Yeh the sim runs but have you checked to see if both VGA cards are running in unison (i.e. equal load distribution)? You'll find they aren't.

Small Packet losses will not crash the clients PCs. If they are getting crashes then it would helpful if they post up their CRASH files. If your just venting your frustration then heck go ahead and post. If you want solutions then you have to be a little bit more helpful I'm afraid. Think of it like this. The more detailed information about the problem that I can provide to ED the greater the chance of them being able to replicate it and solve the problem. This means attaching log files crash files track files router settings PC specs DCS version number Any mods that you have installed and are running attach the .miz file that caused the crash dxdiag files Can I replicate the problem on a friends PC or server? etc Thats just a few I can think of off the top of my head, I'm sure there are more and the content will depend on the nature of the problem you are having. Just telling us what happened and fix it please I'm afraid is of little help for such a complex piece of software (my testers build just hit 12GB! not many games out there can match that).

Ok thanks for that, I was testing it earlier as a Single player, so now it's clear it's a MP client issue. I take it you tried MP with ground FACs and they worked Ok? Also when you say it affects airborne FACs, did you try and replicate with any other AFACs other than a predator?

There is probably some software somewhere that will tell you how much VRAM is being used on your current setup. I would be interested to know too as I am running a 5760x1200 setup with only 2gb VRAM. Of course buffering, antialiasing and a whole bunch of other settings affect how much VRAM is used but it would be interesting to know nonetheless. If I had the choice now I would definitely get the extra VRAM and get the 4gb version. Too much vram is always better than too little.

Yeh, I think the DEV that coded this one is colour blind. :smilewink: Jk. It's a known issue.

If you are running more than 1 monitor which by yr sig it looks like you are then you might like to know that ASUS now have a 4gb 670 GTX Directcu 2 top version.

I have the ASUS and couldn't be happier with it. it's thermal solution make if very overclockable too. Of course that doesn't necessarily mean its any better than the gigabyte. For any answers to these types of questions I usually turn to the experts http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/geforce-gtx-670-test-review,3217.html Edit: http://www.overclockers.com/asus-gtx670-directcu-ii-top-gpu-review

Works fine for me in an A10. Are you trying to communicate in multiplayer OR are trying to communicate with JTAC with the Ka50? If so then ka50s can't use JTAC at the moment. If its a MP client issue then I will have to test further.

You still need a FARP or base to re-arm & refuel at the moment. This function is more of a land somewhere, wait x time, then launch again. As Leto said but it's either feet or meters depending on wether you have your options->gameplay->units set to imperial or metric.

Currently its AI on AI only but testers version has been enhanced to include AI on player. I have asked for it to be included in an autoupdate soon. AI on MP client does not work and may be done some time in the future (its in the feature request box). EDIT: escort on player & follow on player now included in version 1.2.2 (note on player, it will not work on a MP Client).

Thanks Kuky, yep we know about it.

Examples & Issues Attached is a couple of simple examples of missions using these new actions. No known issues at this time, however .. With any new feature in a complex mission editor, it is almost impossible to test every conceivable sequence/use. If you do find a bug or something not working as expected then please post it up so that we can check it out and get it fixed. Landing_out.trk Heli_Land_Out.miz follow_example.miz Escort_example.miz

Land Allows the mission builder to land any helicopter on flat ground anywhere on the map. There is no longer a need to place a FARP or land at a base. Selecting Perform Task -> Land will display another line from the waypoint with a triangle depicting the land point. Hold the triangle and move it to the point you wish the Heli to land at. Apart from the Conditions there is only 1 parameter LAND DURATION. When ticked it allows you to set the time from wheels ON to wheels OFF. The example belows shows 1 minute. . You can place multiple Land actions along your route. Note however, currently there is no way of getting the helicopter to shutdown at the 'Land' position. It will sit there with rotors running indefinately (or until fuel runs out!). Beware setting a helo to land on sloping ground make cause it to slide fall over and explode.

