  1. Correction - The pic of your wife in her wedding dress is not only underneath some cables, but is ON THE FLOOR!! THAT is what she'll freak about LOL!!!!!

    Switches

Depending on what matrix interface you use, the imatrix will only send the macro once to the PC when the switch is on. When turned off, an on release state sends a macro again. This is with a On-Off type switch. On-Off-On can be used a dual purpose.
  3. Remember to adjust your FOV settings. It helps alot :) from my view.lua: CameraViewAngleLimits[PlaneIndex.iKA_50] = {140.0, 220.0} From my server.lua file: CameraAngleLimits[PlaneIndex.iKA_50] ={200.0, -120.0, 90.0} :)
  4. Okay, I'm REALLY dating myself with this post, but maybe there's other old farts out there who remember playing this 1 FPS oldie on the Commodore 64 lol!
  5. I am searching, but not having much luck. I worked in the avionics division for a goverment contractor and we used those on a couple of our units for fighter aircraft. Looks like mafacturing of those went away with the cold war :noexpression: Only have located that style of guard for circuit breakers and not the good old Honeywell 20A toggle.

  7. You really need a HOTAS If you are indeed on an extremely tight budget, I would suggest picking up the Saitek Aviator. The average price is about $40 new. The forward throttle controls work well for "lap operation" The 4 two-way toggles on the front provide 8 functions and, when combined with a 3 mode switch, can accomodate up to 24 functions using the Saitek profiler. I tried flying with the keyboard lat night just to see how it was and, well, crash was not a good enough description lol!
  8. While driving, you hold onto the console-mounted emergency brake as if were a collective. Your speedometer starts looking like Arc mode in the ABRIS. You have the over-whelming urge to mount toggle switches in everything. You play ArmA, shoot down a KA-50 and almost feel bad....
  9. vintersorg, I said that very thing in another forum a few weeks ago lol!
  10. LOL!!!! I love it :D My wife it at least starting to fly in IL-2 :)
  11. I have a comprehensive one for the A-10 and the one for the F-15 is not far behind.
  12. Another one: http://www.autoitscript.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=45332
  13. I'll try to make ya a "this is what it looks like" video over the weekend :D
  14. That's what I figure is making it freak out when I go to the highest setting on the terrain detail. Gonna lower it an dsee what happens. Just been going through the training tutorials so far, so I haven't really had much of a reason to further tweak it. Also, the TH2G is a godsend when working with multiple applications... Designing a circuit board here: http://ripteam.org/panel/work.jpg Imagine never having to alt+tab through your applications lol!
  15. My FOV is primarily due to the fact I am having to run 3840x720 since the TH2G doesn't support my native 1600X900 resolution. I compensate for that by editing the FOV's in the config files. I actually have more visibilty now than the picture I posted shows. As far as frame loss, there's really not any that I have noticed. I am running a solid 27-30 FPS at these settings: Antistropic Filtering via nVidia Control Panel: 16x Anti-Aliasing via nVidia Control Panel: 16X Gamma correction nVidia Control Panel: On Game settings: Terrain to medium (if I set it to high, it freaks out the vid card due to the forced settings). Water to medium (not fond of really shiney water) Other details and effects set to High System Specs: CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad 9550 2.83GHz 12MB L2 Cache Memory: 4GB G Skillz DDR2-1066 Mainboard: EVGA 123-YW-E175-A1 FTW mainboard Chipset: nforce 750i Video 1: MSI NX8800GTS 640MB OC edition HDD1: 500GB Seagate SATA OS: Windows XP 32 Case: Coolermaster Centurion 590 Fans: Blue LED 120mm front fan, 120mm rear fan, two Antec 120mm tri-cool fans in top of case CPU Cooler: ARCTIC COOLING Freezer 7 Pro PSU: Antec True Power 3.0 550W
  16. I currently run a 3840x720 resolution using three 20" monitors whose native is 1600X900. That resolution is not currently supported by the TH2G. If you get the center camera looking good y setting the appropriate aspect rations, it's may skew the ABRIS and shkval displays On the outter displays. I have to use that config for the training missions and the ABRIS is "squished" You can see what I went through and the settings I use to accomodate the 720 resolution here (mine is the last post): http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=37008&page=4
  17. The reason for that is there was not a publisher looking to make some easy money off of a bunch of quick sales at the end of the fiscal quarter. That's usually why most games get pushed out the door earlier than they should be. The publisher funds the studio and the studio has to abide in order to draw their paycheck.
  18. Here's my setup: The X-52 is mounted to a 1x8 (edges rounded) and sits in my lap when flying. Not the most pristine method, but it works out well for my set up. I work at my desk more than I fly, so being able to set things off to the side easily is a must :) The switch panel is a prototype. I'm working on a final version it though. I'm designing it so it can be versatile across different flight sims and be modular. Also keeping in mind other people like me who are on budgets, have wives that won't let them build a full pit....or for both reasons like me lol!! I'll post more when I'm closer to a presentable design.
  19. At first, I thought the author might have been stressing the "think before you buy" aspect of it, but it' very good that he did. Last thing these forums need is a bunch of threads saying "it's too hard" lol Great review and I did not expect IGN to give it a go like they did. Did ya notice that most of the screenshots were in game mode? :D
  20. Most printers can manually collate (ie print one side, insert the stack in the correct orientation, print the other side). That's how I did mine although I did it by chapters and sections if the chapters were too long. Took me about an hour to print it all out. I also went and got 3 hole paper. That way I didn't have to punch the holes myself. This is all lessons learned after having printed out the Lomac manual the hard way lol!
  21. Frontier did rock indeed :) hehehe: Ah, the good ole days lol This chap did a pretty good job of recreating that intro: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LlCjwWabM2c
  22. Yeah, I really need to getbackinto X3: Terran Conflict. It's the last of the series ya know. The Grande Finale basically. No more X after this :(
  23. You DO know that there is a version of the original Elite available for PC right? God, I remember sitting there for hours on in at my Commodore 64 looking for that blasted invisible ship!!! I never did find it btw lol
  24. http://egosoft.com The X-Series is about as good as it it gets in that genre. Another one to watch is Infinity: Quest For Earth
  25. I'm lovingg now that I got my resolution problems squared away. Nothing more gratifying than eventually conquering a learning curve that's so steep that it's basically a vertical line :D As far as the manual, I will most likely buy one when they are finally released, but I am in the process of manually collating the pages as I print it on my home laser printer. HINT: Go in sections - it' easier lol!
