Dont the vikhrs outrange the hellfires? I definitelly saw a video stating that vikhrs are faster, more accurate and have longer range. Sadly bs3 isnt coming, but the bs2 is still very capable, if only it would lock according to contrast then even aircraft should be scared of it. No interest in the kiowa (ugly cockpit and not very capable), a bit of interest in the hind (nice cockpit but capabilty below ka50). Bo105 looks good too, the apache looks good and is capable. I guess its the only thing that can compete against bs3.

VirPil helicopter collective controls
BranchPrediction replied to Sokol1_br's topic in VIRPIL Controls
The vkb gunfighter has a clutch. U can remove the springs and tighten the clutch to get that trim ur talking about. And what i also like about it is that they have now made the grip fully metal. Look it up, mcg gunfighter base + mcg ultimate grip. It is ofcourse rather pricey. -
For some time i did a full "by the book" ka-50 start and then all the "by the book" bit tests. Was fun and satisfying imo. Takes quite some time tho.

Damn it, no iglas and mlwr. Thats a huge bummer for me. Apache is coming yeah but an attack helo controlled by just one guy has its own charm. Still hoping for these bs3 capabilities tho.

I like the ka50 collective more, but does its handle rotate? Like the huey's collective. -
No dlss in dcs tho, the 20 series didnt sell well anyways.
-
I actually think otherwise, dlss accumulates info over the span of a few frames, its temporal just like rtx ray tracing, it will use info from the previous frames to reconstruct the next coming frame, ue4 has had temporal upscaling before dlss. This temporal approach just has artifacts, i know most guys like nvidia but there is no other way, it will have artifacts, 1 artifacts is ghosting behind moving images (sometimes in front too) just like taa. I dont think the future will be artifacty upscaling, i think it will be true resoultion without artifacts from upscaling. Like i said earlier taa existed on ue4 before dlss but games that have taa and dlss only get dlss. Why? I think because nvidia and epic (whom love each other) dont allow for taa because that is better for the 20series. But u can sometimes enable taa in the consoles and whatnot haha. Im telling ya nvidia and epic are shady.

Has anyone tried the 10900k yet?

Yeah haha, im playing dcs right now and when i enable afterburner overlay what do i see? Yeap u guessed it! Core 0 is pegged at 100% percent (r5 3600) holding back my gpu (rx 5700xt). : ( -

Well its certainly stupid to be a fan of a company, but amd did give us more cores and lower prices. But amd would too milk us i think. I like the fact they gave us more cores and better prices and thats it. -

Its really interesting. Intel has 50ns of latency to the ram, amd zen 2 (3000 series) has 75ns. These numbers are at 3200mhz and testing was done by hardware unboxed. If u tune the memory u can go into the 60s on zen 2, but u will never reach 50ns. I think memory latency is a big advantage that intel has. Zen 3 will improve on it, but the interesting thing is that intel should improve on it too. A leaked slide showed that intel wont be realeasing any desktop cpus this year, which is a shame, looks like amd has this year with their zen 3. But maybe intel will still be better in single core next year, if they can get a new μarch with better ipc, better mem latency and atleast good clockspeeds. Better mem latency will yield better scaling when ocing. -
there was a video on youtube by ED themselves showing their work on a new pilot body made with better tools and so will be o fmuch higher quality. i have no doubt that they will implement it to our ka50 aswell. pilot body is a must imo, its really cool.

Yo, im quite late, but still. I wanted to suggest the upcoming amd ryzen 4000 series cpus. I realize that maybe u cannot wait that long, but ryzen 4000 might finally take the lead in single core performance too and since thats exactly what u are looking for, it might be a good choice to wait. 4th gen ryzen will have 8 cores on 1 die (good for L3 cache latency), higher IPC and higher clocks than 3th gen ryzen. Right now Intel has generally 50% less ram latency (depends on ram clock and timings), better core to core latency (thanks to the ringbus architecture) and ofcourse clocks quite a bit higher (thx 14nm+++). IPC is really similair if not better on ryzen 3000 (check hardware unboxed's video). I myself also value single core perf over multi core perf but when i was building my pc i bought an r5 3600 which is ok in single core perf, i would have gone for a i5 10600K if that was avaiable 10 months ago. Now ill buy whatever is better when 4th gen ryzen and intels 11th series release, no biased purchases over here. -

M1Combat, good points but u might be wrong about S.E.B. tho. He speaks Russian and uses machine translation, there are 2 problems with that. 1 machine translation isnt perfect and 2 when translating military terms it will definitely have problems. So S.E.B. has to translate the text and then spend quite some time figuring out what was said. Im not anyone's side specifically here. Just pointing something out. -

Yeah sure but this is simply not the case, i doubt i have to give u any examples as u undoubtedly should have seen them urself. But its alright i suppouse, which is why i said that it would be a nice feature to have, not a must. -

a contrast based lock for shkval would be a very nice feature to have, i mean i can lock a jet against the clear sky only if it is close enough and coming pretty much right at me. but it that jet is going from left to right against a clear sky it is not possible to lock it. in this scenario a real contrast lock would be very very helpfull but in other scenarios it would be less effective, but at the end of the day, it would be much more realistic. but i think this might be hard to implement for dcs, or maybe not who knows. -

Maybe Fri13 is talking about the vikhr fragmentation not being modeled in dcs and not the proximity fuze? -
2nd is probably post processing showing an artifact. the first one, the reflections, they got decreased with an update. do u have the latest dcs open beta?

sad : ( Ka50 is such an amazing helicopter. Imagine it with IR and Iglas. Russians make some awesome military aircrafts and systems. -

Heated conversation going on here and i wish to add more fuel to it. When the new Ka50 BS3 comes out, ill hop on a server and ill shoot down other BS2 'only' pilots and then i can already imagine the BS2 'only' pilots complaining hahaha. -
im a heli pilot in dcs and since im not all that interested in jets, i didnt buy one in dcs. But ever since JF 17 came out i kinda wanted to get in to jets aswell. Well i didnt, for many reaons like lack of proper controls. Just wanted to say, to me the JF 17 seems the most interresting between the all fixed wings.

If u want ur disatisfication with ED's decision to be heard then i would suggest that u write it on the russian ka50 forum. The russian devs are way more active on the russian forum. -

Well, im happy that ed is finally showing some love to the oldest (and best imo) dcs module, but ed did a free cokpit update and they want to get paid for there work. But they cant charge for a cokpot update and so they make bs3. U could argue that only because of bs3, which isnt free, did we get a free cockpit update. They said something similair on the russian forums! Which is why i welcome the bs3 upgrade. And ofcourse a2a is very nice to have aswell. The ones who dont want bs3 can simply not buy it. But i think they dislike others seeing other people (enemies) in bs3's on servers. As it isnt proven to exist. Im all for bs3.
