  1. I so want one of these... Super Cub Pilot Needs Mere Feet to Take Off [Article + Video] http://www.wired.com/autopia/2011/05/video-young-pilot-prepares-for-stol-competitionvideo-young-pilot-prepares-for-stol-competition/
  2. Pretty sure that they did it and I think I even read it in some article. The fact that they didn't destroy the tail speaks volumes about how hasty they left before the Pakistanian army moved in.
  3. I do find Osama's strategic choice of location interesting. Here's an article about it, even containing a brief look into his compound. http://www.wired.com/dangerroom/2011/05/video-inside-bin-ladens-drone-proof-compound/
  4. That's what I thought - especially with the ridiculous number of doppelgängers in mind that people like Saddam Hussein operated.
  5. At the moment it's not clear if it's still readable though. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-13255673
  6. Apperently an A-10 crashed today near a German village in the Eifel. The pilot survived but got injured during the ejection. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20110401/ap_on_re_eu/eu_germany_us_military_crash_2
  7. Not quite sure where to post this... My dream flight simulator home-setup is actually in a US-Navy base
  8. Will my system be able to run it properly? Is it comparable to Black Shark in regard of performance? Win XP SP3 Intel C2D E6800 with 2Gb DDR2 RAM Nvidia 8800 GTS 640mb

  11. I like how the tutorial-information in Falcon 4.0's (original) handbook were presented.
  12. I stumbled upon an article on a thing called Article on a project called Moving Axis AirCraft Simulator (MAACS), which is looking quite nice so I want to share the link with the forum: http://kotaku.com/5694915/you-too-can-play-video-games-in-a-virtual-aircraft-sitting-in-your-driveway
  13. This situation is really sad. It all reminds me very much of what happened with Far Cry 2: overambitous developers promising the fans more than they can deliver, then the final game turns out to be decent (albeit unnecessarily flawed) but people are so angry about the broken promises that the common reception turns generally negative and sequels become very unlikely. I like both games, because they are pretty much the only modern tactical shooters that gave me that (early) Delta Force-vibe again. Battlefield 2 is getting old, Crysis was too unoptimized and undecided between it's bad Hollywood-story and freeroaming. The later R6- and GRAW-iterations were not my cup of tea either, so there goes the genre down the drain. I blame stupid dev-decisions and overreacting fans (this is not Activision releasing MW2, alright) - or maybe it's just that my taste in tactical shooters is too special, I dunno. Maybe BF: Bad Company 2 turns out as a game I can like, we'll see.
  14. Yeah, the Beluga reminds me of an hydrocephalic dolphin. The Horten is amazing and remionds me of a Batwing.
  15. I like the look of Harriers - actually better than the Eurofighters, which are a bit boring, in my opinion.
  16. Let me repeat: I have not seen many bugs in the SP and of those I have, none was showstopping. There's a shitload of other contemporay releases that were far more buggy then DR. As has already been repeatedly said by me and others, Dragon Rising is not a sim, it is a tactical shooter with some semi-realistic elements. I understand that people are being angry about the developers because apparently they have promised much more than they delivered - I haven't paid their announcements much attention but if I would feel being lied to, I'd be angry too. Nonetheless, judged on it's own, for what it is, I find it a really enjoyable game and believe it or not, my standards aren't low and I have quite some experience with FPS-games under my belt. Yes, it has its share of flaws but just because it's not a game to your flavor, you shouldn't belittle it or those who like playing this game.

    MW2

Boycotting! Main reasons being the price hike and all the arrogance towards PC-gamers. Also a bit disgusted by their decision to include the controversial airport level (I am not one to complain about gory scenes or violence in media in general but being part of a massacre on civilians and the way it's done seems very wrong to me). Also trying to avoid buying any other Activision game full price in an honest attempt to not support Mr. Kotick. Dragon Age and Stalker: Call of Pripyat will keep me busy anyway.
  19. Here's a change-log for Patch #2: http://www.gamestar.de/news/pc/sport/rennspiel/2310313/need_for_speed_shift_p2.html Seems like there won't be native TrackIR -support anytime soon.
  20. There's a PC-Patch coming out tomorrow: http://community.codemasters.com/forum/showthread.php?t=394523 Haven't seen many bugs in SP myself.
  21. Simulated desktops, huh? Harsh times, when we are even running out of wood... On a more serious note: I hope they'll release some more substantial informations and some photos soon.
