  1. This will ruffle some feathers but hey its what I think. I have a TM Warthog and bought it to replace an X52 pro. While the warthog is a great piece of kit, in my opinion is isn't worth 500 bucks, especially considering the amount of problems the unit has. My first unit stick was a dud also. The joystick looks and feels great, but the throttle still feels like a plastic toy to me, something I really didn't expect after reading what people wrote and paying what TM was asking. While I have never handled a real warthog HOTAS I have enough experience to feel pretty confident that this throttle, while similar, would not feel like the real thing. Luckily I paid for my TM with winnings from my poker account which makes it feel a little less disappointing, however in my opinion the warthog needs to be $150 cheaper. The value you get from an X52 is far better IMO. I would reccomend waiting until you have seen one in the flesh or waiting 'till it reaches a more reasonable price and enjoying your X52 in the meantime. Now I'll hide while I get slammed by the other TM owners.
  2. Putting it in a hypobaric chamber deadman? WOW this is getting extreme! :smilewink:
  3. LOL here we go again...!
  4. Yeah unfortunately your head is wayyyy out of the cockpit though. Using binos would sap 10x more SA than the TGP IMO. Not to mention, unless they are gyro stabilized they are an absolute bitch to use airborne. If their is any evidense that binos are still carried in the C then yeah why not, otherwise -1 on binos from me.
  5. Airspeed is life, what speed are you entering them at?
  6. Are you after a track of anything specifically.
  7. Also make sure you complete the radio steps 'additional info/talk on' and 'read back'
  8. Hey slamraam, any chance of a HD upload to megaupload or the like so we can keep a copy?
  9. Incredible job, absolutely fantastic video.
  10. Hey Jinj- something u may/maynot know (something I missed on my first go), if you prem disconnect you have to press the NWS button to cycle the system otherwise you cant make a successive contact (light will cycle from disconnect to ready).
  11. I think he means the trick where by you raise the gear handle on the takeoff roll while still rolling, and let the WoW switch raise the gear as soon as you get airborne. Pretty oldschool cowboy trick.
  12. Havent seen it promised for any patch. Just on the wish list http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=69462&page=1 http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=71515 It certainly would be useful. I have pedals, even that is annoying, let along having to use keyboard.... I think some people use active pause?
  13. I write the coords down, but use data. If data doesnt work, or the JTAC is not data capable, I have the coords and plug them in. Plugging coords saps SA and time on what could be a time sensitive target. I do believe in being prepared, but IMO plugging coords is a waste of time if link is sweet.
  14. Me also. I use paddle as a shift for zoom (I dont know how people survive without zoom), and "joytokey" to map my mic switch to TARS as per zero mass's post http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1080006&postcount=132 I found TARGET a nightmare. Crashed constantly.
  15. BMS should be on the list. I vote BMS
  16. Concur, from my experience, jets with low sweep angle, you plant the nose wheel and then push full nose forward. This provides drag braking from the elevator. Holding off the nose wheel with an aircraft with a low swept wing decreases the braking effectiveness.
  17. Are you sure method 1 works? I didnt think u could make a random position SPI? I thought you actually had to hook something.
  18. Well hopefully when the compatibility patch comes out we can use a copy of BS to host.
  19. x86 is 32 bit. All the programs in your "program files (x86)" folder are 32. All the programs in your regular folder are 64.
  20. Yep, it is. Nice one Shnider. Your turn. Vanveken, you have to answer correctly before you post a new one.
  21. Uploaded with ImageShack.us
  22. Every aircraft I have flown produced warnings and master cautions on shutdowns. I dont have an intimate knowledge of the a-10 but I would think this is fairly normal?
  23. I would think so also. You dont want a system that can control flight controls going haywire when u are in the flare.