These new advanced actions have been introduced in DCSW 1.2.1. Escort (AI planes or player or client Host only) Follow (planes OR Helicopters only on AI, player or client host) Land (helicopters only) Follow allows you to set any aircraft type to 'follow' another aircraft type at a relative position based on x (fore & -aft), z (-port & starboard), y (above & -below). Any plane (regardless of TASK set) can be set to follow any plane & any heli can be set to follow any heli. Note: only helicopters will engage any enemy when set to follow. Escort Planes will only engage other enemy aircraft when set to 'Escort'. Else if set to 'follow' only the lead aircraft will engage if so equiped. The only aircraft at the moment that can use Escort are those set to ESCORT or SEAD in their Airplane Group TASK. The relative position of the Escort aircraft is same as for the 'follow' action with 2 added parameters; Engage distance, which is the distance from the escort aircraft at which it will leave the formation and engage the enemy aircraft category as set in the checkbox parameters directly below (double click to select). This is provided that the enemy are detected by the escorting aircrafts onboard eqpt or awacs. Diag below Both follow and escort can be set at any waypoint as a waypoint action or used in a triggered action. The LAST WPT when ticked allows you to set at which WP of the GROUP aircraft ('New Airplance Group' in the example) you want to stop following or escorting. The aircraft will then proceed directly to the next WPT it is yet to sequence on its route. Setting a heli to follow another heli that has yet to take-off will force the following heli to orbit nearby until lead heli gets airborne.

ED SIMS SCREENSHOT AND VIDEO THREAD!!!! (NO USER MODS OR COMMENT)
Druid_ replied to rekoal's topic in Screenshots and Videos
Those spokes or tapes as you call them are made of steel and very difficult to break, they are more likely to be bent. The problem of course is when the aircraft retreats and hopefully doesn't take the basket with him. Its more likely that his probe will break though to be honest. a couple more pics... -

It was a bug, hence the screenshot and the report that went in. It's fixed. Its something that does occasionally happen IRL so I quite like the picture. -

Poor old F18C was feeling a little left out so ... -
Ok there is a known bug here that is fixed in the testers build. I have already asked for the fix to be pushed forwards into an autoupdate. The problem lies with the fact that as the JTAC has no waypoints he has in effect reached his last waypoint and all tasks are stopped. I have added a waypoint to each of your JTACs and set a HOLD action at the initial waypoint so they don't in fact move. Therefore he hasn't reached his last WP and the tasks aren't stopped. BS2 1.2.x bugs and glitches thread (not CTD/BSOD)
Druid_ replied to Erforce's topic in Bugs and Problems
please put DCSW bugs in the thread designed for this purpose. Its easier for ED and for the testers to monitor. http://forums.eagle.ru/forumdisplay.php?f=185 thanks. -
If that doesn't work, please post the mission and I'll take a look.

I'd hate to add up the number of hours I've spent with these new actions. It was time well spent and full credit goes to the Dev responsible for coding it. There are a few small issues but if you keep it fairly simple then it works fine. They will be very useful to mission builders especially for those who want different aircraft types to fly in tight or loose formation which wasn't previously possible. Just to add, there is no 'escort' action for helicopters only planes (who are set to ESCORT or SEAD task), but helicopers will assist by engaging targets when set to 'follow'. Plane AI will only leave the formation and engage targets within a set radius when set to 'escort'. If set to 'follow' they remain with the lead.

OK, so ED are aware of this problem and no doubt will come up with a solution. A possible solution is that they will change the 1.2.1`files on the store so that activations aren't taken. Its difficult to say right now and to be honest I don't know what they will propose or do. I cannot however imagine that they 'expect' everyone to lose an activation unecessarily. In the meantime of course it's your decision if you want to wait for a solution before updating and we can respect that.

you will only have to update once and all files you require for a complete update will be included.
