WIP DCS A-10C and Teamspeak 3 Integration
Distiler replied to Headspace's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
That is what I was thinking. For example, some fixed channels, one for communicating with your FC2 team, other FC2 teams and ground crew, etc. and another for communicating with Ka-50 team. Frequencies of them setup via TARS ui and changeable with a key combo. For example: 127.5 default freq (common: ground, tower, ia, other players, etc. don't know if it's really coded as 127.5 in FC2, but we might call it this way) 128.0 your wing freq (su-25) 128.5 another wing freq (su-27) 129.0 yet another wing freq (Ka-50) Except for Ka-50 , channels are somewhat virtual. -
WIP DCS A-10C and Teamspeak 3 Integration
Distiler replied to Headspace's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Can FC2 pilots communicate with Ka-50 teams? -
You could try something like nvidiainspector to check graphic card memory usage. If at texture high or other combos (with AA, etc) goes beyond 512 then we have a winner. I'd toy too with nvidia control panel option texture filtering quality.
-
In blackshark, setting textures to high surprisingly doesen't affect perfomance even in crap computers. I guess it's related almost only to graphics card memory, and 512 seem to be more than enough, at least for blackshark. But, anyway, do you set also texture filtering to quality in nvidia drivers? at least, in blackshark, anything below makes many textures appear blurry. BTW, what about "RES. OF COCKPIT DISPLAYS", shouldn't this one apply to TAD?

I wish for flightmodel-computations on a separate CPU core!
Distiler replied to asparagin's topic in DCS Wishlist
DCS and FC2 run with more than one core. By default sound can run in a different core than all other threads, but because of directx/vista/w7 or whatever microsoft technology is, also some other threads not designed to run in different cores, can do it. AFAIK. -

It's not good to install modman or blackshark in /program files. But, anyway, you need to download and put the mods (.zip or .rar compressed files) in \Modman\addons_dcs if you want to see them listed.

I just found an interesting paper about RoF optimizations using some kind of analysis software by intel. I guess it's standard procedure in industry so probably ED uses similar stuff. So, just for your tech reading enjoyment http://software.intel.com/file/28981

In DCS:Ka-50 happens this when, in the nvidia control panel, you don't have texture filtering quality set to quality or high quality.

When I watched the reply I used external view, you where going around 50km/h, no way to get higher at such altitude and slow speed. As said, you need to go faster if you want to climb higher, and start to climb sooner too.
-
I saw it. As I said, you need to climb at around 120-130km/h, so start climbing waaay before you do it or will be forced to slowdown or smash into the mountain. The helicopter doesen't climb at 50km/h as fast as at 120-130 (it has wings = lift) Also, you have rotor anti ice activated, but you forgot engine anti ice (but that was not the problem, because you smash into the mountain before any engine problem).
-
Go around 120-130 km/h and start climbing way before you reach the mountain ladder. At this speed you climb faster than at any other speed.
-
I have it installed (not activated, haven't bought it) so I've checked if the multiplayer chat file was the same as for FC2 and Ka-50 and it is (or it seems to me), so here it is the file to make the chat appear one line below server comms and a max of three lines displayed so it doesent block out the sun XD If anybody can test it please :) Unzip it and place chat-res.log in F:\DCS\DCS A-10C\FUI\Resources (backup first) For FC2: http://files.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/124/ For DCS:Ka-50: http://files.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/123/ chat-log.zip

Can't those plain grey textures in the doors laterals be finally fixed? -

Distiler replied to RICARDO's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
unbelievable quality! it's incredible, for real! Is it compatible with the dirty windows mod? http://files.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/154/ PD: tested the dirty windows mod myself, seems to be working nice -

UP! -
I'm not into 1WW airplanes, but I'm always attracted at reading what those guys at RoF are doing. Can anybody clear me if this new career mode is a dynamic campaign? even if it's not, it has very cool features! http://riseofflight.com/Blogs/post/2011/03/04/Some-details-about-the-new-d0a1areer-Mode.aspx The lack of the word "dynamic" in the news is a bit disturbing tho.

ahhhh you're making us suffer XD -
He probably meant "we" because it's a China government company.

Well, that is better and what one could more or less expect in the airfield (I guess). Have you created the nvidia specific profile? Also mind that, as many others games, it's not using all cores of your cpu neither hyperthreading, and being a simulator it's doesen't really max your graphics card but you cpu, so a lot of work is being done by a couple of your cpu cores while the other is doing a siesta XD

Hope for another FC2 compatibility patch
Distiler replied to Distiler's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Thats just the flight model, not the engine. It's the standard flight model in FC2, except for Su-25 and Su-25T that have the advanced fligh model like the Ka-50, and I think A-10C has a slightly more detailed fm. But the engine itself is TFCSE (graphics, world, IA, communications, network, atmosphere, etc etc). In fact, IA uses the standard flight model (at least for the most part). It's like Flight Simulator. All airplanes use the same core engine, but each one has it's own flight model, one more detailed others less. -
Hope for another FC2 compatibility patch
Distiler replied to Distiler's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
AFAIK FC2 has not just the same graphics, but the same "core", the TFCSE (The Fighter Collection Simulator Engine) as in DCS:Ka-50. Only DCS:A-10C has a newer version because, well, it's newer XD When the compatibility patch hits, all of them will have the same version, again, afaik. -
-Have you installed directx9 when asked by ka-50 installer? do it if you haven't (don't worry, it doesen't overwrite directx11) -Create a new nvidia blackshark profile for \bin\x86\stable\simulator.exe (I assume you patched to 1.0.2) and force ("override any application setting") antialiasing (8X) and anisotropic levels (16X), also set texture filtering to quality or high quality. The default nvidia ka-50 profile is pointing to the old dcs.exe so it doesen't really work. -Disable SLI (yes, sometimes new tech makes weird stuff and you loose perfomance). I guess you can do it in the previously made profile (don't have sli myself) -Set water to low. And tell us how it worked :) PD: mind that airfiels usually have a lot of objects and fps take a big hit even in very powerfull computers, once flying everything changes.

Add them as files or the foum will cut long texts.
