I understand what you mean and I tried it when I first got the TrackIR, but I got airsick.

I have tried TrackIR & Facetracknoir, I will say TrackIR is much better than Facetracknoir, I guess TrackIR will knock down all similar products. But end up I gave up all similar devices/methods included TrackIR because i really hate it when i'm turning my head and still have to stare at the screen.

Most likely you have enabled the voice recognition and some strange functions will be activated by ambian noice or you are talking to yourself, I have same experience You can just say "close" to close that pop up or disable the voice recognition to prevent it from happening, hope this can help.

Regarding to the build quality, I asure you Alpha is much better than VKB pro grip (not the metal one, I have no idea about that), Alpha like solid build and VKB just kind of better quality plastic than a TM 16000, but still very plastic.

I don't have the CM2, but I was using a VKB Pro grip on my desk without mount before, then changed to install on a Monster Tech, it is ok for me to use on my desktop and I'm not a tall man, just an ordinary asian. But I will say better to with desk mount as much more stable than without it, your flight stick may walk around on your desk. Besides, your arm rest more comfortable in a lower position with desk mount.

I was struggling between Alpha and CM2 before, and finally chose Alpha, because Alpha has an analog mini stick, scroll encoder and twist axis, but after buying a rudder pedals, I have locked the twist axis completely.

Thanks for your reply, as I am struggling to buy a rudder pedals from Virpil or MFG, more likely Slaw Device, so would like to know more about your experience. I have no idea about Virpil's earlier products as I'm new to Virpil, just received my Virpil gears about a month. Luckily, I never have issue with Virpil configurator so far.

No offence, could you please explain more details how bad is Virpil configurator, it is not perfect though but very good and flexible, and in actual use, it can make up for some deficiencies in the in-game settings. Regarding to the cheap buttons, I have no idea about it as I never tear down a Virpil device, maybe I will try later on.

Yes, I agree with you, I have ordered a set of flight stick, base, throttle, panel and mounts from Virpil recently, those gears cost me about EUR1000, I can't say it's cheap but well worth it. Besides, Virpil's technical support is excellent and responsive.

How about consider Virpil, I have thrown my VKB to the bin and bought a set of Virpil, happy life now.
