That won't be enough, I'm afraid. And I don't want people using magnifying glass to read the kneeboards. My spatial thinking sucks, so it helps me to correlate the numbers (05L-23R) with the actual runway and visualize my position in relation to it (if that makes any sense). I'm still looking for a way to relatively painlessly support both formats. Should I decide to drop the Seconds for good, I'll post the sources. -

You have to believe me when I'm saying there's no room for more data. And I can't just shrink this text or move that thing without degrading the readability and uniformity even further. Having both coordinates would be nice, that's for certain. Having MGRS would be nice as well - despite there is no aircraft that rely on this system exclusively. On one hand we have a couple dozen Viper drivers asking for the Decimals. On another hand we have nobody telling us they're constantly using the current format -

Thanks for confirming it, especially this part: I've tried splitting larger templates into smaller chunks, but it's the same song, different verse: instead of freezing on the first or second part, it freezes on fourth or seventh.

Hi all, I've created a bunch of templates with several hundred objects in each. They are just the usual static aircraft, vehicles and ships (no mods). When I'm trying to import them into an empty mission, the import times are unpredictable. Sometimes all templates are importing instantaneously, and sometimes it takes one of them (could be any) up to five minutes to import. I cannot figure out the pattern, except that if I played with the Mission Editor before starting importing things, the import would almost certainly be slow. Sometimes restarting DCS helps -- sometimes not. I wonder if anyone else have encountered the same issue. My master MIZ file (that contains all of the objects) loads in seconds. Finished exporting everything into the templates today, and encountered a very nasty issue. When importing any template into a blank mission file, it loads nearly instantaneously. When, however, I'm trying to import a second template into the same mission, it takes up to five minutes to complete. This is, of course, unacceptable. This affects only the static templates. My master .miz file (1700+ objects) have normal loading times. As of now, I have no idea how to solve this. Ув. разработчики, отреагируйте на это сообщение, пожалуйста. Проблеме уже минимум несколько лет. Хотя решение, как мне кажется, лежит на поверхности: всегда по-умолчанию активировать такан и илс на текущий юнит, если вручную не выбрано иное.

The new templates are nearly done. And when I say "new", I mean they are being created completely from scratch. The first part (of planned eight) will contain the majority of the 1300+ objects I hand-placed across the Marianas, and will be mod-free. Reworked the carrier templates to allow for at least four spawn locations on each: Made the North West Field worth visiting: Twy F and South Ramp 7 arm/de-arm areas at Andersen:

Guys, I have a small request. Could you please, wherever possible, avoid signs written in any specific language? I mean, brand names (Toyota, Hesco) are obviously fine. And Arabic words on an insurgent vehicle are fine too. But neutral looking objects, such as this gate, look weird when placed anywhere but Caucasus.

Yep, but it could very well be that the majority of folks just don't care about these coordinates at all. If someone would say, "dude, me and my RIO -- we rely on them in every flight," that would be a good enough reason for me. ============== Small update: 24 December 2021 - Nevada: Boulder City ATC added. Can't you do the same with [8] ? Interestingly enough, I remember placing a handful of them back in July, and they've spawned with their wings unfolded. When I load the same file now, they spawn with their wings folded. I haven't touched this file since July when this screenshot was taken: -

Hey guys! Over the past months more than enough people asked if I could make these kneeboards with coordinates in decimals (DD°MM.mmm') instead of seconds (DD°MM'SS"). Since maintaining two sets of kneeboards will be a major PIA (and I would like to avoid this as much as possible), I'm thinking of simply replacing seconds with decimals, and calling it a day. So if you're actively using seconds in the current kneeboards (emphasis on "actively"), I would like to hear your opinion on this. To my knowledge, support of different coordinate systems in our modules stands as follows: Decimals / 42°10.76' Hornet (supports seconds as well) A-10C Viper Ka-50 Upcoming Apache Mirage (not sure about this one) NS430 (not that it matters, but still) Seconds / 42°10'46" Harrier (entered in seconds, displayed in decimals?) Tomcat JF-17 Viggen -
Yes, but the problem arises earlier, when you're choosing an object for placement. You have to double-check everything, constantly. Not the end of the world, sure. But, as I said, it makes things unnecessarily harder. Just so a user with the labels on would see "SAM SA-23 S-300VM Giant TEL B" instead of "SAM SA-23 S-300VM Giant TEL B - HDSM".

I believe that this has been fixed. You should probably mark the topic accordingly, for people who will inevitably stumble upon it while looking for info on that datablock (not described in the Hornet's manual).

Based on my previous experience with such reports, you won't get any. The topic is already marked as "reported" ("We've heard you, okay?"), and will most certainly be closed as "no longer relevant" in time for the 2.8.0 release. -

I seriously doubt that a poor ED fella, that mashes "approve" button twice a day, would have time to check every skin for historical (in)accuracy. Moreover, I think that the recent removal of the rating feature clearly shows that ED doesn't want to discriminate the content creators. Personally, I don't mind an occasional fictional skin in my feed. Some of them are truly beautiful. But I would like an ability to blacklist certain creators that post irritating stuff on purpose. -

You'll need the "modified" mod itself, and the so called "VPC fix". Links to both are available in this post: Installation instructions are included with the downloads. VPC fix can be installed without OvGME, but you'll have to repeat this process after each DCS update.
