Engine & Rotor RPM Tied Together
theinmigrant replied to Flamin_Squirrel's topic in Bugs and Problems
Sadly I found this thread. I reported this today but just found out it is a 3 year old bug. So all the hope I had for a fix got washed out with this. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=245052 -
And I thought I knew stuff about radar technology :book:

Hi guys, I was thinking about getting the Gazelle and wanted to ask the community if it is worth it. For me worth it is based on whether it simulates accurately the systems, engine, transmission, and flight model. For example, does it simulate?: EGT, freewheeling unit, VRS, torque limits, etc. Thank you all.
-
Ok, I just saw this review where the pilot says exactly what Im saying, so I guess this is an old bug. Looking forward to seeing this fixed :)
-
Attached a track where we can see how the freewheeling unit of the huey is not modeled. The only simulation I found is for complete engine loss. But clearly there is no simulation of the system when engine is running. Splitting the needles is impossible unless there is an engine failure. Please let me know if you need more explanation. I'll be happy to help. I was using the keyboard for collective so excuse me for the clumbsy flight. I read somewhere else that this was indeed simulated before but somehow got broken. Might be? Thanks. UH engine clutch bug.trk

The radar does measure the frequency change in carrier wave, but it doesnt do it for processing doppler effect. It does it for pulse compression differentiation purposes.

I was going to jump in here and explain this as well, so I'll just concur. There seems to be a lot of confusion when it comes to notch when people think the notch is when the target is at 0 relative speed to the beam when its not, its at actually the same speed as the aircraft. Cheers.

[NO BUG] HARM hitting unit but doing no damage
theinmigrant replied to DeathAngel1's topic in General Bugs
Well, the HARM does have a very small warhead so we should look at whether this is a bug or intended. I agree they do very little damage as of now. -
No, you cant. We need to wait until the INS is fully simulated to account for winds. The cbu 99 does account for winds in my several tests, BUT the aircraft accounts for winds in the launch altitude. If the winds change at impact level then the cbu will be affected.

1- Yes it does. 2- Thats a very good question, im afraid only ED knows. 3- Not full, but initial MSI

The display type selector doesnt work, thats why I asked this. The display limit works funny, sometimes shows very low priority emitters.

I always try to make my missions as much realistic as I can. For example I place A LOT of early warning radars just like IRL there are tons around. The problem is that the hornet RWR gets really messy. How can I do to not show search radars?

[MISSING TRACK FILE] RWR spurious lock tone
theinmigrant replied to raelias's topic in Bugs and Problems
Then it would be good for the OP to get a track so ED can fix it. -
[MISSING TRACK FILE] RWR spurious lock tone
theinmigrant replied to raelias's topic in Bugs and Problems
The only thing that makes me think this might be a bug is the fact that it happens only for lock on warning but it doesnt happen for launch warnings. So if we were talking about simulating a narrow wave pattern that somehow "touches" our plane in the way then we should hear both warnings, and as I said we only hear the lock on one. Hope it has something to do, I might be wrong. -

 Sure I wasnt trying to, love DCS and ED. Just wanting to know more about this feeling I had about the HOTAS. I just cant accept that slaving something to a waypoint isnt possible through hotas, thats all. Just a feeling.
-
Ouch, ok got it. I know it doesnt matter what I think, I was just trying to see what others think as well and have a conversation. I know im new to the forums but there was no need to be so rude. But we will still need to press it to point the TGP. I thought perhaps as development evolved ED implemented something about this matter that wasnt done before due to development and project management. There are tons (not yet implemented) of hotas functions when the HSI is selected as "sensor of interest" and perhaps one of them was WPDSG. Obviously this thread wasnt welcome, so please feel free to delete.

I find doubtful that the hornet didnt have a hotas button for waypoint designate and that they had to look down and use the ampcd or ddis. This is mainly bad when using mavericks at the moment, as in order to point the seeker to a waypoint (most common practice in real combat as described in the fighter pilot podcast) we have to designate the waypoint and then undesignate it to be able to slew the mav. Additionally (and Im sure this is a bug) when we undesignate we lose the WYPT option boxed so we dont know range anymore until boxing again that button. This is a huge drawback. I trully dont think the hornet relied so much in ddis and ampcd buttons to accomplish tasks. What do others think about this?

I was under the impression that today we were going to have an OB update due to the way the schedule got scrambled. Mainly thought they were going to fix the MSI that was giving ED headackes.
-
I personally hate the green stuff of the hornet. It looks SO old. I love the white/grey of the super hornets. And the FLIRs image are so much modern in black and white.
-
No, the cirlces are not stuck at any range. They are simply not correctly implemented. You can always launch when the IN RNG countdown is at 1 minute and the JSOW will still hit the target. I knew this was going to happen when Wags showed the video of the JSOW and the missile reached the target at almost 600 knots, then I realized that we had a lot of margin in airspeed to trade for range.
-
It does work with engines off, and it does need hyd press. It uses the apu accumulator.
-
Oh ok, then ED must have fixed it recently. Thats why it doesnt work in the stable. I run the OB.
