  1. 'Mysterious Tubular Clouds Defy Explanation' It's an article I found won 'Wired'. Any Ideas what could cause such clouds?
  2. Note that this is for the A10A. The rapidshare-link came from this site, btw.. Edit: Sorry, Triggerhappy, I probably edited it in after you have read my post. Bad habit of mine...
  3. May have something to do with this files not being direct download-links although they appear to be. Right-click -> "Save target as" doesn't work either if you havent left clicked them first. Maybe that's the reason why the archives were so small and didn't work.
  4. Use WinRAR, put all the parts (A10 Manual.part1, etc...) in the same folder and extract the first part (for example: right-click on it, choose 'Extract here'). Edit: Tried it myself but it seems like the archives are incomplete or damaged. Seemed a bit small anyway. The A-10A_Flight_Manual.pdf weighs in at a whoppin 110 MB - you can find it here, btw: http://rapidshare.de/files/47314510/A-10A_Flight_Manual.pdf.html
  6. Wow! Cool! Thanks! (Duh!)
  7. "Meet a platoon of Psychonauts at the Whispering Rocks Camp and escort them to their extraction point at Lake Oblongata. Intelligence reports heavy enemy activities in this area and you are ordered to support them in their battle against the Censors. And always remember, comrade, there are no three headed monkeys!" - Sotnik Purple Tentacle
  8. If they want to, why not? I believe it's better to offer users as much freedom of choice as possible, as long as it is not critical for storytelling or overly complex. I don't think this is the case here. Obviously people are finding and using workarounds anyway.
  9. Thanks for the links. Looking better and better to me but I gotta add that I was not a huge fan of the original OFP and ARMA and more into semi-tactical FPSs like BF2.
  10. Thanks for the (pretty heavyweight) surprise, ED!
  11. [Wired] Chinese Farmer Builds His Own Flying Machine :pilotfly::blink:
  12. Even with this free version available, I'd still buy the printed version of the manual if I hadn't already. I am getting tired of reading long articles on my TFT so having it in paper form and not having to alt-tab out of the game all the time is still worth the price, IMO. Considering the costs of printing it yourself it's pretty fair.
  13. Very cool, indeed.
  14. This is getting funny. The first news that angered me was this: Activision raises the retail prices for the PC versions of Modern Warfare 2: 55 GBP / 60$ / 60€ ...and today this came up: No Special Edition for PC players I actually feel offended by the tactics Activision and other parts of the industry are utilizing against PC gamers (still their own customers) while at the same time they are arguing about rampant piracy. Yeah, right... force ridiculously intrusive and annoying DRM-mechanisms on your customers, take away the only (extremely hyped) feature pirates will never be able to deliver and then complain about bad sales because of piracy... Unbelievable. I didn't want to buy that edition anyway but the way they are treating their original fanbase is enough for me to not buy it retail and wait for this game to become a budget title or even for a used copy. What do you think?
  15. I found the producer notes for Black Shark to be very informative (although it would be usefull if the mouse arrow and the view would point at the elements when they are mentioned in the voice over). Doesn't need fancy drill instructor-stuff...
  16. Gotta love this: "vulnerability to rain"...
  17. What if someone hacks into their systems or their copy of Windows BSODs during Operation Hiroshima? "Wargames" all over again.
  18. The little boy-part in me loves this kind of gadgetry but I won't shell out so much money for a thing I probably wouldn't even openly display in my flat bcause I'd feel a little too childish. I am looking forward to CoD:MW2 but the series really is like an interactive movie or a rollercoaster ride and not even remotely a sim or even a tactic shooter. Just very well executed blockbuster entertainment.
  19. If I ever see Keanu Reeves climbing out of an UFO that has just landed in front of me, I know that the Matrix is real and I'd ask him to sell me one of those red pills. Ironically some people do it the other way round: they take a pill and see Keanu Reeves climbing out of his UFO... What a strange world this is...
  20. I don't believe it until I see an UFO landing with my own eyes and even then I need to see if the pilot actually is an alien or if it's just a human-made drone.
  21. Looks like a place I'd want to visit (if it wasn't on another continent...)!
  22. Well, as you write: it's not the retail version that has been reviewed which lowers the use of this review to that of a preview. Especially the overall quality with it's tolerances could change significantly when it goes into mass production.
  23. Not much time left for Air France Flight 447, it's been over a month already, which means that the black box is about to run out of electrical power very soon.
