  1. FYI, closest thing to DCS is "Total War: Warhammer 2 Campaign Benchmarks" by gamers nexus
  2. Why so many people are obsessed with memory usage. Allocating and freeing memory is actually time consuming operation, that's is why these days memory managers prefer to allocate memory in larger blocks and only free memory when it is really needed.
  3. Maybe its just my imagination, but 1.4 to 1.5 PD is like huge jump in clarity. Going higher that 1.5 doesn't do much.
  4. Are you sure your test is accurate? I'm pretty sure those numbers are either not possible
  5. After playing around with settings i've came to conclusion that best settings are PD 1.5 with MSAAx2. What settings are you guys using?
  6. You don't even need 9900k. 8700k@5Ghz is still the way to go
  7. There is nothing Vulkan can do, DX12 can't do.
  8. What exactly do you expect from WMR 2.0?
  9. So i've upgraded my O+ to Rift S and i must say that Rift S is really big improvement over O+ in DCS. Clarity is amazing.
  10. You definitely need to upgrade your PC for Rift S. Oh wait, you have top components
  11. AMD spent millions on marketing last 6 months. Everyone was so hyped, but in the end 8700k OCed to 5ghz is still the way to go. What a dissapointment
  12. How exactly is 4k different from 2k anyways? Are you sitting 30cm away from 65 inch tv?
  13. So another 1.5 gen headset. Damn
  14. As someone else mentioned problem is spikes. You can spend hours tuning your settings but when you fly to some place with lots of geometry and all of the sudden you sitting at 30 fps
  15. Anyone upgraded from Odyssey+ to Rift S? Was it worth it?
  16. WMR doesn't require 55-60 fps to work properly. What they MS guy told, is that your PC should be capable of rendering game at about 60 fps, because interpolation itself requires some GPU horsepower. Same is valid for Oculus ASW too, because interpolation doesn't come for free.
  17. Vulkan is actually pretty bad for smaller game studios. Sure, it's amazing for studios that focus on game engines. It offers little gain over dx12 but requires tons of expertise.
  18. You can disable WMR reprojection by commenting motionreprojectionMode line: "driver_Holographic_Experimental" : { // Motion reprojection doubles framerate through motion vector extrapolation // motionvector = force application to always run at half framerate with motion vector reprojection // auto = automatically use motion reprojection when the application can not maintain native framerate // "motionReprojectionMode" : "auto" Howerver, if you disable motionreprojection and if your fps are below 60 - SteamVR rotational correction will kick in. It will simply lock your fps at 45 without doing any sort of interpolation. This mode just plain sucks
  19. People fail to realize, that in order for re-projection to work game actually should be able to run at 60 fps. So basically if you only get about 50 fps with re-projection disabled re-projection will cause bloor etc.
  20. 499€ one is already out of stock
  21. Not really. Problem is not GPU power, problem are lenses. As soon as someone comes up with solution that will not require lenses to magnify imagine we won't need these crazy resolutions anymore. Right now everyone is choosing easy mode increasing pixel count. Just like car makers in 1980ies
  22. So judging by reviews picture clarity in Index still not comparable to monitor. That's unfortunate
  23. LCD is still LCD. You can't have both SDE-less screen and deep blacks
