  1. If guys want to do JTAC stuff, I'd host a server. Know a thing or two about JTACery and have built some missions that are tailored around being a JTAC.
  2. But being Ranger qualled is pretty cool. My hats off.
  3. I was a JTAC for three combat deployments. I've controlled from a Hummer, MATV, Blackhawks, the TOC and from foot. Depends on the mission.
  4. Works now. Operator error. Thanks.
  5. I keep getting a false with this function. Not sure why.
  6. Babu, Thanks so much for the help! I had the day off yesterday and spent considerable time looking at your trigger list, this helps immensely! Again this is the best mission I've seen in DCS for replay value. Thanks again, looking forward to some more of your creations. Are you a programmer in real life? Paco
  7. Awesome mission!!! Probably the best I've see so far. I written several missions for my clan/squad but none have the randomness factor like you put in. I've been trying to unravel your triggers, any change you have a word document or something that could teach me how to do what you did? Again, great mission.
  8. You guys are going to love this!
  9. Attack headings/restrictions are based on a variety of factors. Most common is the relation of the attack run to friendlies. Ideally you make runs parallel to friendlies but this is not always possible. It might be due to the JTAC lasing a target which then requires a specific run in heading. It might also be to deconflict between air and artillery or air and attack helos. Lots of reasons. The virtual JTAC, while he gives run in restrictions does not care if you bust them.
  10. I turn on the IFF, even thought it doesn't work. Out of habit I guess.
  11. I second the God comment. I would never have thought of that. I have a question about arty. How can I start and stop artillery using a radio command. I can get the arty to start and to stop but cannot get them to fire again. I've tried flags etc. but can't seems I can only do this once. Any ideas? thanks in advance.
  12. How about some place where I can pronounce the names of the villages I fly over? :-)
  13. As soon as I get an iPAD, I'm buying this software. Boarder2, thanks for the work.
  14. Awesome!! I'm on my third Kindle and this will be great!
  15. Nice touch with the American flag on the dash. When it comes out, I want it.
  16. SADL is just a tool, a human JTAC equipped with an IR pointer, LASER and binos will be awesome....trust me. This will be huge in the gaming world with ED raising the bar for serious air-to-ground fires integration. Looking forward for this new module into the community.
  17. Well, see that's the kicker. Had I known the motherboard was going to fry, I would not have bought the I7-960 and just gone with a Sandy-bridge and i5-2600. But I elected to just replace the i7-960 and keep it at that. After I buy the chip the motherboard and GTX-295 go up in flames, while at the shop. So now it would be more expensive to switch over, since I would now have to buy a chip, and moboard.
  18. We'll work out a settlement of sorts. Had I not been there, I would've not believed it. Yes, it takes some effort to make a computer burn. Not just spark....burn. I'm just glad it wasn't in our house when it did this.
  19. So I buy an I7-960 chip and H80 cooler. This is good, so keep reading.......I didn't have time to do the install myself, so I take it in to a computer shop and they do. Guy calls me back and says the computer is ready and it's running like a champ. Great! I go back in and there's my HAF932 sitting on the counter with the side panel open. The technician is "tweaking" the overclocking....while I'm standing there, my rig catches on fire! Yes, Fire! I'm not talking sparks...I'm talking flames coming out of the PCI slot where my GTX295 was plugged in. Now it's a motherboard replacement and a graphics card. That's in addition to the i7-960 and cooler I bought. This sucks.
  20. I went with an I7-960. I'll let you know how it goes.
  21. All, I blew my I7-950 due to a cooler failure. Now I'm shopping around for a new CPU and/or Moboard. I'm debating between a I7-2600 or a I7-950/960/970 series. I will keep the GTX 295. Any suggestions? Also will I have to replace my hard drive if I go with a I7-2600 and consequently new moboard? Thanks in advance. /r,
  22. I have my CDU letter and number keys mapped to the keyboard and x52. When I depress and hold my pinkie switch it acts as a modifier, that in combination with my keyboard allows me to type into my CDU. Works great.
  23. Guys, This may be the wrong place to post, but my gaming computer just died and I suspect it's a CPU cooler problem. I suspect my Coolit Liquid CPU cooler was having water pump issues. Now my computer won't even boot up. Question is....if the CPU cooler died will it prevent my computer from booting up or did I fry my CPU and that's what preventing a boot up? I suspect it will be a few weeks until I'm up gaming again. Any help or advice will be appreciated. /r,
  24. I'm building a mission right now, where you must discriminate targets and save your mavericks/lgb's for T-80's. I let the ground forces take care of the brdm's and so forth. This requires target sorting by the TGP to make sure you take out tanks as specified by the Ground Commander's intent, while other assets handle the "light work". Joint Fires planning and integration takes a lot of effort and is all about massing all types of fires and using limited resources most effectively. It's about Command and Control. Believe it or not, DCS with it's mission editor is very good at this.
