We had the same thing in electronic warfare called "Echo Whiskey 600 codes" We were highly protective of them as we'd get into a crap ton of trouble if what we were saying was exposed since radio etiquette was far more stringent for surface than it was for air lol! Same type of list though except the falcon code is missing "How old is your sister?" :D lol

This is an info post rather than more pics (using pics already posted) The flight deck is not the main deck. That is actually the 03 level. The main deck is the hangar bay deck. Decks below the main deck do not have the "0" at the beginning. Decks above do. The platform I have circled on the first pic is the ESM/ECM antenna (AN/ALQ-32(V)4). It's on the 08 level. All antenna platforms have the stanchion rails that sit in front of the antenna stowed (ie not installed) when the ship is underway. So make a note to not model the rails installed on the final model. Small detail, but one that every other model I have seen in other games seems to be in error on. Also, for interior modeling purposes (if there are any) there is a passageway on the port side we call "Broadway" as it goes almost completely from keel to stern on the 02 level. I can't remember just where it ends at the forward end of the ship as I rarely went past my equipment room (ECM #1). While the passageway can be made watertight, many of us felt it was a bad design decision to give that much access to spread-style damage to such an important level of the ship. Arresting wire break rooms are on the 02 level. Catapult break rooms are on the 02 level. The combat information center (CIC), ATC, all squadron ready rooms, and several other flight ops/combat control work centers are also on the 02 level. For a nice touch, there's a set of four small berthing areas on the 01 level underneath the island superstructure. Unfortunately, I didn't carry a camera with me on the years I was stationed aboard a Nimitz Class. Now, if you ever need some good photos of the LHD class, lemme know :D

Turtle Beach Earforce HPA2's for me. Been using this series since they were first released in 2004 or 2005. True 5.1 surround with 4 drivers per earpiece. Extremely TrackIR friendly. High Quality. I used the first set for about 5 years before they just wore completely out. Into my first year with the new set and looking forward to another 2-4 years out of them. For those who love REALLY HEAVY BASS, these headphones might not be for you. I personally keep my bass at a lower level than my mids. These headphones will crank out some bass, but not to the level of the Plantronics Gamecom 777 headphones I used while I was waiting on the new set of HPA2's. Does require a soundcard.

Saitek Eclipse is what I use. I've had mine since 2005 and still going strong. It's dang near spill proof and very easy to disassemble in the event it needs cleaning.

This community has always relied on community-made missions for multiplayer. That being said, we have flown the mission "On Station" made by Grimes several nights this week. We don't have a dedicated server for our group, so one of us is hosting it each time. That being said, we have flown upwards of five hours with 4-5 of us flying and still not completed even half of the mission. The ability to make in depth, long running missions without it being a linear mission is definitely in the capabilities of the editor. IMHO, the best missions to come out for AF4 weren't out of the box. They were community made. I'd much rather the community focus on missions and mods and the dev's focus on compatibility & stability issues (ie your CTD's). Mission Resource: http://forums.eagle.ru/forumdisplay.php?f=140 Tech Support Section of the forum: http://forums.eagle.ru/forumdisplay.php?f=114 Give the dev's the info requested for the CTD issues. There's a cubic ton of different hardware, software, and driver configurations in the world and it's impossible to cover them all. See ya on the tarmac :)

As far as I know, the manual is only available with the sim itself. -
@TDBone: I remember the first day I was able to run LockOn on full settings (that includes ramping up options not seen in GUI screen, but in the config file) without experiencing system lag over cities or in an intense AO. That was only two years ago. The game engine IS updated. I have run PhysX-based games. The effects are neat, but really have no place in DCS. PhysX was great in Trine and Mirror's Edge, but the games played just as well without Physx enabled. At this point, Physx is still a "neat thing when you have a reason to add it" but it's just not a requirement for DCS from a technology standpoint. Just because Physx is marketed as the end-all be-all, doesn't mean that it is. It's cool, but that's about it. Load the stock version of LockOn and then load either Flaming Cliffs 2 or DCS and you'll see a completely different engine. If you can't, then you're either blind or standing atop too much pride to admit it. DCS A-10C started off with DX11 development. They ended it. Why? Simple - DX11 doesn't have the much impact when you're in the air, flying at high speeds, and distanced away from everything except your cockpit instruments. If this were an on-the-ground pound and smash shooter, I would agree with you. But this is a flight sim where it just wasn't economical to work something in that was, in the end, not going to give the sim any real visible advantage and would possibly kill system performance for those who aren't running $3500 dedicated gaming rigs. I'm not an ED fanboy. They make decisions I don't agree with and other that I do. In the end though, they put out a quality product that I am willing to buy as I know I will get years of replay out of it. Blackshark was released at the end of 2008. I am still playing it after two years. LockOn was released in 2003. The updates have kept it enjoyable for going on 8 years. Unless you've played LockOn through the Flaming Cliffs addon, then through Flaming Cliffs 2, and along with DCS Blackshark, then your accusations of a non-updated engine are baseless. You have no idea how this sim will actually tax your system.....and believe me, it will :D

I have had equal amounts of fun in both games, btu I will be honest that playing Evolution on Sahrani in the old days was fun as hell. We played in our own server and would not take Paraiso by camping on the hill. We would grab MP5's and take it fromt he inside out. Also, in those days, there was no MHQ to spawn at, so that made things alot more fun. I also edited a version to where the main spawn was on a small island at the very north end of the island and we had to use boats to get to the mainland. After that, we had to fight our way down to the main airbase. Made for alot of fun :D

DICE stopped being DICE when Frank Delise and several others left during the Alpha stage of BF2. EA wanted them to create an instant-action, nub-friendly game that would be easy to play instead of taking time to get good at a single role. The only innovative thing DICE has released has been Mirror's Edge, but that was more of a tech demo. As BTTW-DratsaB said, BF2 was a REAL disappointment that actually started with the 1.2 patch in Battlefield: Vietnam. That was when the nerfing started. Haven't touched the franchise since the beta of BF2 and won't give 'em a dime until they stop caving into a handful of whiners on the EA forums.

