When I turn on labels, game freezes (not to return) & generates Crash Report Been an issue for a long time, however I very seldom turn labels on so just now getting around to report it Any ideas to fix this will be appreciated
-
It's all been MP (Enigma's Cold War & Hoggit Training) Did another full DCS Repair and then doing a "Request Repair" every spawn seems to work... so far
-
I was going to share a track... but "Request Repair" appeared to have worked. That was a few days ago Today the no-brakes issue has reemered regardless of "Request Repair".... once, I didn't have Rudders either
-
Ok. Both HYD guages (Norm/Emer) showing green post start to takeoff. Everything appears to be working as it should with the exception of the brakes. I even turned NWS off prior to takeoff and promptly started to swerve off the runway. Brake pedals still move when I press them looking like they're working, they just don't.
-
The NWS issue isn't really a problem (until I need it after landing). I figured something along the lines of what you said. The problem so far has been not having regular toe-brakes, at all. I'll check the Hydraulic system in a few minutes (currently doing another repair for other issues). However, seems odd to me I would have Hydraulics issues every flight, every time I log on.

No Brakes Well... the Parking Brake works But no normal brakes. They're mapped correctly (I even tried inverting them just in case). The pedals move when I press the brake(s), but no brakes ~at all~. The only way to stop is to hit the parking brake. "W" doesn't work either. They were working the other day... but as of today I have no brakes. FWIW, I did a DCS "repair" between now and the last time they worked (trying to fix the "no text comms menu" bug that I still haven't figured out. Also: When rolling on takeoff, eventually the "STEER" indicator goes off (which I think is normal operation), however, the plane then wants to veer to the right (usually right). When the brakes were working, I could compensate by using them... because there's no rudder authority at all. So I would think if the Nosewheel Steering is set to turn off at a certain speed, then that speed ought be pretty close to that which allows the rudder to work. It's bad.

Yep... this is about a 1 in 4 flights kinda thing

Ok Fixing the VIACOM issue fixed my Radio Comms (Text) in all the other aircraft.... but not in the 339. Still no radio comms menu
-
OK, FWIW... I can't get the Comms Menu (Text) to work at all, in any module. This started after I installed the 339 (just today tried to fly something else for the first time.) Did a Repair, nothing changed
-
There's an actual keyboard command for "Arming Menu". It works. Well... it's loaded with VA but I turn VA off right away, usually. Will check.
-
Thanks. That will make it much easier to take-off
-
There's a parking brake?
-
Have not checked SP yet. No comss menu (can't rearm, atc, anything) \ was mapped as normal. I re-mapped. Still nothing. Radio is on.

What is the aircraft you would like to fly on DCS World?
Mikkall replied to 6S.Duke's topic in IndiaFoxtEcho
Can't wait to see the swarm of thirsty Starfighters in Cold War zipping around the-front at 12ft looking for easy-kill choppers. And you suck for not adding the Saab 29 on that list. -
Do I even need to have Virtual Memory turned on?
Mikkall replied to Mikkall's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Well, DCS seemed to do fine without it. Flew maybe 1/2 an hour with no apparent problem. Gonna continue monitoring it and will tick it back on if have any troubles. Maxsenna... I do that 50 tab thing to haha! Not on Chrome though.... friggin Google has enough on me already. -
solved Temp Loss of Collective, Cyclic, Rudder
Mikkall replied to Mikkall's topic in Bugs and Problems
Ok then... it was Central Position Trimmer Here's the thing. First, I have no recollection of it being set that way. Second. For whatever reason, I've always operated the UH-1 like that. Hit Trimmer, return to center... as I said, this almost always happened during transition and on approach, especially when trying to come in fast. I THINK one or more of my controllers (all at least 7yrs old) making it all the way back to perfect center which explains why increasing the dead-zone in all of them lessened the problem. Also, I think each controllers "return to center" works independantly because I didn't always lose all controls... I got every single variation of what was or wasn't locked at any given time, it wasn't always all or none. Anyway, thanks for the help. It's actually hard to get used to (and MUCH easier) horsing the Huey around and not having to be on guard for the sudden loss of control. Gotta admit though, it was an awesome training aid as I always knew I needed to be REAL smooth on landing. I actually set her down a couple times with no control at all haha! -
solved Temp Loss of Collective, Cyclic, Rudder

I'm finding I'm in a similar situation.. Not ALL the controls lock ALL the time Sometimes it feels like wiggling the rudders brings them back. Sometimes cranking the (Warthog) flightstick. Sometimes the throttle. I just can't nail it down have removed power management from USB ports... changed to 2.0 ports...... sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesh Wait...what? My torque pedals are... set in settings I believe -

New USB Hub (3.0). Still locking up Have changed to 2.0 ports to see if that does anything -
solved Temp Loss of Collective, Cyclic, Rudder

It's probably worth mentioning.... flying on Enigma's last night with a buddy/wingman. At least once, his controls (also UH-1) froze at near the same exact time and duration mine did. I also became suspicious of the Throttle, however I just don't know. So when it happens, I wiggle everything a little. Seems to work, controls come back. Could just as easily be coincidence, but, with wingman reporting the same thing, I'm inclined to think hardware or lag on one end or the other. Will report anything new and after new equipment arrives. -
solved Temp Loss of Collective, Cyclic, Rudder
Mikkall replied to Mikkall's topic in Bugs and Problems
Well, so far it seems as though it's Rudder Pedals related. I flew around a bit Offline and I THINK it happened only once. Then just a few minutes ago I was on Enigma's server and everything seemed ok for about an 1/2 an hour. Then, just flying along (trimmed out thankfully) I had nothing. Wiggled the rudders and controls came back. This happened a couple times. Then the last time as landing, again... this time cycling the rudders back and forth SEEMED to work, but took longer than before. Just friggin ridiculously typical impossible to chase down computer related BS at this point (frustrated). New USB hub ordered... have my doubts. I need new rudders anyway. Not sure if I should expect Saiteks to last 5 or 6 years. So, that'll probably be next. -

Ya, this occurred to me last ni... this morning. Just now cycled the plug. We'll see. I bet this is it. It's on a good powered hub but it's been there about 3yrs... at least. Was gonna get a new one anyway. Thanks -

Will try the Virple thing. I disabled the Hot Plug thing... still happened again, but only once this time. -
