  1. I used to love Delta Force 1-3 (3 mostly for it's Multiplayer) but every DF after that was just a huge disappointment for me. Joint Operations was very good though. Oh, and I had great fun with Comanche as well. The older Novalogic-stuff is actually an integral part of my gaming history, now that I think about it...
  2. Apart from the fact that there were no traces of an explosion whatsoever on the debris, you'd think that if it was a terroristic attack, there would be some claim of responsibilty by now. There's still this Sunday Herald-story about two of the passengers though: Key figures in global battle against illegal arms trade lost in Air France crash
  3. I can't help you but wanted to say that the pit looks very good!
  4. They have 17 days left to find the black box, after that it will stop sending its sonar signal.
  5. It's 120 Intel C2Ds. I guess there's plenty of room for optimizations left so that the requirements could be significantly lowered - if they wanted to.
  6. Yeah, my bad.
  7. Wow, their version of 3D Studio MAX looks pretty advanced already. Is that Windows 45?
  8. This simulation can't feature everything either - you'd need the Matrix to do that. Our world is incredibly complex and right now it's not even possible to create realistic AI. There's still so much room for simulations...
  9. Personally, I have mixed experiences with Logitech-devices. I owned legendary Logi-mice (my current MX518 refresh is just "ok"), two so-so keyboards, two crappy gamepads and one really bad joystick. I also have a Momo Racing Wheel and am happy with it. If there is anything I have learned about Logitech, than it's that their products come in a broad range of quality levels and that the price is not necessarily a good indicator for it.

  11. This article features a working video-link: http://kotaku.com/5286561/this-flight-sim-needs-120-graphics-cards-just-to-get-off-the-ground
  12. :wassat: May I ask why they had to replace your first G25 then?
  13. The pictures have Russian labels (apart from the ABRIS) but the text has the English translations in brackets right next to it. Personally I don't see a problem with this system.
  14. I've seen the boxes in many German stores already, even in big super market chains.
  15. Yeah, I'd definately wait for more customer reports and reviews.
  16. For me it's just the other way round... Had it for three years but after some months the black coating on the keys slowly began to rub off. Because I was lazy I didn't try to get a replacement (last month I read, that this was a known issue with the first edition and that they were actually replacing them in several cases). The volume dial still worked fine and together with the other media-buttons, it was my favorite feature of the G15 as my PC also functions as my Media Center. I rarely used the programmable G-keys though and when I did, I never needed them all. The display was ok (showed title and position of tracks in WinAmp for example) but nothing really important either. Two weeks ago it began to behave weird and some keys sporadically showed no effect when pressed. I checked if it was because of loose connections or dirt but it wasn't. I don't think it was a mechanical failure but it quickly drove me insane, so last week I dusted off my good old Cherry G81 and immediatley enjoyed the differences in size and pressure point. I don't miss my G15.
  17. The labels can be switched on in DCS as additional help, a real BS-pilot doesn't have this option because there's no system that could regognize targets. Your flight members (such as the wingman) can detect targets depending on their skill level. If they have "excellent" skills, they can detect targets over a distance of 8km, with "high" skills that's reduced to 6km and with "average" skills it's only 4km. To assign the "Recon"-oder you have to use the radio commands menu. If they detect something, they'll pass it to you through the data link. (At least that's what's written in the handbook ;) )
  18. Too bad that the stream is UK-only.
  19. Yes, I can already see conspiracy buffs coming up with theories envolving space weapons and stuff like that - Golden Eye-style, you know.
  20. So, any news or updates about that flux capacitator yet? :geek:
  21. I can't weigh mine because I have no scale but they said it's about 0.8 kg. I think that's about right.
  22. What puzzles me is that the black boxes transmit their signals for 30 days only. Shouldn't it be possible to extend that with modern accumulators? It sure is a strong sonar signal, that consumes plenty of energy but still... Edit: Here's an interesting article about how they work, btw..
  23. But does it change the fact that this is a very favourable review of DCS BS by a person who knows how it feels to fly in real combat situations? It may not go into great detail but it's a first class recommendation, which may help to get more people into flying it. If it helps him to sell more of his books (which seem to be quite good), good for him - where's the problem?
  24. *cough* This is the third thread about the new Logitech-HOTAS... :smilewink: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=42233 http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=42230
