  1. Well, such marketing strategies (seeding, viral marketingt etc) undeniably exist and are on the rise since plattforms like Amazon introduced customer reviews to the mainstream. It's hard to tell which product receives this kind of treatment (obviously negative reviews can also be the result undercover marketing) and it can indeed lead to paranoid reactions but note that it's not necessarily unfounded.
  2. As much as I want to try it ASAP, I think it's wise to wait for more reports to drop in. There seems to be a lot of viral marketing going on and with the whole OFP vs ARMA-fanboyism it's even harder to tell anything from the handfull of user reviews so far. The German magazine PCGames had to pull their review because ARMA's publisher ordered them to hold it back until release day. It contains lots of criticism about the the game being a very buggy mess so far.
  3. Dude, you've spent 30$ on printing the (non-extended) manual and yet expect it to be included in the total price of 50$ for the game? What do you think it costs to produce the sim itself? Especially considering the very limited target audience of hardcore simmers. I understand such demands for mainstream games that usually come with a manual of around 40-50 pages but in this case this strikes me as plain rediculous.
  4. I didn't get a confirmation either but I guess that's nothing to worry about in this case. I agree that this shop could use some transprarency though.
  5. Pretty strange story. Depression or something like that seems like a good guess but nonetheless, if I where you (and live in Germany), I'd contact police about a possible fraud.
  6. The guy ("karakurt4"?) who made the black & white drawings is very talented!
  7. Looks good and I wish my X52 Pro would have a stronger spring but I'd be afraid that the plastic casing isn't strong enough in the long run.
  8. Same here, I rather pay the additional 5€ than having to wait for who knows how long.
  9. On a more serious note: has anybody here received the printed manual already? If so, where from?
  10. That's also how it was listed on Amazon.de. They've just canceled my order today because the item is unavailable. I guess we simply have to wait a couple of days longer. For another shop check http://www.simw.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=dsp_product_details&pid=2157 .
  11. Yep, that's what I thought. I myself would prefer a German version but I don't wanna wait much longer so I'm going for the English manual and I doubt, that I will buy another one after that. I guess many people here see it this way but then again it is very likely that DCS Black Shark will be have a very long product life so that in the future there will be many customers who are likely to go for a available version in their native language because they wouldn't have to wait like us.
  12. Tornado sounds like a good idea.
  13. I guess Distiler is asking for the extended version, which is not included.
  14. Ok, thanks for the clarification. I guess the English version has to suffice then.
  15. What about Europe? Especially Amazon Germany. And are there any news about a localized German version of the manual?
  16. That looks like some amazing stuff.
  17. Awesome nonetheless! Thank you very much for the info, bengo.
  18. I always wonder why admins don't make more backups. That should be pretty much the most important rule for anybody working with anything in IT - especially when it's something online.
  19. Hello there! Does anybody know when and where the printed manual will be available? I am quite desperately waiting for it because I don't want to waste ink on the pdf-version and reading on the monitor is really tiresome. It's supposed to come out this month, right?