Years of working as both a Research & Development Tech in the avionics field and also as a sound engineer and having my own studio and live sound sigs are the reason I doubt I will ever built a simpit. The first thing I noticed when looking at the pics was the wiring harness. I have built more wiring harnesses in my day than I care to remember. If you want me to start cussing in all languages simultaneously and speaking in demonic tongues, then make me build a wiring harness lol! Great job man! By the end of your pit, you will have a severe distaste for 22 gauge wire, 1/8" heat shrink, and anything to do with a wiring or connection diagraim LOL!

I've grown tired of Takistan. The map concept is fine, but lacks various terrain personalities common to that region. ie caves, accessible fissures in the rocks, snow at higher elevations (instead of just being a pasted effect on a background), and the sand plains that slow down vehicle traffic. While I still enjoy Chesnarus, I really do wish BIS would release an official port of Sahrani for ArmA2. IMHO, while not based upon an actual geographic location, it was still believable and very diverse in the terrain character. Desert, forrest, several larger cities for urban combat, and mountainous areas all in one large environment.

I didn't quite mean it in that sense ;) I'm 40 yrs old and I still discover areas where I need to grow up all the time. The younger you are, the more of those moments you have in front of you :)

I suppose there's several reasons you are living with your aunt and uncle instead of your father. I also expect you don't want to go into any of the details of those reasons for various reasons. I also would not doubt if there was some friction between your aunt/uncle and your father (maybe not fights but some differences of opinions or different ways of viewing a healthy living enviroment). So, you got them one from Best Buy. That means that they can carry it down there for any sort of problem during the warranty without getting the "you're an idiot computer novice" look from a relative. Especially a relative whose son lives with them instead of him. Sounds like your father has serious ego issues that, when not satisfied, he acts like a spoiled child and pitches a fit. Maybe you both have some growing up to do. You being younger, that's kind of a given ;) Of course, all of this is coming from a 40 yr old man who wrote off 99% of his family 10 years ago and couldn't be happier with the absence of the dramatics :D

Never had any CTD's due to the program. Mine were always because I relied on the nVidia drivers to increase my fan speed and it wasn't enough. Started setting it manually and haven't had a problem in well over two years. I run everything on High to Very High on a single GTX260 without overclocking anything in my rig (2.8GHz Intel Quad core, 8GB DDR2, GTX260) at a 1980X1020 Resoltution.

If you have loaded the correct drivers for your OS and the LCD screen on the throttle isn't blue, then try another USB port. Hint: The X52 doesn't like being plugged into an un-powered USB hub (I learned this the hard way lol)

I've had a few inquiries on this sale that seem to fall through when i gave the shipping quote. That's quite understandable considering that most folks didn't hear about UPS, USPS, & FedEx all raised their rates (again) effective Jan 1, 2011. It was a 5.9% increase for FedEx and UPS. I generally do not ship large packages via the US Postal Service as they have a bad habit of misplacing packages and I am left getting asked "Where is it?!??" and not having an answer. This is a larger package. It is 20X20X24 and weighs close to 50 lbs. Each monitor (in the manufacture's packaging) weighs in at 12 lbs. That's 36 pounds in LCD monitors alone. The TH2G weighs in just at 3lbs when in the manufacturer's packaging. Add in overall packaging (box and interior cushoning) and it makes for a sizeable package. The packaging materials are going to run just under $15+ tax. So, please understand this when making an inquiry. I'd much rather sell this to a fellow DCS'er or FC2'er from here. I prefer to set up a private eBay auction so the buyer will have ebay's Buyer Protection and that way the entire transaction is tracked. I've pruchased things online in the past and gotten screwed. I don't want anyone who buys anything from em to get screwed. Money is too hard to come by these days for everyone. If the shipping winds up less than quoted, I will refund the difference. I'm not into keeping someone else's hard earned cash due to an overquote in shipping costs. Honesty generally keeps me broke lol!

That crack will greatly affect tracking. It creates both a blocked area for the camera and also a point of diffraction. As far as keeping things steady, adjust the deadzones for each axis (after you get the camera face replaced).

Both! The KA-50's systems were engineered in a different time period. The A-10C has been majorly updated to current standards. The challenge of each is unique and equally enjoyable each in their own way :)

Welcome to the club! :) 17 years and counting here. My wife still gets carded when buying beer too! The secret - no kids LOL! (we can't have any due to medical probs btw) Congrats!

Matrox Digital TripleHead2Go w/ latest firmware update Three Acer X203H LCD Monitors (each w/ DVI Cable) I cannot set these up for 240V use. All items come in the manufacture's packaging and include manuals/driver CD's. I used the set up for just at a year. Selling because the set up took up the greater majority of my desk. Not having a dedicated simpit and needing to reclaim the space, I had to buckle down and go back to a single monitor. Video footage of the set up: (all videos were made using Win XP 32, 4GB DDR2-800, Intel Q9550 Quad Core, and one MSI 8800GTS 640MB vid card. At the time of the videos, the TH2G did not support the native resolution of the LCD's, so everything was running as 3840x768. With the latest firmware update, the resolution can be run at 4800X900. Video with camera behind my chair: Ingame video recorded as part of the Wings Of Prey Review: Ingame short Vid of DCS Blackshark: Price is $425 + shipping
