  1. Will do budy ;) Should be able to get some good ones especially while flying around in a MIG-29UB!
  2. Sorry that I don't speak Russian, but I was wondering if anyone will be going to MAKS next weekend? I will be staying in Moscow at the National and going to the show ;) Anyone going to be around that time that speaks some english? Would be fun to meet some people there ;) ***BABLEFISHED*** Огорченно что я не говорю русского, только он интересовал если любое будет идти к MAKS следующий викэнд? Я буду оставаться в moscow на соотечественнике и идтись к выставке;) Любое идя быть вокруг того времени говорит некоторую английскую язык? Был потехой для того чтобы встретить некоторые людей там;)
  3. Is anyone else going to be there? I leave on the 16th and am staying at the National in Moscow. Would be cool to meet up with some fellow simmers there.
  4. Does anyone use this feature??? I have been doing so for awhile, and after playing some BF2 I was thinking how nice it would be if the log book could get some upgrades in a future/upcoming patch. I don't think that a multi-player points thing is the way to go, but some new features and fixes would be nice? BTW, Is there anyone who knows how the medals and ranks are rewarded? I recv'd ALL the medals after one crazy flight, but that was the only time.....since then I have earned nothing? I know you can edit a file to bring back the dead pilots, but I prefer to start over......check the last flight.....2+ hrs and I got ambushed about 80k from home base after a 2000km flight. grrrrrr!!!!
  5. what is "a robot to click ad's"? I thought clicking the ads was the point? Can someone please explain.... Sry to hear about this :(
  6. The world (of lock on) is what you make of it. There is lots to do there. I like it better than topgun for the original nintendo which is the only other flight sim i played seriously. I just wish the campaigns were better.
  7. even BF2 has better vapor effects than LOMAC.
  8. Here you go....This is the "Breifing" screen.
  9. Make sure the game is not paused from the time you hit f7 to view the shilka, you can use the alt+A to slow down the action and make it easier to follow. I havent recorded anything with an Su-25t so maybe there is an issue there? send me the track if you want I will try it out :)
  10. You can't split a track on the front side, only shorten it so what I meant was that instead of just saving the full track with ALL of your view edits in one sweep, just leave the camera default until the time to "punch-in" then grab the 30 secs or so of footage and stop the track, re-name it and begin the process again. This will also help eleviate the game not remembering the proper view adjustments. NOTE: Even though v1.1 seems to do much better with saving the proper views I still would recommend the following.... 1. Leave the camera in the default position until you get to the point you want to record. 2. I never will use the ctrl+ZOOM function or any advanced camera changes while the game is paused. Like rugg said I just got used to work arounds in 1.02 so I continue to practice them because I know there will not be issues.
  11. I have this issue also, but it is because of the type of headset I use "Plantronics". When you are ready to render something try unplugging your headset or speakers BEFORE YOU FIRE UP LOCK ON. do you renders then exit out and plug your headset back in. That might help ;)
  12. this has been a known issue from the beginning. You can't open a file that goes over 2 gig. The work around in FCv1.1 was to add the ability to render #'d screen shots. Then you have only the pain of converting them over into an AVI. I would never recommend rendering 32 min of footage LOL!!! This has been my experience with File size and rendering: 1. Don't bother with the provided codecs......the are ALL of poor quality IMO. 2. Try and keep renders as short as possible. (No need to explain as you have already experienced the frustration.) 3. 30 secs of uncompressed avi = ~2gigs 4. Cockpit renders are bigger files for some reason? 20-22secs= ~2gigs 5. With v1.1 the camera angles are saved correctly so there is no need to render unwanted footage. (However, during the audio render it will start from the beginning of the track.) ex. If you wanted to render the landing at 30mins of your 32 minute track, you can "punch-in" the render at 30mins and thats where it will start creating the avi, but when it goes to convert the audio it will start at 0min and playback 0-30min and then begin recording at 30-32min. (DO NOT QUIT DURING THIS PROCESS) Note: You do not get any unwanted audio, but its just the pain of having to wait through the process ;) 32min for 2min :? 6. There is a bug with the render function when mission is not created using the date "001". It will cause the render to go directly to audio portion and then back to debrief w/o rendering anything. NOTE: I have NOT confirmed this in FCv1.1 7. Finished movies should be around 7-10meg/minute My advise on a 32 minute track.... If you are wanting to show this as a "ride along" or mission type movie. 1. Create your storyboard, timeline, etc. 2. Create a new folder in your /lockon/missions/tracks folder "Ride-Along" and then some subfolders ie. Cockpit, Flanker, F2 views or whatever you need to organize your different tracks that you edit. Put your original 32min track in the "Ride Along" folder. 