  2. Yawing during takeoff with a crosswind is a function of uneven friction between the main landing gear. Because the wind is lifting one wing up it puts less friction on the upwind wheel and more friction on the downwind wheel. This causes you to yaw towards the wheel of most friction (the direction the wind is travelling). As mentioned above, the way to combat this is to put in to wind stick (aileron) which balances the friction between the wheels and allows you to maintain better directional control.
  3. MS Combat Flight Sim. Much time wasted on that game. A few times I remember hearing the birds chirping and thinking &%$! I better get to bed.
  4. Links dont seem to work for me? EDIT: I remember this one, think there is some discussion on it here. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=62019 Cheers
  5. Concur. New looks much better to me.
  6. I have had the x52 pro and WH. If you have money to burn go WH, but there is no way in hell the price difference justifies the performance difference. While the WH is nice, you aren't missing much if you get the x52 pro.

  8. The APU does provide power to the ignitors which start the engines though. This seems a little strange. Perhaps your engine generators weren't on. From the bus diagram in the manual, it appears that if either engine driven generator is operating it will power the ignitors. If the engine sits on starter RPM like you describe its probably not getting either fuel or fire.
  9. Sweet man. If that's the case check out the rest of Paulrkiiis guides then (if you havent already), they all stem from real SOPs. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=77053
  10. Not sure what checklists you are refereing to but check out Paulrkiiis checklists. The APU is secured well after engine start in these, (which are based on real A-10C checklists). http://forums.eagle.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=54622&stc=1&d=1312206111 I know very little about the A-10, however in aircraft types I am familiar with the APU is generally one of the last things to be secured before taxi as it minimises bus power transfers while other equipment is running BITs and being powered up. Having a quick look at the electrical diagram in the manual supplements on page 658, it suggests that some of the DC buses are powered when the APU is on (right DC Bus) even when the engine driven generators are online. So if you secure the APU then power to this bus will be transferred from the APU to the right engine causing a momentary spike . This is something you do not want to do until everything is powered up and stable. Pretty minor though I am sure there are a thousand things that are done differently in the sim vs RL.
  11. Thanks Ptroinks, enjoyed the mission. Will definately play it again. FYI #4 aircraft has no fuel in it (in 0.9 anyway). For all those that are looking for a mission that works in .0.9- this seems to. Cheers
  12. Maybe so, but it appears that there are at least 3 manufacturers for 30mm, as you set this in the IFCC test menu. This is probably what the OP was referring to.
  13. Enjoyed the mission, thanks. If I was to provide any constructive feedback it would be that to us it felt a little like the order of battle and unit disposition was a little 'arcadey'. It felt like endless shilkas on a close to a 1:1 ratio with tanks plonked in the middle of paddocks were everywhere. This is not something I would really expect to see in such a scenario. I personally would have prefered some tougher SAMs rather than so many Shilkas. That said, enjoyed flying it. Thanks a lot.
  14. Was not aware of that function, thanks for that.
  15. Because they are 3rd party. I would then assume that because they are 3rd party ED are treating them as such thereby releasing complete responsibility.
  16. Just checked on the off chance, and no DF isnt working. I did notice however (and this will please all those electrical nerds) that there is a electrical diagram with bus distribution in the manual now. Is this new? Havent seen it before... Really hope they model bus failures, thatd be sweet.
  17. Do you mean the dotted circles? If so, they look like NDBs to me. Perhaps they are implementing the DF capability, or gearing up for KA50 compatibity...
  18. Oh very nice indeed
  19. Great idea, had not thought of using the offset for this. Yep triangulation is used in RL ESM
  20. LOL slacker, you are hard core. So to summarise: A-10C - A-10C = both set your TACAN to A-A T/R and have freqency split of 63. i.e. tell your mate to set 29X and set 92X yourself. (these are the easiest two to remember). Set your HSI to TACAN. You will get a distance only. However if using a KC-135 treat it as a ground station i.e tune their freq
  21. See ya on stallturn.com server soon Subs
  22. Had a fly of this tonight, was great fun! Some fantastic work put in here, the recon pictures are a real nice touch. Was having a sip of my coffee enroute to my next WP when I got blown out of the sky my a Strela which surprised me! Must have been up on a peak somwhere. Looking forward to trying it again tomorrow. Nice work moosh, thanks a lot. p.s. Does the tanker have TACAN?
  23. There are lots of legitimate CD key stores about. Google suggests that this one might not be good though. http://steamunpowered.eu/steam-alternatives/
