allows the player to re-center his controls smoothly, minimizing unwanted control input. The new trimmer logic is optional and is selected ON by default upon installation of the patch. Selection of the trimmer implementation is available in the GAMEPLAY menu of the game options. The Yaw (heading) autopilot channel functionality has also been redesigned. If the yaw rate is under 3 deg/sec. when the trimmer button is released, the autopilot will stabilize the helicopter heading. If the yaw rate is greater than 3 deg/sec., the autopilot will stabilize the yaw rate to maintain the turn.
