  1. JMHO but I'm thinking if the Server Host has input waypoints... there will be problems. I just verified NEW manually inputting waypoints does still work (as in for RB-15) although they do NOT match the kneeboard datacard or waypoint references at all. However, as soon as I hit T1 to fix the target area, it turns off the radar screen. Hit T0 and it comes back on with no new area marked. And I'm still trying to figure out how to clear the data I inputted from yesterday. It's stuck in there somewhere because I recognized a Target Waypoint as B2, which was either a total typo on my part, or the system jacked it up. Thing is, it shouldn't be there (kneeboard data card) at all because it happened yesterday and won't go away (I've never set B2 as a target waypoint... at leas on purpose). Weird stuff going on here.
  2. FYI, I just noticed the following. I did a lot of messing around with the RB-15F last night (err... this morning, and yes, I'm a DCS junkie) in MP. The standard method as explained by xxJohnxx worked flawlessly. However, today I could not get the earlier explained version of inputting new target coords (VIND/RUTA - Cartridge) to work at all. In fact, only once was I able to convince the mission waypoints to change by selecting a different cartridge via the kneeboard, so I took off... and then, the kneeboard waypoints show'd one thing... while my Nav/Radar show'd nothing for B1. THAT said... the HUD/B1 indicator took me to the waypoint I had set as B1 yesterday (same server). Easier to follow explanation: 1. I selected an ELINT SEARCH cartridge from the kneeboard (I haven't a clue if this was done via the ME, or it was autogenerated) and loaded it. 2. I looked at the kneeboard, which showed waypoints that were different from those that were there prior to loading the cartridge (there were none). 3. Taxied, lined up, referenced, took off (middle of runway or close to it). Here's where it got interesting 4. the Auto-switch to B1 indicated a right turn (still low, gaining speed) so I started right turn. 5. I peeked outside... raised HUD... B1 NOW at a left turn (I hadn't turned right more than 10deg) AND the kneeboard coordinates had changed back to what I assume was either the original mission set by the ME or... I guess another cartridge, I just don't know. 6. So I turned left and lined HUD up on B1. Looked at Kneeboard... B1 was (according to kneeboard) supposed to be due west of Kras-Center on the West side of Troitsky(?)) However, I was flying Southwest. 7. No indication whatsoever of a waypoint on Radar (set to 120). 8. That's when I realized the B1 I was flying to was Gelendzhik... which was the B1 I was using YESTERDAY for a Nav Fix. 9. I nosed into the runway and came here. So for a little FYI, I bounced servers a couple times yesterday and at some point, I started getting a NAV SYSTEM FAILURE warning light every time I flew... So am I correct in thinking that if the MP server host has coded in a mission... you're stuck with it? That doesn't seem quite right because I WAS able to change waypoints around for ship attacks earlier in the evening, and it worked well... to a point, then it all went to crap.
  3. Regarding the Custom Cartridge (MAL)... could someone please do a walkthrough that doesn't skip the little afterthought details that stupid people like me don't get? Please? I can't get this to work at all.

    Thanks ED!

Well... FWIW, Eagle Dynamics has for the most part... done what was once talked about (and I saw as a dream to come true). Anyone remember Janes USAF? The CD (was it before DVD?) the game came on had a presentation of sorts that talked about these big, big plans "they" had for creating a Combined Arms, Theater (if not Global) environment Sim. The concept sounded great but then some idiot bean-counter-in-a-suit somewhere decided to let EA step in and kill it all. (Not EA's worst sin but, right up there). That was in the late 90's. And here's ED doing it. LOMAC was awesome in its own right. And honestly, everything ED has done in between, I've been more than happy with. I can put up with minor technological absences and glitches for decades... as long as they keep with the progress, I'm happy. And NOT because there is no real alternative. :D

    Thanks ED!

