Good one!
-
AFAIK, they began shipping on May 26th so if you are living outside the UK I don't think you need to be alarmed (yet).
-
Mine died last week, it was the original version (not the refresh) and it worked for three years but I regreted buying it much earlier because the coating of the keys began to vanish after a few month, making them unrecognizable and ugly. Two weeks ago it started to go nuts and specific keys (like the space bar) stopped working sporadically. Not at all the kind of quality I expected when I bought it.

Actually they say it is possible that the pilots tried to do just that. The discrepancy between their last known location and the debris seems to indicate it, if I understand it correctly.
-
Looks nice, gotta wait till my X52 Pro dies a natural death though. Lots of time for other people to test it for me first... :joystick:

They now say the automatic failure report that has been mentioned earlier read that all systems were offline for full three minutes before the message was sent.

Another great review by someone who should know. Congrats!
-
That sounds quite likely.
-
Yes, it is but the reason I mentioned it, is because DW actually is pretty complex and it's also the only simulation of modern submarines (Silent Hunter takes place during WW2), which makes it a reference title.

Helmet-mounted sight - When/how often do you use it?
-fox- replied to Jack McCoy's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Yeah, I also began to use it all the time because it's such a quick way to move the Shkval. -
Yes, I can second that. Mine was just slightly bent (nothing like in this pictures, fortunately) but a box would definately be more appropriate for this manual.

Seems like the flight sent out a signal about some electronic failures a while (3 hours or so) before it disappeared from radar. A lightning as main cause seems very unlikely and some people are speculating that this guess was simply based on a mistranslation. Sadly it looks very bad for the people on this plane now.

Something like this? (Note that I don't know if they are any good because I haven't tried them.) http://shop.rightthing.nl/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=8&products_id=65&language=en Or this? http://www.audio-discounters.com/buttkicker-lfe.html

Well, it's not quite the same fidelity and I don't know if you mean sims in general or only combat flight sims but of course there's MS Flight Simulator and X-Plane, GTR 2 (racing car simulation), Dangerous Waters and Silent Hunter 3+4 (submarine sims). On a different note: you haven't actually missed anything since you should still be able to play those old sims you've mentioned. May require a bit of search and maybe the help of an emulator software but it's possible.

Uh... fourthed (?). Quadrupled!

Hurray! My copy of the manual arrived today, which is especially awesome because Monday is holiday in Germany. The manual looks great, btw..

I imported mine from the Netherlands ( rightthing.nl ) because all in all it was significantly cheaper than any offer I could find in Germany or elsewhere.

Actually only two (!) of the currently 15 customer reviews on amazon.de have been written after May 28th - one rated it 2 stars and the other guy rated it 1 star.

There's a new episode of GameStar TV dedicated to ArmA 2 (in German again): http://www.gamestar.de/index.cfm?pid=10&pk=12297 Sounds really bad. They constantly curse at the AI, the bugs, the interface, the voice acting, the physics and missing animations for NPCs and weapons. I don't fully trust them when it comes to top-ratings for the hype of the month but when all three major German magazines write that it's a full blown desaster, I tend to believe it.

"Getting the show stoppers sorted" has nothing to do with support, it's the bare minimum that must be adressed if they don't want to get sued for not delivering a working commercial product. The need for an over the top-amount of fixes shouldn't count as achievement. Sure, games of this scope and with an open world approach are extremely hard to beta test and there will always be some bugs but this is quite unacceptable - especially since they knew about the unfinished state of their product before it hit the sstore and yet they haven't delayed it. It's quite likely the publisher who's to blame for it but that doesn't really matter to the customers who paid 50$ for this mess.
-
There's 9-page thread about ArmA 2 already: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=40558 If you have tried it yet, a little report would be great.
-
Open world bug tracking - it's a feature.

Ich spreche zwar nicht aus Erfahrung aber du brauchst Gameport-kompatible Pedale. Siehe auch hier: http://forums.frugalsworld.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=133514

For those who understand German: http://www.pcgames.de/aid,685486/ArmA-2-PC-Games-testet-die-Militaer-Simulation-Update/PC/News/ (includes a video) http://www.gamestar.de/specials/spiele/1956417/arma_2.html http://www.pcaction.de/ArmA-2-Unser-Review-des-bugverseuchten-Armed-Assault-2/Tests/article/view/1294/ All three magazines report of many minor and major bugs in the German retail version of ArmA 2 - despite a hastily applied beta-patch (1.01 is scheduled for next week). The international version is likely to include these fixes already due to the premature release (aka 'enhanced open beta-testing') of some localized versions beforehand.

Yeah, a bundle would have been nice but if that means having to wait significantly longer for the release of the actual sim (because they have to work out all the print and distribution related stuff first), I guess most people are fine with the .pdf, right? And then there's also the increasingly important argument about downloadable versions.