3. Now get your edited clips from the original recorded track by selecting the "ride along.trk" file and using ctrl+E to launch the game. Save each .trk with a new name. ie. Su-27 takeoff-f2-1m35s. NOTE: It is important to note the times of the "punch-in/out" of each .trk **You will basically have the entire movie in raw .trk files in the folder you created within your missions/tracks folder. 4. Just open a .trk file and select the render option. I would use the 1280x1024 # screen shot and uncompressed audio method personally to render the clips but however you decide to do it is up to you. Input the correct "punch-in/out" times and quality options and render it. NOTE: Because this is done in game frame by frame CPU processing speed is not an issue. Feel free to completely MAX out your settings, including on your Graphics card! It just may take a bit longer to render. 5. Now you must convert these into avi's and begin the editing process with w/e program you are using for that ;) 6. I have noticed the audio is usually slightly off and it is necessary to manually repair this during editing. I'm sure you already know most of this but hope it helps you or someone else ;)
  13. Yeah, I came down to fly with you the other day but you were afk. BTW ....56k warning on that link :P
  14. Check this link for lots of pics. http://www.militaryphotos.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=53812
  15. this started bothering me too, so now when I make missions I put intel in the briefing and omitt the target diamond. Makes it more challenging.
  16. don't die.....thats how to keep the log book going properly ;) I had a pilot that had like 100 hrs and all metals with about 20 missions on my belt, and I got killed by the damn *ROE* "Don't fire unless fired upon!!" It was very disappointing.

  18. this happened to me and I ended up reformatting. Works good again. Never found the exact issue though.
  19. hehe very unfortunate
  20. IMO, NO military will plan or execute missions with low to zero success rates. i.e. "We have 14 bandits inbound!!! You going out by yourself to kill them all!" I find the most satisfaction in completing a mission on the 1st try. IRL, im sure most missions are fairly "uneventful", and there are other ways to make a mission difficult w/o adding lots of threats. 1. Environmental settings (Wind and Turbulance are great fun for ground attack and landings) 2. Try not using target designators, but actual intel in your briefing for mission goals. i.e. "Target is 4km SE of waypoint 5". 3. Limit your loadouts. (the less you got the more important a 1st hit is) I made a 4 seat MP Su-33 campaign, and there is not even a hostile aircraft in the 1st 9 missions, and its still hard as hell ;)
  21. I pretty sure its not the station #, because it is not consistantly the same numbers. That seems redundant anyway.
  22. also if someone could explain the #'s displayed above the stations in ground mode for the Su-33? I can't figure out a pattern, at first I thought the numbers corresponded to the actual bomb type i.e. 10=ODAB 500, but I don't think thats right.
  23. 1. Once you have positioned the units the way you want, select another entity from the list on the left. (It doesnt matter what, but this seems to get the editior off the group with resetting its default positions. 2. You can only see icons, you just have to get used to bouncing from game back to editor. 3. Trains are currently not available with the standard editor. (I have noticed that they seem to always start in the same places so you can still build missions that utilize them.) 4. You are probably right about the additional objects at the AF, those planes should taxi to an apron? (Occasionaly an entity will just get "bugged" somehow, and alot of times just delete and a new 1 of the same type will fix the problem.) Try and remove the other objects 1st though, then fly the mission and see where he taxi's to. Then when you put bake the other objects you will know his route. I will usually build missions in this order, and after making 1,000's of them i have figured out work arounds for most of the issues. 1- Weather and lighting and coalitions 2- Target goal layout (i.e. buidlings, static vehicles, etc) example: "Road Block, HQ, etc" 3- Enemy and friendly air and ground units (surrounding or support entities, not usually part of main goal) example: AWACS, vehicles at friendly airports, etc. 3- Friendly units (not players) IF DESIRED to assist in mission goal. example: Bombers, tanks, etc. (run mission and make sure of desired outcome) 4- Now add enemy air/ ground units that will actually prevent desired outcome. example: Intercept group, AAA, etc. (again run mission to make sure this time the goal is not reached) 5- Players and/or clients 6- Mission Goals *Remeber to set all of your attack info and WP's for each entity!!! *If making a campaign, I will build a base mission and save it, and then extrapolate from that one, each time saving under a new name. (This will help with continuity) example: an elborate HQ at home base, will not need to be recreated for each mission, as well as static air defenses in theatre like SAM's, and even awacs or tankers. Hope that helps ;)