As a baseline, I've been at this Flight Sim/Game/Whateveryouwannacallit thing for a long, long time. Done it all since about 1989. MP/SP, WW1 through Modern. There's not a Flight Sim out there I haven't at least taken a look at. So.... >>>>>>Thanks ED, for DCS World<<<<<<< No really. This thing, and you guys, ROCK! You guys have done a superb job. Nothing compares! I just finished a flight on a MP server in the Hornet that was pure joy. Simple stuff, a little bombing, a little bangin away at air targets. Pretty run of the mill, almost boring stuff really, and then I got a "Bingo". Figured I had plenty of go-juice so I went about quickly finding some targets on which to waste my remaining ammo. Found some, and as luck would have it they weren't tooooo far out of the way back to the Carrier. Got the targets and headed home, 100nm or so. At around 50nm I started looking real hard at my fuel. "Hmmmm... no sir, I don't like it". It's amazing how much faster those little numbers tick off when you're worried about it. Not being really good at figuring times and distances regarding fuel, I decided to dispense with the cool, manly Case I recovery. No, gas was getting scarce fast, so I decided to go Full Lame'O and fire straight in from way the hell and gone out back. As I approached the CV, I got that gut feeling that something wasn't right. I'm totally concentrating on getting into the right position... quickly glancing between the Carrier, the Donut, and the fuel readout (which wasn't good, nope). I had a quick look at the HSI/TACAN (set to 5) and saw something odd. The TACAN marker wasn't in front of me. At all. You know that weird confused feeling when you see something that ain't right, but should be right? I had that, hard. Then the aha moment! I suddenly realized I was lining up on the wrong boat. "You GOTTA be kidding me!" Whatever I WAS lining up on was trailing the Carrier a little ways off starboard. I don't know... 3 or 4 miles maybe? At some point between "Gotta" and "kidding", I think I saw 250 roll by on the fuel indicator. I can't really remember the sequence of distances and amounts of fuel, but I was in Big Trouble. I knew only 2 things, I had >>one chance<<, and >>I SUCK at this<<. So I had a climb a bit and wiggle the little Hornet over to a this-will-have-to-do spot. Got lined up best I could and TRIED to get things somewhere in the same universe as "good enough" and went for it! I do keenly remember chancing a quick look at my fuel somewhere between 300ft and 200ft alt (err, or so) and it was at a cool "50". Ho-Lee-$$$$. I totally expected everything to go dark, then black any second. But, :) I hit the deck! A little early but I hit it and even caught a wire (I did NOT care which one). Then, as a started to ram the throttles forward, I ran outta gas BEFORE the wire stopped me. THAT was Awesome Awesome Awesome Awesome! Thanks ED. You're on it! :pilotfly:
  6. Been messing with the Aim-7 / Radar all day.... if it's not broke, it's just really, really bad. :pilotfly:
  7. HA! Agreed! I think that every time I watch my private pilot buddies fly off into the sunset.:pilotfly:
  8. THIS SHOULD NOT BE SO HARD TO FIND ED!
  9. Ya, but that Intellisense thing is pretty dang helpful when you're an idiot.:pilotfly:
  10. Awesome, thanks. It wasn't loading... although I kinda figured that. So, I tried the straight moose.lua downloaded from the releases tab on Github. That worked, sheesh. But why? Had been using the one from the source zip (as in the setup demonstration vid), as well as the one from the master. I don't get it why they would not work. The most confusing issue I was having was "sometimes" the others worked and sometimes not... I never could nail anything down with all the inconsistency. Still worried I have something wrong on the LDT side of things.
  11. A year+ later, still a regular issue. It's plugged in, it's unplugged.... it's plugged in, it's unplugged...
  12. First off... I'm a MOOSE for Dummies subscriber, Dummie being the key word. Really, all this scripting is new to me, but hey why not. So, for a week or two, I've had nothing, NOTHING but trouble getting this to work. Went through all the setup vids and example stuff step by step (numerous times). Every now and then it would work, like the AI_A2A_GCICAP demonstration mission, sort of (on 2.2... not so much 1.5.) In fact, about the only time anything ever ran without an error, is when I loaded everythingl (.miz / .lua) from the MOOSE_MISSIONS repository So, having deleted and reinstalled all the latest stuff (LDT 1.4.1) and MOOSE 2.2.6/Moose_Missions, and having religiously followed all the setup vids... here's what happens. I slowly go through setup and build the simple Spawn mission (like in the vid). I hit "Fly" to run the mission and get two errors... the one below and another talking about SPAWN being a nil value. Then the mission starts (a Heli is supposed to spawn and fly around and land) nothing... nothing happens. Why is EVENT and SPAWN "nil values"? [string 'C:\Users\xxx\AppData\Local\Temp\/DCS~mis000000920']:4: attempt to index 'EVENT' (a nil value) slack traceback: [C]: ? [string 'C:\users\xxx\AppData\Local\Temp\DCS\/~mis000000920']:4: in main chunk AM I screwing something simple here? I mean, this is not a huge complicated script.
