  1. So you keep telling us. :noexpression: ;)
  2. To be honest, I was averse to making high-speed runs before I had a wing snap off. The A-10 is a lot more nimble without the wings being loaded down. The time that wing snapped off I had a TER with 2 mavs on each wing. Not surprisingly, it proved to be a bit too much... It's all fine and dandy on the range, but when you see the flashes of a ZU-23-2 sending a warm welcome your way, it's all too easy to pull just that little bit too hard. Friend of mine was "kind" enough to capture it actually.
  3. Had that happen once. As a result I never do gun runs while hauling ordnance anymore. Launch everything else first, then switch to guns. Hasn't happened since. :joystick:
  4. Fair enough, didn't know what to call it. ;)
  5. That. Tune your axis. ;) *provided you don't have a fancy force-sensing stick at least, like the TM Warthog.
  6. Or it might be flooded. Never hurts to crank/motor it before attempting a restart.
  7. That, and every time I leave the pit. Quite the rocket ride. :D Always strange to see the aircraft trailing off, often the first glimpse I get at the full extent of the damage.
  8. That's how real men get scars. :P
  9. The HUD disapearing when I lined up the first gun run. Was looking forward to those after slaving up high... bloody failures. :P
  10. It's "Ka-50 should have AA missiles!1!" all over again. :( ED models load-outs that are actually used, not what is theoretically possible.
  11. Try actually tuning the correct frequency. Easy comms might only simplify by not having to select the proper radio.
  12. Maybe check if Windows is driving it at 120Hz. Pretty sure it defaults to 60Hz untill you set it to the proper value. I'm guessing BS will use what is set for the desktop. Also, is this a CRT monitor? LCD shouldn't flicker at all, regardless of refresh rate.
  13. Oh heck no! Still getting my money's worth on this one. :D Win7 64b
  14. Er no, I think it still uses the regular solution. As far as I know it is because Steam can't provide copy-protection/DRM for 64-bit applications. (copied form another board) Coincidentally, the overlay may well not work with 64-bit either.
  15. :music_whistling:
  16. I guess a small subscription fee would give more certainty to on-going support. Maybe buy, quite literally, a little time in between releases to patch previous products. One particular example in this case would be the funding of the work required to make the modules actually compatible. At this point, there's no more than good intentions to make BS compatible with the A-10C. But ED isn't going to be making much money in the meantime from BS; it's fair to assume most people that were going to buy it already have. So you get a situation where you're working on an older project without any return. I think a subscription model would make a lot of sense here, though I'd prefer to go without... at least until ED folds and I'm left wondering what went wrong. :D
  17. Seems to be working well enough. :) ... Provided I hit it. Who knew spraying 200 rounds in a tanks general direction wasn't enough. :D
  18. It's off a little, just scroll down a bit and you'll see the highlight.
  19. Ah, but the Viper fills a different role, doesn't it? CAS kinda implies you know (roughly) where the targets are. And even if an A10 would be send to scout something out, it doesn't have the speed or the altitude to stay safe or get out of trouble. Really think ground-search radar would sooner compromise it's abilities by adding dead weight.
  20. Vulcans are for fly-swatters. Mud-movers have no use for it. :P And what would you use a bloody radar for in an A-10? Just something for your enemy to home in on imho. :music_whistling:
  21. Indeed, keep 'm coming ED. I really hope you will continue to cater to this little niche.
  22. I know, it's just that you can't compare a helo to fixed-wing. If you find yourself competing with fixed-wing aircraft, you're doing something wrong (or the topcover is screwing up/blown away). Normally the only airborne threat you have to deal with are other helicopters, which you can both out-run and out-manuevre.
  23. Thanks for the compliments. That would be daytime. The time is on the display, bottom left: 12:16. CCD is not all that useable in low light. IR is just blurry at the moment, at max zoom it's not much more than a vague smudge, though at shorter range with only optical zoom (narrow FOV) you can pick out a fair amount of detail. There's a few such shots in the video, bot during day and night.
  24. Glad you like it. This beta version is more polished than some final releases. Define buggy? Yes, there are bugs. No, they won't keep you from enjoying it. If you're interested in the final release, then definitely try it. Even if you should find it completely unplayable (unlikely :)), you get access to the final release as soon as it is available. Assuming you don't mind a digital copy, of course.
  25. ^ Well, there ya go. :D This is from a more comfortable 23nm: And the same in FLIR WHOT/BHOT: * At the moment FLIR works well to spot groups from a distance, but you lose ton of resolution at high magnification.
