I haven’t had a crash yet with the AI on takeoffs, even with normal max take off weight but I know others have. The AI does pull stupid aoa, and come really close. I have also seen the AI get slow, 115kts or so and get stuck and fail to recover. Literally just fall out of the sky. Hoping it will be fixed this week as it’s caused me to be unable to work on t a campaign I’m building.

I have noticed that it isn't just takeoffs, I watched an AI Hornet attempt to rejoin with the recovery tanker. After turning in he bleeds speed down to 115 kts and gets stuck. Literally just falls out of the sky from 6000ft. Plenty of gas, this occurs just after take off. Never plugs the blower in, just sits there at high AoA, 116kts or so, chasing the tanker and falling out of the sky until splash. I'll try and grab a .trk file. Something screwy is going on and it's not just take off.

So it appears this bug was fixed for the F-14B, but has no cropped up for the F-14A in the 7/21/21 patch. Strange, and frustrating. I had changed all my statics and templates over to the A model since it wasn't bugged, now it is and the B isn't.

Can you send a screenshot of the controls? I'm trying to tune to a preset and also change it to compass to radio direction find to a ground unit for a farp.

If you mean the one with the selector behind the left elbow of the pilot/commander the rotary dial does not change the presets I've set in the ME for the R-828.

Where is the control head for the FM air to ground radio. I can see it with SRS but can’t tune it.

The radios, navigation. Everyone is posting videos of the weapons, the beauty, the sounds. I don’t know how to navigate or get from point a to b and back. I for one am desperate for a more complete Mi-24 HIND guide.

I wish there was a way to set it for AI aircraft, or at least get them to stack up. I have tried statics on deck etc, but currently the AI aircraft just fly the case 1 pattern and land immediately, I can't get them to stack in the marshal and wait on a launch before recovering.

Has anyone noticed the JSOW-A doesn't seem to do any damage. I put a couple on a sam site, SA-5, and watched the bomblets hit the launcher and the radar. There didn't seem to be any damage though. Radar continued to work, missiles continued to come off the launcher. Tried again with JDAMS, and no issues so the units aren't set to invincible or anything.

How to Activate Supercarrier Landing Area Lights at Night?

I have flown several CASE III approaches, and on each the lights have been on for me. One thing I have noticed is that the Long Range Laser Lineup System is visible for miles, but, the rabbit lights and LA lights are dim and can only be visually acquired from a couple miles. Edit: At your TACAN distance though they should be on. I'm thinking you needed to call inbound on comms. Flow is Inbound, Established, Commencing, Platform. Most of the other calls, Needles and such, are automated until the ball call if I remember correctly. -
I would 100% order the P-47 and P-51 version of these.

SA page on cenre MFD now causing massive FPS loss

Looking for some help with DCS-BIOs. Every time I restart my computer and restart DCSBIOS I have to reinstall plugins, with an internet connection. Is there an offline way to do this? Or a permanent way to install the plugins?

What concerns me most is the lack of progress in the modules as of late. Even the the F-16 has slowed down quite a bit. The last couple of patches are a good case in point. The night lighting is a nice upgraded feature, the Radar Gunsights for the Hornet and Viper were nice but not what I would consider big upgrades compared to other features that are missing. New clouds were eliminated, and many features were broken, which led to a small hot fix sans features last week. So one step forward and two back. Now we are looking at another week for a patch that will, maybe fix the issues and add little in the way of new features to existing modules? The new KA-50 cockpit update is nice but I feel like that is effort that would be better spent towards finishing the products that are out there. So what we have is 4 weeks with little progress, and I think the community sees ED as focusing on things to the detriment of EA modules left unfinished, which is probably exacerbated by things like Heatblur and Deka releasing modules that are more complete than what ED has out. Maybe, hopefully, ED is working on big things for the Hornet and the Viper. Maybe big patches with big features are just around the corner, but it doesn't feel like it, and if they are then put it out there. Don't hide the ball we all know whats missing, what needs to be done, and no one is going to be happy if there pet feature is not the one getting worked on. Right now, though, it feels like the focus of ED is on the base game and base features, which are breaking things, and other modules like Supercarrier and the Blackshark 3 and A10C 2 and the unamed module while little focus is on the bought and paid Hornet and Viper. This is what I think is breeding frustration and I think the fix might be more information on what is being worked on for those modules, how far off they are (like a little, not too much, a lot) and maybe just a better statement on where the focus is for the company.

Last mini-update is from 1/27/20, last two patches have been sparse on the Hornet side, im worried about the Hornet getting done in 2020. Seems like there is SOOOO much left to add/fix and time is slipping away.

I have been flying DCS for 8 years, exclusively single player. I want to get into a milsim pve multiplayer group but am completely lost in Reddit discord recruiting. Looking for a group to help me navigate this. Anyone out there.

I can tell you that the SSD made a huge difference. Also I just moved the files. So far no issues except my shortcuts had to be fixed. Probably not the right way to do it. The m.2 SSD has higher transfer rates than data I believe, I can tell you my load times are within 10 seconds instead of 4-5 min.

So I got a 500gb M.2 SSD and 16gb more of ram last night. Moved DCS onto the SSD and loaded it up. Using the same mission, 476th NTTR with the 60 ranges loaded I got a little increase in FPS. On the ground at Nellis where I would get 20-25fps, maybe 30fps here and there I was getting 25-30fps pretty consistently. But, it doesn't feel like that. It feels like a big boost. It is muuuuuuch smoother, much more playable. Flying around is even better, even at the ranges with all the objects loaded. So even though on paper it wasn't much of a gain, objectively it was huge. I'll never go back to an HDD. And loading times? What loading times.

I think the 1080ti is solid, it's just frustrating people post that they are getting 80+fps with systems that seem to be equal or close to mine. Feel like I have something holding me back.

I feel the same way about my GTX 1080. I wonder how much of a difference a RTX 2080 would make.

So I ran the approach some last night. Following the break as on the charts I ended up with a single turn to final 180 degrees and a short 5-10 second final for line up. Felt like a very aggressive approach. Not sure what it should look like. Anyone have a vid that shows and actual approach. Other than that it went well, stayed within the limits without issue