  13. Too late. What I did worked. We're good. What's with all the giant drops in the Sea? lol Awesome stuff!
  14. So, in a round about sorta way.... you're saying there's actually a purpose to those cards? Like, people do stuff with them and everything? :pilotfly:
  15. Yeah... well, I didn't have an OpenBeta. Honest, I thought I'd been running OB for quite awhile. I guess some time ago I dumped my OB and went to Stable (talking 1.5 here). That is unless the updater has a magic way of updating from OB to Stable without stupid people like me noticing. Anyway, a couple days ago, naturally, nothing worked due to my 1.5 Stable version (I didn't hear about @openbeta till it was too late). I wasn't worried about it because patience is a virtue... Grandpappy said so. Which brings me back to today. I have kinda slow ADSL so, nothing happens fast. I mean, they say 12mb down, but yeah-right, right? It's more like, 1mb. Then there's the problem with doing it torrent style... I believe my fine hickbilly ISP is either throttling me, or trying to annoy me to the point I just give up as it dumps me totally offline about every 2 or 3 minutes (torrent). If I do the HTTP version, that seems somewhat stable, but (get this) HTTP makes it a bigger download, like 5GB bigger. Please don't ask why, or tell me that's normal... I'll only feel obligated to dye my hair blonde. So what's happening right now is, I'm 7GB into a 14GB download (HTTP method). I had 1.5 Stable and 2.2Alpha already. I know when I started the DL'r (from the DCS Home Page) it got busy grabbing files from 1.5Stable--that's when I went and had lunch. I don't know if it grabbed from 2.2 or not. I kinda doubt it but hey, I think someone said it might, or would or something, who knows as I'm past caring at this point, I've moved on. At this point, I'm only concerned that after my 10hr+ download I'll find it's borked and have to start over. That would mean 2 MORE days of waiting because I don't dare tell the wife she can't be hogging my bandwidth surfing ButtNovel while I download my fantasy hero generator program (again). Not so much that she minds, it's more because even using the HTTP DL method, connecting to Twittface (or anything else) on her computer is risking a nice disconnect from the internet... resulting in yours truly being on the receiving end of much wailing and gnashing of teeth. You know, because it's my fault someone broke the internets. Thanks Fingers crossed Mikkall
  16. So you're saying the update to 2.5OpbenBeta from 1.5Stable wouldn't work (and I guess still won't) but now the installer you download from the Webpage "Download" button will install 2.5OpenBeta fresh AND use files from 1.5Stable AND OpenAlpha. Am I getting that right? I mean... it's clear as mud
  17. Ok How about ya'll throw the dumber of us out there a proverbial bone. Here's what I knew a few days ago. 1) Ya gotta have 1.5 OPENBETA to "update" to 2.5. 2) Won't work with 1.5 Stable 3) Won't work with OpenAlpha 4) Release version in 2 weeks So, I sit and calmly wait. It's not like I'm not used to it... no big deal. TODAY, and with much happiness and surprise I see what ~appears~ to be a fresh install method for 2.5OpenBeta plastered all over the DCS Home Page. So I hit the web page download button and then run the happy little installer. --and it immediately starts copying stuff from my STABLE version of 1.5-- Is this anywhere close to being a complete and total bust? I mean, what the heck, are you guys trying to give me a stroke?
  18. The AAA at Gudata is just fine. Works REALLY well. I'm new to all this (Ok, I bought LoMac when it came out and have had it all since, but never really MP'd much) and had no idea there was AAA there. Hey I was just doing a friendly fly-by :) I would add, I started doing MP regularly a little over a month ago. So far, this server has been absolutely the best I've been on. Seems like pretty decent people there and it appears to people make an effort to keep it balanced. AND there were people ACTUALLY USING SRS to coordinate on the ground and in the air. Thanks for the cool server.
  19. ....stupid 18's. They ruined EVERYTHING! ;)
  20. Well, for starters.... if she's not worried why YOU aren't returning calls, you're doing it wrong. :pilotfly:
  21. I'm using Win10. For the most part... I'm good with it. One thing for certain though, I don't think I experienced a BSOD from XP through the end of my use of Win7 a year ago or so. Now, not so much. How does MS go about taking a perfectly good product all the way to jacked up crap, so fluidly? I notice WIn7 is by far the most popular in this vote. Would someone care to tell me why, or what advantages there are to 7 currently.
  22. This must be it!! Thanks, I'll give it a try. :pilotfly:
  23. Apologies in advance if this has been covered. I can't seem to find a straight answer. Is there some sort of bug that causes changes to weapons profiles NOT to save? I typically try and set LGB's to CCRP (from CCIP), set Autolase ON with 8sec LS time. It ~normally~ takes half a doesn't attempts to get it to stick, if it ever does. I got to the Main profile page... select weapon, change to CCRP-Save-repeat to change set-auto lase on-8sec LS time-Save. Go back and check, back to CCIP no autolase, no LS time. MANY different combinations of when I choose to hit Save, or whether or not making changes by selecting the weapon then viewing profile or doing it from the main profile page... seems there no rhyme or reason to it, just dumb luck or no luck at all.
  24. Ya, ok... found it. Jittery slider on the thrott. Thing is practically brand new, didn't think that would be a problem. Fixed by setting deadzone.
  25. I'm having an issue with the throttle dropping off without input. Whether I'm sitting on the ground or flying along, I'll hear the engine spool down and get a low-rpm warning with no input from me. Obvious quick fix is I (Page-up) key the throttle back up. Within a few minutes it will happen again, every time I fly the thing. Using TM Warthog HOTAS and I've checked to see if there's something else mapped. There is not. Am I doing something wrong with the flying/systems management, or is there some kind of glitch happening? Thanks in advance for any help.
