  1. In the bottom part of the world QFE is used by the military for air displays only. In fact it is commonly incorporated into a "pre" and "post display" checklist, and some display directors will request a readback. Youtube vids suggest that its used by US military for displays also.
  2. Yeah there is a nice looking mod Blaze made. Haven't tried it myself, but looks tip top. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=69995
  3. In this time! Avail any time this week if you want to dry run the server also.
  4. I get this sometimes, I have always assumed that the JTAC has been KIA.
  5. Errr yeah true. Once you select the airfield the elevation comes up with the airfield data.
  6. Sure is
  7. Weird, never heard them called that.
  8. What exactly do you mean by Q calls? Do you mean QNH/QFE? If so check the thread a couple down, altimeter settings are still given in QFE. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=75040
  9. You can flick your IFCC switch to test and chose ground speed to be displayed via the menu system, or I believe you can do it through the POS INFO page on the CDU. This uses the EGI calculated ground speed rather than the pitot static system. Obviously using ground speed instead of IAS has its traps, so think about the wind and use the AoA primarily when on approach. Its better than nothing though.
  10. No prob Cib. You've solved over 4000 issues for people Nate its OK to let the odd one go. :smilewink:
  11. I just had a quick look mate. It is because you are selecting your CDU on your right MFD before you make the mark point. When you do this the TAD becomes SOI and you are creating a mark point where your TAD cursor is rather than your TGP point. Leave TGP as SOI and try then it will work fine.
  12. I didnt see any mention of the damage model, but it feels like it has been worked on? I had two failures today that were not the typical "MFD and CADC" failure that I normally see after being shot up. One was an engine partial power that manifested into a hydraulic issue that I couldnt solve before I had to punch out, and another was a serious engine issue that turned into a complete engine failure after some time. Has the system damage model been worked or has it always been this way, and its just something I have never seen? Great stuff either way!
  13. Contact them for what? Using the other menu, and directing other flights around is a complicated part of the ME which requires use of triggers. You have to manually put all radio items in yourself using the "add radio item" and "remove radio item" triggers. Have a look in the ME forum, there is some great info there. The other menu will only work if the mission designer has put it in.
  14. Thats the one I had seen, thanks Tommy. EDIT: Get a 404 error when I try and get the A5 version plainsight did? EDIT again: found the revised version: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/25115334/Threat%20guide4.pdf
  15. Perfect, thanks
  16. Hi guys, hate to ask, but have searched and searched and can't find it. I am sure someone has made a 'cheat sheet' table of range/ceilings of DCS surface threats? Anyone familiar with this, and if so where can I find it? I am aware of the DCS Wiki threat page, but I am after a printable table. Cheers
  17. How did it all go? How many people got on in the end? Mission complete?
  18. Hi guys I am def out. Bugga. Have fun.
  19. Nice Moa, looks great.
  20. Oh FFS I've just been told my mother in law is coming up on Thursday. Why does karma punish me, I dont get it. Wife has said she'll try and take her shopping (seeing I threw my toys). I am only a possible at this stage.... Mission sounds great Moa
  21. Fantastic to hear Moa! Does the 77th have an Ozzy server as well Kiwispit? The only 77th server I have seen I ping quite high on. Same applies for the 74th unfortunately. Don't know about the rest of you guys, but if Moa put up a server on Thursday nights I would be wrapped!
  22. Looks like it is very tight, cant reply to your PM or your topic...
  23. Sweet as. Signed up to the KiwiSim forums, looking forward to getting into it. EDIT: hmm well I thought I posted something over there, but the topic didnt show. Perhaps I am too new to start topics?
  24. G'day fellas, A mate and I fly A-10C on a very casual basis a couple of times a week. We dont have a dedicated server, but his PC seems to have no probs with 2 people and his connection is pretty quick (Auckland based). We use TS and TARS. Just wondering if any other Kiwis out there are hosting games or are keen to hook up for some missions. I have seen Hotdog from SC hosting a couple of times, but no others. Any out there?
