  4. Ok It's not quite what I thought. So far as I can tell, If the Delivery mode is set to ARM, nothing will shoot(A/A) whether the Shrikes are on the rails or not. I don't know if it's supposed to be that way, but it ought not be that way regardless. I'm somewhat confident that my original post was correct as when I made the post I sincerely thought it was a matter of having Shrikes on the rails... or not. BUT, that was on an MP server. I just did about 10 SP flights I set up and forgot to record anything. I'll try and send a trk later.
  5. Maybe someone can help me wrap my head around this. So, SEAD is fun. Shooting Shrikes is fun, partly just because, partly because I like to gamble with long odds. Regardless, here's the issue. If I load 4 Shrike, 4 Sidewinders & 4 Sparrows, all seems to work well (no Jammer/pod), as long as the Shrikes are still on the rails. Once the Shirkes are gone, Sidewinders refuse to fire. They'll uncage, but won't leave the rail. Sparrows I can still radar lock w/cage method... but I get the "X" when I pull the trigger for Sparrows, every time regardless of Interlocks. I can't tell if this is a bug, or the engineers of the era were sadists.
  6. It's been a good while since I tinkered with the ME. However, it seems as though this used to be straight-forward and pretty simple. I can't get even the simplest little Group activate to work. I have a Foxbat fly into a trigger zone that's set to activate a (Late Activation) Foxhound. All Air-Spawned. Once No Event All (or Part) of Coalition in Zone Group Activate Real simple. Nothing works.
  7. Ya, that's what I'm thinking too. However, I spent the last couple hours trying to LOFT 12 M-117s with a .21 interval and 1st bomb on Tgt set to 6, just to get a big spread. Tried it from a close ip (2nm) and from one further away (7nm). Tried it from a 500ft run-in, and a 1000ft run in. Shooting at an airfield with targets stretched all along the length of both sides of the runway. I've barely had a single bomb hit anywhere on the airfield. Just doesn't make sense. Seriously, just screwing around with a Immediate-O/S attempt and at least they hit the airfield (which shocked me). Speaking of unknowns... TOSS is an option on the Delivery Mode Selector. ~Nothing~ I can find in the manual. Anyone have any thoughts?
  8. JMHO... but it seems as though, at least with dumb bombs, LOFT is somewhat janky. bombs are hitting either near x2 as far-further than intended, or that much short. There's not a lot of info in the manual
  9. Just a guess, but... bomb mount? Sorry for the seemingly stupid question, but... something is inhibiting launch of my AIM-7s, and it's not the drop tank, CW switch, or pinky switch. I've been searching the manual, but all a search there does is return a host of seemingly arbitrary links, none of which have anything regarding the Aero-27... well, except the one that says it will inhibit launch. Being mentioned in the manual, one would assume it's something actually in the sim... but I've learned never to assume anything even when it's glaringly obvious. ~extremely frustrated~

  11. Short version. When carrying external fuel, set forward tanks off so only Aft tank is feeding engine. When Aft tank drops BELOW 240L, the external tanks are then empty and you can jettison (and open forward tank). Another way to say it: When AFT tank drops to 240L, a valve opens (auto) and External begins feeding Aft tank so Aft tank will show 240L until Extrnal is empty. Once AFT tank starts dropping under 240L, jettison Externals.
  12. Is it normal behavior for the DCS-Updater to perform an update check, then auto switch to the Repair function (say, if the updater noticed something off)? I typically use the your (Skatezilla) Launcher (2.0.0.37, Bld 10.20.2023) which is incredibly awesome. Today I used it to do an update check... and the above happened. Repair is happening now (not a bad thing) but I don't remember ever having the Repair function start without telling it to do so, whether using your Launcher or the DCS-Updater. Not sure if it's the Updater, Launcher, or has something to do with the disk location move. Friday, due to the update size, I had to move DCS to another drive. Started the game numerous times over the weekend but not sure if I checked for an update since then. So maybe that's something to do with it. I did change the target locations in the Launcher. Just trying to find if this is normal.

  17. At the end of the day, it's a GPS guided Area Weapon with a supposed CEP of 10ft. Really shouldn't have to counter wind regarding the weapon much as it flies to a GPS coordinate. Even then, it wouldn't take a lot of experimenting to figure out how to compensate for wind regarding the munitions with your aimpoint, and sending them to target on a corresponding azimuth and separation (for dualies) that, you'd have to do with the Aircraft as opposed to weapons settings....currently. I haven't experimented at all.... but even without wind I'm getting extremely poor weapon on target average. Always real close, almost never a good solid hit... like it's either designed that way, or mission creators make it so (I haven't a clue if they can do that or not). Now, this is Viper stuff. It's been quite a while since I played with JSOWs with the Hornet. But, a year or so ago I was blasting the pants off everything with them... from a Hornet. ?? The J(anky)SOW is a lot of fun but... ya, don't count on it.

  22. Brother, as long as online SIMULATIONS are MMOL... the "Gamer" being the vast majority will do whatever it takes to dumb it down to a quick pew-pew-kabang-die-rinse-repeat, every single time. It just is. Remember when Quake Arena reared its ugly head and completely ruined a completely awesome story-line based video game? I do. They hit on the instant gratification of "easy & fast mode" and it's been a downhill battle ever since. That being said... ED has to think about the future. And finally, when you step back and look, Enigma's pretty fair in his assessment & possible conclusions. However, I believe it would be nigh on impossible for ED's "suits" to maintain focus over the long term should they take on a IL-2 type approach.

  25. When I turn on labels, game freezes (not to return) & generates Crash Report Been an issue for a long time, however I very seldom turn labels on so just now getting around to report it Any ideas to fix this will be appreciated
